ANOTHER GREAT STAY AT ROYAL TUNJUNG”

Location. Large Villas. Value for Money

Being our 2nd stay at Royal Tunjung Villas and Spa, it did not disappoint. We stayed in villa "Bayu II" which is a 3 bedroomed garden villa, very quiet during the day and night and relaxing. The Villas are furnished in Balinese furniture and the gardens are Balinese inspired which are very beautiful and well cared for. The Villas are great value for money for their size and location. We stayed here 2 years ago and during this time new management have taken over. There has been a few changes. Firstly, there is no poolside drink/food waiter anymore (which was disappointing) and the breakfast is woeful, very very basic. Not being a real big breakfast eater this didn't worry me much but if you live for breakfast you will be disappointed. Food is cheap in Bali and there is plentiful restaurants locally where you can buy breakfast. We don't stay at the Royal Tunjung for the breakfast, we stay there for the villas themselves. The villas are huge. Main bedroom upstairs has a king bed and outdoor bathroom (huge room). 2nd Bedroom upstairs has an ensuite with twin beds and the 3rd bedroom is downstairs which has a queen bed and ensuite (very small room). Also downstairs is a bar area with large fridge and bar stools, huge dining table with seats for 8 and a gorgeous day bed. Also each bedroom has a plasma tv as well as the lounge area downstairs. There is a safe in bedroom 2 upstairs. The downstairs area is open planned and not lockable. Each bedroom has its own set of keys. The complex pool is a good size and always clean. The furniture has pretty much had its day and needs to be upgraded as a couple of the sun lounges are about to collapse. They have put in 3 brand new ones but really need to replace them all. I highly recommend the Royal Tunjung Resort and will definitely stay here again for its location/quietness/gorgeous gardens/refreshing pool and space - just don't expect much for breakfast!

excellent villa complex”

excellent location in legian

We stayed in Villa Bayu which was a 3 brm villa. The villa was huge. All 3 bedrooms had their own safe, tea and coffee making facilities, plasma and bathroom with the main bedroom having a massive outdoor bathroom with huge bath. All rooms were airconditioned and they worked brilliantly and were so quiet which was welcomed by my husband who normally cannot stand the noise of them. Downstairs was a bar, large table and sofa with another plasma tv. I would recommend the villas to families with older children as the rooms are all private so easy access for little ones to disappear too easily. Our two boys aged 16 and 14 loved the resort. Angel in the office is an absolute asset to the Tunjung, nothing was too much trouble. The pool is small but big enough. The poolside bar is great and cheap and the food is delicious and cheap too. The resort is in THE best location. Next door to Bali Niksoma and the Melasti where you can cut through down their driveways to the beach which takes about 2 minutes. The resort also has an onsite airconditioned restaurant. The head chef is brilliant. If you are staying their on a Tue or Sat he puts on an all you you can eat Seafood buffet for RP100,000 pp (approx AUD$13pp) which includes a beer/cocktail or soft drink.....it was absolutely brilliant and yummy, best bargain! This was our 9th family holiday in Bali and my boys said to us that this was the best holiday they have had their as having their own rooms and the space and the location was excellent and we agree! Will definitely be going back!

Beautiful Villa with great service”

The upstairs rooms of the villa were big and comfortable. The head chef a great character who makes delicious nasi goreng for breakfast and great night time Roof top BBQ!

We enjoyed our stay at Royal Tunjung, the staff were very helpful & friendly. The head chef looked after us well & ensured we had all we needed. We enjoyed the roof top BbQ & band night, with singing & dancing. There was a ceremony at the hotel while we were there and the staff were very generous in inviting us & explaining all the details. We were delighted to be included & enjoyed learning more about Bali culture. Nothing was too much trouble. The security staff even escorted Mum each time she crossed the road to make sure she crossed safely. The only negative was the downstairs bedroom was a little small & not as lovely as the upstairs rooms. A swim followed by Nasi goreng & mixed juice for breakfast a great way to start each day. Overall we enjoyed our stay here & would recommend it to our friends.

Exotic, Wonderful, Big Villa, great for the Family, Close to everything but extremely quiet

We loved our stay here, The Villas were gorgeous, each room is air conditioned and modern with a flat screen TV. The main living areas are open air which was lovely . This is the only 'traditional' style accommodation we stayed in that felt luxurious and clean. Great value for money. We had a wonderful 16 day holiday here. We will be back next year and will bring our friends with us. Breakfast good. Asked for pancakes one morning and they were specially make. Nothing is too much trouble. Close to everything but extremely quiet. Next Family trip, we will stay here for sure, Thank you Royal Tunjung for a wonderful holiday.

