Great accommodations in a great location ”
Immediately adjacent to the pedestrian mall in downtown Iowa City and next to a parking garage (+ $14/night), this is the 3rd time we've stayed here when visiting family. Nice king room and campus theme throughout the hotel. Young yet professional staff. Will stay again.

I would not recommend the graduate, regardless of the fact that the location is perfect. There was always at least one broken elevator. Sometimes both were broken and we had to take the stairs. It was fine for us because we were only on the 5th floor, but if I was higher than that, or had some sort of condition, it would have been very difficult to get to the room.The ice machine was also broken and there were no water bottles in the room, so there was no access to cold/filtered drinking water. The décor was also highly bizarre and creepy. The bathroom was also much smaller than usual and there were four of us staying so getting ready in the morning was difficult. It also cost us almost $1,000 for the weekend to stay there and the entire experience was not nearly worth that.

We unfortunately had some external issues that affected our elevators and are diligently working to repair them while we understand this can be a very frustrating thing to not have available we did do our best to notify and accommodate guests while with us during this period of time. It still is frustrating that the price is so much higher for weekend's with football games. I understand supply and demand but it feels a little like price gouging.
