For my first trip to Korea and my first solo trip abroad, and since I am not familiar with Korean or English, I decided to stay at this Japanese hotel where I can speak Japanese and feel safe even if it is a bit expensive. The hotel was new, clean, and highly functional in every aspect, although not flashy. First of all, the location is quite convenient, with both bus stops and subway stations within a few minutes' walk. It took me only five minutes to walk from the bus stop to the hotel when I arrived at Incheon Airport by airport bus. Since it is located between Mapo Station and Gongdeok Station, it is easier to go to Gongdeok Station without transferring if you want to go to Seoul Station. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the subway entrance. The hotel faces a major street, so it is relatively safe to walk around even at night. There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so I think the location is quite convenient. As for the hotel itself, the reception staff can speak Japanese for the most part. The Japanese of the female staff who checked me in was particularly natural, and I was surprised to see her Korean name tag because I thought they also hired Japanese staff. There was a minor problem during my stay, but it was resolved in Japanese, so I felt very relieved. The room was like a slightly spacious business hotel. It may not be enough for those who want to relax in the room, but it is more than enough for those who only come back to sleep after sightseeing during the day. The desk had a power strip with an iPhone charging connector already prepared, so I could charge my iPhone by simply plugging it in. There was also a power outlet near the bed. Two bottles of bottled water were chilled and prepared in the refrigerator. The bathroom had a glass door, so there was no need to worry about the floor getting wet, which is common in overseas hotels. The bathtub was big enough for an adult to stretch out and relax without any stress. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were in bottle form, and the water pressure in the shower was no problem. There was also a rain shower. There is also a coin laundry, so it is suitable for long-term stays. There are separate washing and drying drums, and both cost 500 won in Japanese yen, or 1000 won if you use both. When you tell the reception how much you want to use, you will receive a dedicated card charged with that amount, which you can use by holding it up to each drum. The dedicated card must be returned. I returned it at check-out. There are four elevators, and they come quickly if they are not crowded. There is also a cafe on the first floor that is open late. Overall, it was a clean, functional, and comfortable hotel where everything necessary was compactly arranged. I would like to stay there again.

I booked a Superior Double room for a 5-night stay. The hotel feels very new and the check-in is on the 3rd floor. The staff are polite, friendly, and mostly speak English. There is a self-check-in and check-out option, but they couldn't find my booking. Eventually, after searching for it, they found it and I was able to check-in. The 3rd floor has a WON PASS and a self-service coffee machine with a variety of tea bags and bottled water. The gym is quite small with only 2 treadmills and 2 stationary bikes, so it may not meet the needs of customers who require a larger gym. We were assigned a room on the 21st floor, which was clean and had a larger bathroom with a bathtub and a shower. There is also a smart toilet, a safe, a small refrigerator, a wardrobe, two single sofas, and a coffee table. Disposable toothbrushes and slippers are provided, and two bottles of water are supplied daily. The room also has an air purifier and a dehumidifier. The room faces a busy road, but it is not affected by noise, and it is quiet at night. In the morning, the sun shines directly into the room from the east, which feels great. The 10th and 20th floors have self-service washing machines, a microwave, and hot and cold water dispensers. Late check-out requires an additional fee. Overall, the hotel is good, and I will choose to stay here again in April. The hotel is conveniently located near the Kongde Station, where you can take the train. Take exit 9, which has a handrail elevator and an escalator that goes directly to the ground level. Turn left and walk about 400 meters in the direction of the main road. You will see the Roynet hotel across the street, and the hotel is just across the road. There is an airport bus stop outside the hotel, which is convenient, but it may be affected by traffic. The Airport Bus 6015 and Airport Limousines 6701 and 6702 go to Incheon Airport. If you go out on weekdays, turn left towards Kongde Station or turn right towards Mapo Station. The No. 2 exit of Mapo Station is closer, about 300 meters away. Depending on your destination, you can choose the No. 1 exit of Kongde Station. If you walk straight from exit 7 of Kongde Station, you will see Emart, which has three floors. If you walk into the inner street from exit 9 of Kongde Station, there are many charcoal barbecue restaurants and local eateries to choose from.

