This fun-filled resort is located in Gold Coast, minutes away from the surf beaches, theme parks, hinterlands, and much more. Situated on the magnificent golden sands of Palm Beach, this property is just an easy stroll away from Currumbin Estuary and is within the vicinity of shopping precincts, nightclubs, restaurants, and entertainment centers. Recreational facilities on-site include a lagoon pool, spa, pool side BBQ, sauna, tennis court, swim up pool bar, and a pool water slide! We managed to book this apartment as our last stop while traveling/driving from Cairns to Brisbane/Gold Coast. This is the best price we pay for four of us. Only AUD90 per night for four of us for this fully equipped apartment with seaview from both rooms and living room. Even cheaper than dorm bed we paid for earlier. And this is one of the best accomodation we had in this trip, even better than Hotel Cairns we stayed in the first week of our trip. This place is great if you are driving as the locatio is not exactly at the heart of surfer paradise or main beaches or shopping malls. We spent most of our time in the apartment, enjoying our own cook food, wine, beers, and playing card game. Felt like at home.
Royal Palm Resort (y)”
Unfortunately it stormed for the majority of our stay and the power went out in Palm Beach just as we arrived at the hotel so the lifts weren't working for quite some time, but still we had an excellent vacation. The facilities in this resort are amazing - large heated pool with a waterfall, spa and slide for the kids, several BBQ areas and BBQs, sauna, gym, games room, 2 tennis courts (one full and one half size), mini putt putt and checkerboard. Beautiful well maintained gardens throughout attracting abundant birdlife. Beach access with no roads to cross. Just walk out of the resort and the beach is there. Exercise equipment just outside of the resort grounds. Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, parks, public transport, etc. In all just a great place to stay :)
Awesome hotel with a spectacular view!”
Royal Palms is a must stay hotel! The pool and spa are amazing. The staff are fantastic and the apartments are faultless
Could have been better”
On arrival, things could have been better handled. Unfortunately the manager had to stand in. However, the manager I give great appraisal to a she understood the situation and broke it down to a level in which was understandable to the customer. The issue was sooner dealt with and we were on our way. The manager is very approachable and commended highly. Our stay was comfortable and uninterrupted. The weekend went very smoothly. Although, under new ownership, we have felt a difference in the environment during our stay. As loyal customers to the Royal palm resort, we have stayed at this hotel the past 3 years, this year has been the most difficult and most expensive by far. All in all, we are thankful for our stay and may rethink our accommodation next year.
The swimming pool area was first class and excellent proximity to beach. The apartment we had (11F) was a good size and basically clean but could do with updating and a good spring clean. All the pictures of the apartments online were a lot more modern. We had a sea view from the lounge room but were on the side of the building so facing north up the Gold Coast Highway. Still a good view though. Would definitely stay again but would ask for an apartment towards the middle of the building with more ocean view.
Good ol favourite ”
Pros :value for money when finding a good deal. Location is hard to beat with ocean front, close to cafes and restaurants. We love The view and sound do ocean and the facilities. Cons:units are all so different and the past year we have stayed 3 times and always had something different not right with the units. This time it was the beds -they were small (double for main) and very worn out uncomfortable mattreseeses. The shower in ensuite was very low pressure. The fridge shelves were broken and the frypans were very used and in poor condition that I couldn't use to cook. The other con was the unit above was having work done and we would wake (on our holiday) to the loud sound of workers above, even prior t 7am! (Holidays are for sleeping in !) Besides all of this , we will keep coming back but only when we can access crazy good deals, wouldn't pay full price without these things being fixed. Need to have a set standard even tho the rooms are individually owned.
Stunning Location with a choice of rooms”
We recently spent 3 nights at this resort. We were after a high rise with ocean views and were not disappointed. This iconic Gold Coast high rise (circa 1980's)is only partly refubished but the location and views more than make up for that.Whilst the hotel lobby and corridors need updating, the pool and spa area have recently been renovated and are so lovely that its about to be featured on an airline commercial. There are 3 different types of accommodation here, Standard rooms, Deluxe rooms, and Superior rooms. All are reasonably priced so my advice would be to splurge on a superior room as the Standard room is quite basic and the Deluxe is fine but only partly refurbished.Make sure to ask for an ocean view room so as to not be disappointed - not all rooms have the same outlook.
Great location and value for money”
Spent 3 nights at the resort in an apartment on level 1 which was great for our small children. We had a great time spending our days at the beach and the wonderful pool which the kids loved. Although the apartment might be a bit older, it was well stocked, well maintained, and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back!! The location can't be beaten and there was nothing that we felt was missing from our relaxing holiday.
Beautiful views, relaxing holiday!”
Spoilt for choice each morning looking out from the balcony up on the 23rd floor.. wonderful pool and surrounds .. or through the gate to the patrolled beach. No need to hire a car.. supermarket, restaurants, a stones throw away. We caught the bus 20 mins to and from the airport. They even run from right outside the resort 1.5hr journey all the way to the theme parks! Such a relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend!
the room was very clean, tidy, and spacious. the views that we had from our room were fantastic, the pool area was very relaxing. great location that catered to all our needs. the staff at the resort were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. i would highly recommend this resort to anyone that is travelling to coolangatta.
great stay loved it”
excellent rooms very spacious and well appointed.everything is provided initially from laundry powder to dishwashing liquid.a little bit of everything.the staff are well mannered and pleased to help with any question or querie you might have.the bus stop is right out front and the services are regular and cheap.there are some shops a short walk from the resort and there is a large shopping centre a 5 minute bus ride away,or a 15 minute walk.
