Great Location! Very Clean and organized ”
My friends and I stayed in the Hotel in November. I loved the hotel, the staff is friendly and veru helpful the manager is amazing, they let us leave our bags before the check in for $2. The room had a lot of space, the bed was good and very clean. The best part about this hotel besides all above is definitely the location, its super close to the Central Park (only 3 blocks) and great location Upper West Side, close to restaurants, pharmacy, grocery stores and the Metro station is only 1 block away! Its not fancy, its very simple, but if you are looking for great location, nice clean place on a budged this is definitely for you.

More Than You Pay for”
I chose this hotel as something of a last resort - as a broke graduate student, New York conventional hotel prices are out of my reach! But the Royal Park delivered. On arrival, I was greeted by the friendly desk manager. When I went to my room, I discovered that it had an A/C (which I was not expecting.) The room was clean and had fresh, high quality linens. The shared bathroom was spotless - the staff cleans it every morning, along with the hallways. The place can be a little noisy, especially in the evening - lots of young travelers stay here, and they are not always the most courteous. But the staff works hard to make sure things stay good for the rest of the patrons. With the A/C on, I did not notice any noise and slept well on the comfortable bed. I recommend this place for anyone who is travelling on a budget.

Great hotel, convenient location and helpful staff”
We just finished a 6 night stay at this hotel and we were very happy with it, particularly for the price in comparison with other hotels in manhattan. The location is good - near Central Park and just an express subway ride away from Times Square. Most of the hop on hop off buses also go two blocks away. The rooms were great - decent size, queen bed and hanging space for clothes and we had two large suitcases open the whole time on the floor also. Still had extra space to move around. Nice bathroom. Our room also had nice exposed brick walls which was lovely. Super helpful staff also - each time we asked for directions they printed a map for us. Would definitely recommend if looking for an affordable comfortable place in NYC.

Affordable, for NYC”
This hotel is the best value for money we've found. NYC is expensive and The Royal Park is clean, the staff is polite and the area is not dangerous (but also not in mid-town). The cable TV is not the full package, the wifi is not strong enough to stream a video and there are no fancy little soaps in the bathroom (just regular soaps). But the price is reasonable, and so we've come back here.

Economic and Basic Accomadation”
Royal Park Hotel and Hostel in Uptown West Manhatten is in a good neighborhood, a short walk from the 96 th subway station on Broadway and a pleasant 1/2 hour walk to the East side Museums. The hotel itself is very basic. Our room with a double bed and private bath was small as expected in NYC but functional and maintained except for the worn out mattress. The price was the lowest of any in my search and the taxes and fees were much less than other hotels. If you are looking for glamour this is not the place.

Exceptional”
Room was nice. Shower light was out but not the end of the world. The vending machine on our side/floor of the building was out of water but we just went to the other side to get a bottle. The elevators took a really long time to arrive at your floor. The area is very nice, easy walk to the underground metro and lots of shops and parks in the neighborhood. The staff was also very nice and accommodating.

Good hotel but not for everyone ”
I would recommend this hotel to certain people, it’s not for everyone. First of, people need to understand that if you are saving money it comes with sacrifice! If you want luxury then you have to pay. Second, come mentally prepared! The rooms are small (literally fits only the bed) and the restroom is shared (and in my case at the end of the hallway). But I was ready, had sandals to shower, had all my supplies in different bags to keep them from direct contact with any surface, always scheduled showers with my husband (I didn’t want to go alone). Also, had wipes for the toilet just in case. The hotel is clean and the shared restroom was ALWAYS clean. My husband and I knew our trip was with the purpose of exploring the city and so we will barely be at the hotel. For us it was worth saving that money to spend it on tours and broadway shows. The bed was comfortable, we had 5 good quality pillows (we slept like babies) and the hotel is quiet. We will totally book this hotel again.

Nice place at a strategic location”
The hostel is located in a nice place in Upper West Side with good access to convenience stores, the train station and Central Park. It was easy to go around from there. The private room with private toilet is spacious with good enough leg room for travellers with a lot of luggage like us. There were a lot of sockets that weren't working though and it was hard to get staff assistance since the rooms didn't have phones to call the reception.

small but clean”
the hotel was what we expected for that price in NYC. small and old, but clean. we had a shared bathroom (lately renovated), also very clean and never occupied when we needed it! first they wanted to give us a room with only one king sized bed (we ordered a twin room, me and my mum), then they wanted to give us a room with a bunk bed. at the third time going to the lobby he gave us what we wanted.. a twin bed room. it had a window and a small tv as well as a mini walk-in closet. the noise from the street was okey, but i would suggest bringing earplugs with you. one day before we actually wanted to leave we had a note on the door that we where supposed to check out. but it was a mistake from agoda, so everything was fine and we could stay as long as we booked for. in total i would recommend royal park hotel for a stay if you are just there for sleeping.