The hotel rooms are quite spacious, with enough room to open two large suitcases and still have space to move around. The cleanliness of the rooms is high, and the hotel has a sign indicating whether or not you want your room cleaned daily for environmental reasons. If you need your room cleaned, you just need to leave the sign off the door. Overall, the hotel is reasonably priced and conveniently located. I really appreciated staying at Roynet Hotel for the one night we were transiting and would definitely think about staying here again in the future. Check in was very smooth. Check out was at 12pm, which was a pleasant surprise. You must keep track of your room keys because they want them back - if you lose them, there's a charge. I chuckled to myself all those times my husband has misplaced his key the moment he enters the room and it being a habit of his to get a replacement the first day. So be mindful of your keys if you are like this too :) The lobby has complimentary coffee from an espresso machine, crushed ice, tea bags, and bottled water. We definitely made ourselves an iced americano while waiting for our room to be available. Room wise, we booked the smaller room as there was only the two of us and we were staying only a night. The space is very clean, no smell (I'm sensitive to scent so the lack of smell, even fragrant ones, is very welcomed), with great AC and black out blinds. Comes with free water bottles in the mini fridge and a water boiler that was amazingly fast at its task. Size wise, we had a large suitcase and several smaller bags with us and it still felt like the room was big enough for us. Reminded me of a Tokyo style business hotel except it was far more updated. The bathroom had a shower and a large tub separate, with great water pressure. And full size bath towels! After weeks of having small bathroom facilities and SMALL towels around South Korea, this was really nice way to wrap up the trip. Location wise, it was in a very beautiful area of Mapo. In June, it can get rather hot by late morning but because there were large trees all around the main road and side roads, it made for a cool and picturesque walk to the station or our next destination. Lots of restaurants all around. Most tend to cater to the office worker crowd which means the choices M-F during lunch was where you will find the most plentiful options, cheap prices, and delicious food. Very convenient as a traveler to have an Olive Young next door, 7/11 across the street, and quick food options right at your doorstep. Transportation wise, we primarily used KakaoT to book our taxi but we did use the metro once. Taxi took about 10-15 minutes to Hongdae area where we had dinner and shopped. Very convenient to get to two stations, one of which is a transit hub serving two lines. Easy way to get to Hongik or Gangnam. It was also really convenient to get to ICN as the airport limosine was just a block away and easy to get to even big luggage. The staff spoke decent English and were very polite, courteous and accommodating when possible. We were able to leave our luggage with them after checkout since our flight wasn't till the evening. The only thing to note is that if you're taking a taxi, there is no hotel drop off area. The street infront of the hotel is a busy 3 lane street. We got used to our taxi drivers dropping us everywhere and anywhere, but with multiple bags, it was comical to stop in front of a hotel and hop a bush with bags just to get onto the sidewalk. So my advice would be to get dropped off at the corner just past the hotel near the cafe. No need for fence or bush hopping :) If you want a clean, comfortable, and new hotel with nice service to stay at - this is it.

Wow I wrote a really detailed review but agoda didn't save it after making me log in... So alas, here is a less detailed review. Location - excellent, about 10-15 minutes to the main Hongdae area. Two metro stations within 5 minutes walk making it easy to head West to Hongik and South to Gangnam. Lots of food options that are delicious and inexpensive - looks like they mostly serve the office worker crowd. Excellent gimbab next to the McDonald nearby! There's an airport limobus to ICN half a block away and an Olive Young just next door. Note: there is no hotel drop off area. Taxis will just drop you off in the middle of the block on a busy street and you might have to hop some bushes with your luggage to get onto a sidewalk. Best to be dropped off just at the corner past the hotel near the cafe for a more graceful taxi exit. Room - lovely, comfortable, updated/new, non-smelling (no fragrance nor unpleasant smell - just neutral!), small but enough space for a large suitcase and a few bags. The bathroom is a highlight with a separate shower and large tub. Great water pressure. Large size body towels and robes already in the room for your use! They have a plug adaptor to help you charge your devices. Surprisingly, the usb c plug didn't work to charge my android though. There's free water bottles in the mini fridge, and there's a water boiler that works surprisingly fast. Black out curtains, good AC, great options for lighting. Nothing to complain about and a very nice stay. Check-in/Check-out: Staff spoke decent English and were friendly and accommodating when possible. Lobby has a coffee and ice machine so we made ourselves iced americanos each morning. Also there's a small fridge with free water bottles. Very nice to have on a hot June day. Check out is at 12pm which was very nice as compared to the usual 11am. They held our luggage for us the next day as we have a late flight. All in all, great place to stay and I would consider coming back to Roynet for a longer stay next time I'm in Seoul!