RPR-Superior Apartment22C ”
Love Apartment22C, had everything we needed for a gorgeous relaxing stay - it was like living at home but better lol. Beautiful modern beach themed decor & furniture, gorgeous breakfast bar, with great views towering over everything, you can see for miles, carpeted living areas, great comfortable beds, lots of spare pillows & blankets, children's pool toys, 1000pc jigsaw puzzles in cupboard for your leisure, new /clean ceiling fans, nicely presented modern bathrooms, washer, dryer. Outside facilities include, 2xtennis courts, great heated outdoor spa, huge pool, right by beach & 2min walk to Dune cafe. Just perfect for a long get-away - there's too much to do for a short stay !
Why did I book this? The photos of the unit on the website looked great, along with the pool and location right on the beach & next to Currumbin river. Certainly the location was amazing, and the pool was great. However the rooms we were given were well below par. They were shabby & looked like nothing had been done or spent on them since the building was originally built 30 years ago, except for new flatscreen TV's. Rated as 4 star, I wouldn't have given them better than a 3. Unit 11F day 1 Oven didn't work Hot plates were dangerous, the small hot plate came on together with which ever hot plate you had actually turned on The saucepan lid handles were all broken Crockery and glasses were all dirty & greasy No blankets Several light globes were not working Could not open windows as no fly screens fitted. Next day we complained & got moved to the only other available unit. Unit 21E No blankets Oven needs calibration, we had a very late dinner on our first night as oven took 2 hours to roast veggies. Kitchen cooking utensils are cheap plastic & useless. Several light globes not working. No remotes (TV, DVD, & Cable TV) had batteries. Ceiling fan/light in living room did not work. Doesn't anyone check this basic stuff before guests arrive? It isn't rocket science! According to the management, they have no blankets it's the unit owners responsibility, we had none in first unit, & 1 between 3 beds in second & the evenings were particularly cool. Lucky we have family living on Gold Coast who we could borrow bedding from. My summation. The owners of the units are tight arses, they can't even afford 1 blanket per bed, and management of the rentals is slack. Obviously they do not work off an accommodation check list before guests arrive. So the way I always judge accommodation is would I recommend this & would I stay there again. Answer NO WAY! It's a shame as this place has so much potential.
'C' Room - Views and Quiet!”
I stayed in a 2 bdrm deluxe suite with 2 my kids (8, 14). I was thrilled to get an air con room - 16C which overlooks the pool area. It was quiet (no traffic noise), fab views, with air con a bonus. My only gripe was that the kitchen cupboards were pretty grimy. Luckily we ate out a lot! Reception staff were helpful with good local knowledge. Tip: if you're checking in out of office hours, make sure you ring ahead of your arrival to find out the process. This resort is a bit off the beaten track. We were told to use public tspt rather than hire a car - maybe standard Commonwealth Games advice? - but I wish we'd hired a car. Theme parks were a loooong way to go on public tspt with kids. On the upside, you're close to the airport here :)
Great location, gorgeous views”
Whilst our room was on the first level, and one of the unrenovated ones, this was still a fantastic place to stay. Great view from our room overlooking the pool and out to the beach. The room was tidy and clean, and well equipped with everything you could wish for. The location is perfect, we’ll definitely be back!
Thank you for your review. Please come back and visit us next time!!
Good value for money ”
Will return love the area out of the hustle and bustle of the busy parts of the Gold coast
Apartment 19E - Disgusting”
The state of Apartment 19E was appalling - we have stayed in many apartments and this is the worst presented apartment we have ever experienced. The state of cleanliness was shocking. The range hood was filthy - the build up of fat was disgusting; carpet was threadbare and dirty; kitchen and bathroom cupboards were sticky to touch; kitchen table was stained and damaged; dustpan was filthy; inside of cupboard drawers were worn; bed mattress was low quality; bedside lamps did not work; no TV remote. Finally, the apartment needs to be totally updated and renovated and should not be rented out until it's brought up to anappropriate standard. On the positive side, the pool area was lovely and pool appeared very clean. Very close proximity to the beach and the farmer's market at Palm Beach which is a great market held every Saturday. Make sure you do not book Apartment 19E.
We booked last minute and the whole family loved our room. The resort facilities are well cared for and great for families. Definitely looking at returning sometime soon.
Excellent location with large rooms.”
nice sized rooms with an excellent uninterrupted view along the coastline. the pool area was good and tennis courts provided great leisure time. the short walk to the beach made life easy and the staff were pleasant and helpful. overall we enjoyed the stay and would return there again.
Terrific location. Beach access. Apartment 11a has views of GC, ocean, Currumbin Estuary and the hills with Mt Warning! Bright & airy 2 bedroom apartment with shutters. No air con in bedrooms but great breezes. Windows rattle a bit in the wind and no fly screens so a few bugs & cicadas joined us. Great facilities with large pool. Really beautiful setting. Would recommend for group of friends or a family with kids.