My family enjoyed staying at the RTBR. We would go”

The hotel's location was close enough to the beach(less than 10 minute walk) so we did not have to pay beach front prices, surrounding restaurants were great, and the hotel itself was nice

Great! My family really enjoyed staying at the Royal Tunjung Bali Resort! It is close proximity to the beach, about a 10 minute walk. The location is great for all kinds of restaurants in all directions. We stayed in the one room suite, which allowed us to have a place to go during the hot afternoon sun. We would go to the beach in the morning for surf or play. Come home during the peak hot/sun time in the afternoon, eat lunch at a local restaurant and then go back to the beach in the late afternoon for surf or play. Many surf schools near the beach in that area so renting a board was very easy. THere was a minor misunderstanding about the extra bed we had in our room but we had an agreeable compromise in the end.

This was our first stay at Royal Tunjung. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful. The whole time during our stay they made us feel very welcomed and treated us like family. They went to so much effort to help organize a very special birthday surprise at our villa for my partners birthday... the staff enjoyed the surprise as much as we did. Will definately be going back again.

great entertainment area downstaris

This was our first trip to Bali and after booking the hotel couldn't wait to get there. "Wow", was our first reaction when we where taken to our villa by the very friendly staff. It was perfect to say the least. Close to everything yet so peaceful when we returned at the end of each day. The pool was great and if timed right most of the time your there by yourself. The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk from the villa. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Pretty relaxing”

Price, approx to beach & restaurants

It was pretty relaxing, in term of convenience to Legian beach, Spas & restaurants. It's great if you're travelling with family members as you can choose to stay either in 2 or 3 bedrooms villa. Overall it was a pretty relaxing stay but we experienced 2 days without electricity & running water due to the mass outage & unfortunately the hotel doesn't have any back up (generator) for it, so it was a pretty horrendous experienced specially when you have a toddler & elderly with you. And the hotel didn't give us any compensation at all for it i.e. late check out or free meal. We probably won't be staying here again unless we know they're ready for another outage which is pretty common in Bali.

Beautiful villas in quieter part of Legian ”

Pool, Location family friendly, spacious villa living areas

Great villas, upstairs very spacious master and twin bedrooms with ensuites, absolutely lovely. Downstairs bedroom and ensuite great. Open alfresco style downstairs with day bed area, dining table for six and bar area. All bedrooms separately key locked so little ones upstairs in own bedroom with older child downstairs was safe. Security walking grounds regularly. Plenty of space to relax and rest in living areas while kids sleep upstairs at night. Restaurant only letdown as was just average by hotel standards but is plenty to choose from within twenty minute walk in any direction. Very safe feel to area, not busy by Legian standards so felt comfortable with kids.

Our stay was funfilled, adventurous & invigorating”

The friendly service, the spacious bungalow with clean beautiful rooms & large bathrooms and the near proximity & convenience of the beach, restaurants, shops & pubs.

Our stay was wonderful! My girls, together with my husband & I enjoyed the ambiance of the Balinese bungalow which had 3 large rooms with bathrooms attached and even a balcony. It was clean, the beds comfortable and the air con great! The staff was ultra friendly & accommodating. we had a great time swimming & cooling down in the pool which was just a stones throw away! My daughters loved bargaining & shopping at the different stores dotted along the way, my husband enjoyed having daily foot massages, there was a variety of restaurants serving great tasting reasonably priced food, pubs serving great cocktails & aperitifs and of course spas for pampering you from top to toe! The sea-sports were fantastic - we just had to choose a package deal of the activities we wanted out of the numerous deals from pamphlets/ or outlets dotted outside our resort - they picked us up in the morning & dropped us back to our resort in the evening! We had a fantabulous time!

March 2019 - A great little Hotel and would definately stay here again. An older vireo but super clean and rooms have Tradutional furnishings. My room was clean, fresh sheets and towels daily and a great area in each Villa to sit and recharge while sitting on the daybed , reading or relaxing, swimming in the pool complete with great sun lounges and clean and today pool area. Pool isn’t huge but big enough to cool off and relax in. Very clean and towels provided. The breakfast were great and staff are very accommodating and friendly and could not do enough. Rooms, pool, staff

Helpful and friendly staff, execeent rooms (far better than seen elsewhere). Ensuites we clean but basic, could do better. Pool is a high standard, reflected well in the photos. Breakfast was 4/5 - bigger spread and fruit variety would have been nice. While we only stayed in the rooms, the villas looked fantastic. Excellent value for money, would stay again.

Great value accommodation, friendly staff.”

