Comfy place with a beautiful garden setting near the National Botanical Gardens.”
We liked this place a lot. The staff was friendly and reception very helpful with arranging transport to the market and other places. The prices via the receptionist were no more expensive than it was dealing with the taxis and horse cart drivers directly and a lot easier. The waiters were very nice and one of them walked around with our two-year old so we could eat breakfast. The breakfast buffet was OK too.
Free upgrade to junior suite”
The room we booked didn't have a double bed so they upgraded our double bed. Quite a big room. The only bad thing is that we need to wait for hot/ warm water for 5 mins. The weather is very cold so we can't wait 5 mins for basin water and normally just use cold water. It is quite uncomfortable.
Oasis of peace and quietness”
Spent three nights there. Bed very comfortable, hot water, open windows 24/7 due to fantastic weather and absolute silence. What could easily be improved is; - the breakfast. The entire food is cooked, kept in cold chaving dishes without heating = cold fried eggs, bacon and the rest. Put in a cooking station and everybody is happy. - The minibar fridge (in Room 108) is noisy and hence we switched it off; the reception took note of the issue but kept switching the electricity back on four times. - English language; except the two ladies the staff is unable to communicate in basic English, while my knowledge of Myanmar is literally non-existent. Would stay there anytime again; thank you for making it a wonderful stay.
The room was ok, we only had one outlet though! And there was the TV inside. We couldn't get hot water. The breakfast was not really convincing, I had better breakfast in hostels before. In the evening we asked at the bar for a drink but they were out of ice haha a bar without ice. Well overall, you can do better
Very picturesque setting in peaceful surroundings. Large, high-ceilinged rooms, well-soundproofed. Great onsite restaurant and breakfast. Very helpful staff with several who spoke English very well. Easy parking. Bathroom could use some rehab but everything else makes up for it. I would definitely return.
Spacious Room with best shower”
Loved it. Would recommend it if you have your own car or any type of transportation. It's very inside the city. Wasn't even easy to find. But it was worth it. Best shower room ever. Very clean and good ambiance.
I booked my own room, although part of a group as I didn't want to share a room. Thumbs up for the reception staff and breakfast team. Not happy with the restaurant staff in the evening, suggest you check your bill carefully as the bill was inflated! This we spotted and refused to pay! Staff in the morning once notified were very apologetic. I would still recommend the hotel as a nice place sad we on,y had one night to enjoy it.
Not in the centre of town, but excellent!”
This hotel has very pretty grounds and we were able to walk to an excellent Indian restaurant called Taj. Feel is also close by. We walked to the stunning botanical gardens as well. Loved Pyin Oo Lwin, loved this hotel.
Suite made for a very quiet, pleasant hotel stay”
Booked two nights in a suite to get more room. Quiet room upstairs at back of hotel. Very good sized shower with "outdoor shower feel" even though fully enclosed, well designed. Restaurant well priced, very good service and pleasant surrounding with view over gardens. Staff very helpful. Breakfast buffet extensive, but limited western, but you only had to ask and they would make something. Could have done with longer in area and would have been happy to stay at this hotel longer.
Quiet and off Main Street ”
This little gem is off the main street and a short walk to the lovely botanical garden. There are also winding lanes with little traffic one could walk in the mornings without dogs hassling. Staff incredibly friendly and try their best to accommodate. Beds comfy n rooms well appointed with HOT showers for those cold mornings. Lovey garden areas as well. I've been here several times and recommend it to anyone.
Charming cottage amidst the hills of Maymyo”
This is a pretty place to stay with a beautiful garden and very friendly and helpful staff. The location is pretty central yet away from the main highway that cuts across Maymyo. I would recommend a stay here.
Very nice hotel”
After the longest single day journey in Myanmar's history, having travelled from Hpa-an via Yangon (for a meeting) and then to Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo) by car over a distance of some 965km in one day and only arriving at 2.30am, it was a good feeling to finally arrive, though we did get lost trying to find the place until I activated my phone's GPS. We were checked in quickly and I had a nice hot shower, which was needed given how cool it was that night. Unfortunately, the hotel did not have any extra blankets and quilts, which, given we were going into winter should be a necessity in these parts. Other hotels in the Maymyo area all seem to offer extra bedding. Of course, we could have requested them but as it was around 3 by the time we went to bed, it was getting a bit late but in the end I had a good night's sleep. Next morning the weather was miserable, drizzle and a bit cool. Breakfast was excellent, including the coffee. The hotel wanted our Agoda voucher so it took me a while to find the confirmation number, but once that was provided we were off on our way to our meetings in different locations in the greater Maymyo area. Definitely a good hotel, which I would give a rating of 8/10 for.
Beautiful place to relax ”
I stayed at this hotel in the rainy season and got quite a good deal (30$ per night). There weren't many people staying at the hotel, so I got a lot of attention of the staff. They were really nice and helpful trying to make my stay as nice as possible. My room was quite nice, the only thing that was a bit weird was the fact that the sink was outside of the bathroom. But that's only a small detail. I recommand this hotel to people who are looking for a peaceful place a bit outside of the city centre.
Comfortable and relaxed hotel with helpful staff”
The hotel itself is not centrally located in the heart of town, but it is situated conveniently for all the sights you'll want to see. A short walk from the hotel can get you to a horse and carriage that will take you around town, to the gardens and around the old buildings. The hotel is simple, certainly not luxurious, but is comfortable enough for a night's stay and the staff are helpful and friendly. Bathrooms are basic. Breakfast is adequate and as much as you would require.
Always a friendly welcome. Restaurant and laundry good and a very fair price.
Staff are excellent. Food great! Old world charm.
My first stay at this hotel and will definitely be back. Restaurant excellent.
Big room with good facilities”
Value for money. The breakfast is good and nice room
The staff are always so helpful and courteous. The breakfast is good and the restaurant reasonably priced. I will be back next year.
Hill Station Stopover”
Beautiful rooms that harked back to the 70s. The furniture style looks antiquated but very well maintained and clean. Good air heater for the room. Nice hotel landscaping and beautiful lighting at night. Beautiful front porch for morning tea. Hotel location near to nice rows of restaurant. Only about 20-25 minutes walk to Kandawgyi Gardens.
