Great Location Practically A Spitting Distance Away from Wat Phra Singh”

Great hotel, great everything. When you're done with the Sunday Walking Market (which is about 1.2km long), the hotel is simply a right turn less than 100metres away. Super convenient! Highly recommended. By the way, the locals pronounce this hotel's name as "Der Lanna". Should your tuk tuk/taxi/song thaew driver not know where it is, just tell them to take you to Wat Phra Singh. Once you alight at Wat Phra Singh's front entrance, cross the road in front of it to the opposite side and look for a small road called Thanon Warorot (i.e. Warorot Road). "De Lanna Hotel" is on the left side of this road about 80 metres from the main road.

A good budget hotel in the old city”

I have stayed here several times because De Lanna offers good basic accomodation for a sensible price. The hotel is located in the heart of the old city. It is a 2 minute walk to the famous Sunday evening walking street market. The rooms are clean and have a mini bar, safe and tea/coffee facility. Breakfast is a modest but adequate western/asian buffet. There is a reasonable sized swimming pool. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed 'al fresco' in a garden next to the pool. 2 computers available. Free WiFi available. The staff are friendly and helpful and arranged pack breakfasts and a hotel car on my very early departure.

Friendly staff, convenient location ”

Hotel location near plenty of eateries and massage Parlors. Reception staff were friendly. My room’s air con was so noisy throughout the night and when we complained, they changed our room. Maybe because it’s not peak season so we don’t have breakfast buffet but a choice of 4 different set of breakfast to choose. However, breads, a small salad and fruits section were there together with fruit drinks and tea/coffee choices. Rooms were of reasonable size, firm beds (👍) and pillows were provided. But if your room are near the road, it can be quite noisy. Otherwise it’s quite a decent hotel.

A small gem in the old city”

This was my third stay at De Lanna. I recommend it as a no-frills, inexpensive, well located small hotel (with pool) in the heart of the old city. De Lanna has a small reception area manned by friendly helpful staff. The bedrooms are clean, have a modestly stocked mini-bar, a tea/coffee making facility, room safe and umbrellas. Each room has a sitting out area/balcony, and en suite bathroom with the usual amenities. The breakfast is buffet style. The buffet is modest but adequate, catering for both Western and Asian tastes. The pool is of reasonable size and is surrounded by sun loungers. Next to the pool is a small garden with tables an chairs for relaxing or 'al fresco' dining. One adverse comment I would make is that the wooden decking surrounding the pool is extremely slippery when wet. The pool has raised edges and if one is to slip and fall (which I did) one could badly injure oneself (which, luckily, I did not)

Competitive Chiang Mai!”

We loved this place’s pool with the garden feel for relaxing around it. The bathtub was kind of hard for elderly/out of shape to get out of, but you figure it out because everything is so calm and beautiful. Restaurant was delicious. Close to 7-11 and pharmacy. I would definitely go back to this place if not in the height of high season because of space in pool. Plus, the price is righter close to 2,000 than 3,000. They had the perfect size of flip flops and bathrobe for both my husband and me, which was amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent in De Lanna Hotel. It is a wonderful hotel that exceeded our expectations with a swimming pool along the entire length of the hotel building. Great location in Chiang Mai’s old city with many restaurants and shopping possibilities nearby. Rooms are large, all extremely clean and well taken care of. The buffet selection at breakfast is fantastic (adding one or two cheeses may be a good idea). Service is excellent, all the staff from the reception to the restaurant, very friendly and eager to offer assistance.

Excellent service, clean, comfortable, spacious room Nice shower stall, but toilet vanity area is surprisingly small. Nice pool, and tables between trees shaded from sun When it came to tours and transportation back to airport we booked ourselves and were happy

Last minute booking exceeded expectations”

Booked this in July as a last minute booking. Staff were super helpful, breakfast had good options (delicious too!), and the room was just lovely. People complain about the noise but this doesn't bother me so was fine - although might be a problem for some. The room had some nice finishing touches. Would stay here again!

Excellent Stay”

The staff was really nice and accommodating, providing access to shower before room was ready very early in the morning. Very nice and changing selection of food at breakfast. Great concierge / travel desk with great suggestions for leisure activities and booking the right tour. Would really recommend this hotel.

always perfect”

I have been visiting this hotel for almost ten years and I was never disappointed; the staff is friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet and had everything you need including a balcony to enjoy the evenings, the breakfast is good with many choices, the location is right in the center of the old town and you can reach everything on foot

A great value hotel in the old city”

Being such good value, and located so conveniently this was my second year to spend my 5 day Christmas holiday in the De Lanna. Fifteen munutes from the airport this four storey boutique hotel is located in the old city within easy walk to many inexpensive eating places and a few minutes walk from the famous - not to be missed - Sunday Night Market. The rooms are clean, well serviced and comfortable, they include a safe, minibar and tea/coffee making equipment. All rooms have a balcony. Free WiFi was provided. Check-in was smooth and fast. Breakfast is buffet style and offers both western and asian selections. The hotel has a swimming pool of reasonable size surrounded by sun loungers. Tables and chairs on a lawn next to the pool are available. Lunch and dinner are available in the restaurant or at the pool side. All the staff were polite and friendly. For the price this unassuming and informal hotel offers very good value for money.

Nice and affordable”

The De Lanna hotel is good for it is affordable and very well located. The amenities are good, with a traditional architecture around a patio. The pool is not very fancy but pleasant. The staff is very attentionate. We found the breakfast correct, despite what other comments suggest. It is not an incredible buffet but it offers a reasonable choice and the items are of correct quality. The shower is slightly tricky for adjusting the temperature, but if taps are not opened in full, the hot/cold jumps can be avoided. The only minor negative point comes from the bed mattress that I find quite hard, but it fits the habits of a large part of the Asian population, so it is mostly a personal issue. I would be happy to stay in DeLanna again.

Good, comfortable hotel”

Location is good. 20-25 minute walk from Saturday NIght Market, and regular weekday night Market. Ideal hotel location near Sunday Night Market of 3 minutes. ROom 220 is in the front of the hotel, next to the street and can be noisy as the hotel fronts a busy (cars) street. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money with location in a semi-residential neighborhood.

Good location, inside the old Chiang Mai city area”

The hotel location is quit convenience, nearby the sight seeing area and shopping locations, especially the Sunday night market. However, the isolate of the room is not good enough, especially the night time, when somebody speak louder at the next room, you can hear clearly. Besides, the breakfast is not that attractive also. But overall O.k.

Value for money ”

One thing that surprised us was that the hotel charge a fee per minute to make a local call. It's not a lot of money at all but this was something that we have least expected in a hotel of this grade. Other than this, the hotel was all that we needed in Chiang Mai.

No need for city tour”

The location is great. Just walk around and the temples are there already & the sunday night market. Shops & restaurants are conveniently located there as well as all the travel & tours offerings. Rent a bike is also a great idea.