Friendly and helpful staff, Villa was clean and spacious, Secure location

Recently stayed in a three bedroom pool view villa with four other people. The villa itself is great as there is the downstairs area to sit and chat at night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. Breakfast in the restaurant was hit and miss, and whilst the staff tried to cater to our needs it was not always successful. Poolside dining was also a bit hit and miss but bearable. In all we had a great time but there are a few little things that could have been done to make it even better. Mosquito coils are not provided, we had to buy these and light them ourselves as there are a lot of mosquito's around at night, no glasses to drink from etc. Small problems in the scheme of our stay that were not major.

Great private villas”

Comfortable Balinese style with open air kitchen and living room.

We stayed at this hotel with another couple and a friend and the villas had a great layout for entertaining. Heaps of space with lots of privacy even though the living and dining area was open air. Staff was exceptional, any issues would be dealt with quickly and happily, though there were only a few issues and it was things like unlocking our safe when we input the wrong code too many times or bringing a new watermelon juice when we forgot to order it without sugar (everywhere in indo seems to want to add sugar to fresh juice which IMHO is already sweet) Little things too like remembering our names when they greeted us as we came and went made the stay there very nice. The one downside was the breakfast wasn't that great but we are not really big breakfast eaters anyway. Also the shower head could stand to be replaced in our villa. Pool looked nice and clean but we didn't use it since it was such a short walk to the beach (5 minutes or so)

Excellent Resort in a Great Location”

A Huge 1 bedroom villa, the downstairs area is for general living, lounge / dining and kitchen with a good sized fridge for drinks. large screen tv in the lounge with loads of english channels. The upstairs section had a great airconditioner large queen/king size bed and ensuite, big screen tv on the wall, plenty of closet space and a nice balcony to sit on in the evening for a few drinks.

From Checking in to checking out the staff were friendly courteous and very helpful. As an older person the amount of steps was sometimes a challenge, the resort is not wheelchair accessible at all, so if you are in that position I would suggest looking elsewhere. The hotel restaurant is clean and well staffed, the food is good, the bargain is tuesday and saturday nights on the roof BBQ - all you can eat for 100k idr, again only accessible by stairs. I definately will be returning on my next trip to Bali.

Royal Tunjung review”

nearby shops and restaurants, walking distance to the beach and free wifi

We did not enjoy our stay at the royal Tunjung hotel. We were ensured that this hotel was four star accomodation, however did not live up to four star standard at all. Our room was full of mosquitoes when we arrived, there was no electricity for our room majority of our stay which was very disappointing that we couldn't enjoy a room that we had paid good money for. We paid for breakfast included so being a four star hotel, we expected good food.. We ordered bacon and scrambled eggs and unfortunately, the bacon tasted and smelled off. My partner and I felt sick from the food later on that day and decided not to eat there again. Therefore our money had gone to waste! After we had complained multiple times for there being no electricity in our room, on the second last day they moved us to another room above reception. This room was not much better.. The bathroom reeked of mould and a foul Oder that I can't even describe, the TV was really small and we were promised two queen beds which were actually only double beds. In compensation for our original room being so bad, we were offered a free dinner at their restaurant but after being sick from their breakfast, we reluctantly declined. They were not willing to offer us anything else to compensate for our horrible stay at their hotel and on our last day we requested a later checkout, however they were would not to offer us anymore than an hour without charge, even though there were no other people booked in for the room/s. My partner and I were extremely disappointed that the whole last part of our stay was spent in this hotel with such poor service and standards for their patrons. Unfortunately, we have decided to avoid staying at the royal tunjung in the future and would not recommend it to family and friends. I would not rate this hotel with a four star ranking and am very disappointed as this hotel was misleading.

The Royal Tunjung has been a favourate of mine for some time but sadly the hotel ownwers are not spending any money on maintance or up keep. For example only 1 pair of salt and pepper shakers for the hole resturant? so it is getting run down, Most of the good staff have left, but their are still nice friendy staff their. Nice villa situated in central location”

I was surprised to see a villa in a small park on a central location in Leigian. There are just a few villa's (about 10). My villa was just with one sleeping room upstairs. The upperlevel you can close. The kitchen and livingroom downstairs is an open area. The terrace on the first level is very nice, completed withs chairs and table. the total space is huge. The breakfast is very simple and less choice. Unfortanately i had a villa situated to permanent neighbours with many dogs. They started to cry at 5 in the morning. Really loud and every day. The staff tried to talk with the neighbours but they tried before with other customers without succes. All other viilla's are occupied and they just offer me a room in another villa. Staff is really helpfull to find a solution.