Great hotel”
I rented a Double Room with Private Bathroom and was really great. I had been in NYC before and payed the same for a much worst room in a different hotel. The room has good space and the bathroom was just perfect. The guys from front desk provided everything we asked for and they were very kind. Also, the location of the place is perfect. I will consider this hotel again if returning to NYC.

Clean, bare bones facility at a great price!”
Stayed here while visiting my daughter in the neighborhood. Great location near Riverside park, easy access to downtown via subway or taxi (West End Ave). Hallways and lobby are minimally attractive, but the room itself was clean, nice beds, good AC. GREAT price for NYC. I will happily stay here again. The only jarring note was that at one point it looked almost certainly as if a homeless person had showered in the shared bathroom - filthy dirty, hairy debris left behind when I arrived home one night. My concern was that this suggested that security was not as tight as it should be. I have no problem with someone getting clean - in fact am happy that the person was able to do so - but if that person was mentally unstable it could have turned out badly.

Value for money!”
I stayed 2 nights with my friends. The hotel is just 5mins walk from the metro and local and rapid both train stops at the 96st station. Room was quote small. We hardly could open up our luggages but still good deal in NYC. Wifi was ok in the room. Hot water was ok. Staff was helpful. Towel and sheet were clean. I would recommend you to stay in this place if you prefer practical benefit rather than a fancy service.

Great location!”
I was in NYC w/ my 26-year-old son. We were very pleased with this facility. We made sure we had a room with a private bath. The bathroom looked fairly newly updated. A very bare-bones hotel. Only provided towels, soap, & toilet paper. No shampoo, wash cloths, Kleenex, blow dryer, iron, refrigerator, etc - all things we’re accustomed to having in most hotels . But, for the location, I felt the price was probably pretty reasonable. It was clean, the beds were comfy, had a tv & wi-if. We were only a short 2 block walk from the subway, so this convenience made it VERY MUCH WORTH IT! A grocery store, 7-11, Starbucks, & more very close by. I would stay here again.

New adventure starts with a step”
I first booked my room that every moment when I landed in NYC. I booked a one bed room however when I got to the hotel, a larger class of over seas students needed nearly every single one bedroom size. In return, the hotel upped me into a two bed bedroom size with no extra charge.

A little offbeat but just fine for us”
Our room was directly off of the lobby which was a little odd at first, but the room was clean and comfortable. Our bathroom was outside of the room but private and also very clean and modern. We were also surprised at all of the folks in the lobby using wifi but got used to it. TV has only 4-5 channels, but we were not in NY to watch TV. All in all the hotel was fine, and we would stay there again.

Staff gave my room # to man requesting it.”
The staff at Royal Park Hotel gave my room number to a man who asked for me by my maiden name. They corrected and said they didn't have an Amanda N* but they do have an Amanda G* her room number is ###. The individual that came to my room was crazy (100s of calls and texts). I was fearful... And they put me in danger by giving my room number to whomever asked for it. Luckily I survived NY no thanks to the staff at Royal Park Hotel.

It was alright”
For the money you can't ask more in New York City. You have a express 1 train 2 blocks away which is very convenient. Even though I live at Upper-West I still go downtown everyday.

Peaceful sleep ”
Great night sleep beds are comfortable. No bugs very clean and wonderful staff! Bad thing is no parking is included even though when booking Agoda mentioned $30 day parking that was a mistake there is a parking garage but it's not affiliated with hotel.

Adequate but elevator is small and very slow”
The first night I was placed in a double room with a shared bathroom even though I had booked for a room with a private bathroom. But they changed this the next day to what I had asked for. The double room had a renovated bathroom but only small window looking on to a black wall so it was dark and the light needed to be on all the time. I asked for an extra lamp next to the bed for reading and they gave this to me. The room, which was on the sixth floor, had no extra amenities such as a telephone to contact reception or to ask for anything, such as glass for drinking water. There were no coffee making facilities or shampoo sachets. You had to use a small stuffy lift which was also used by the staff which made it very slow. I usually walked down the sixth floors but used the lift only for coming up. However on the whole the staff did answer questions about getting to places in New York.
