Clean and cheap”
Check in time 3 pm. They are anal about it. Otherwise the place was clean and good. Sucky breakfast with caffeine and crossant but you'll get plenty of good breakfast option down the road.

It’s about 20min walking distance to Time square, easy to find, helpful staff, and has a few good food spots around.

Clean and Safe”
Perfect location and decent size rooms (it’s NYC so you don’t spend much time in your hotel room hopefully.) Each floor only has four rooms so it’s easy to navigate. Second time staying at this hotel and it will be my go to anytime I’m in NYC now.

1. Everything in this hotel was perfect (with the exception of access for handicapped, I just had a knee replaced and the stairs were killer). 2. Staff was very friendly and helpful

Amazing location”
Terrific location, helpful staff and tasty breakfast croissants in the morning. The room was affordable, quiet and the air conditioner worked. A great place to sleep after a day of exploring the city.

Great location, price high during the holidays”
We enjoyed our stay around the Hudson new area. A walk away from the main landmarks with nice places to eat.

Old and aged out but did the trick”
The staff was excellent. The building is old and warn out. The room was clean but the rug stained and paint chipping so it looked like it wasn’t clean. There is no place to lock up anything but none of my possessions were touched. The elevator is really slow. No real view of anything. That all said I would totally stay here again if I had something at the Javits Center again. Wish the price was a little more reasonable for what it was and what you got.

Ok Hotel”
The Hotel was ok for what you get in New York. Other than that it's a great location and near Penn Station. Internet is fast and unfortunately our safe in our room was broken. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Misleading Photos”
Everything from the breakfast/pantry area to the room itself was, unfortunately, nothing like what was described in the photos provided by the hotel. Cracks on the tiling on the floor to lamps that were broken but taped together. While the staff was polite and the wifi was great, there is much renovation and maintenance work that needs to be done.

Disgusting practices”
I booked a King room for 2. A friend joined us and I call the hotel asking if there are additional fees to increase occupancy to 3. The hotel says the extra cost is $12 per day. When we check-in, we are told they cannot accept a third person, it is illegal, etc. I request to upgrade my room to double beds and am told they are completely booked. At the same time, a mother and daughter check-in and request to change rooms. A third member of their party did not join them. They do not want to pay for a double room and request to downsize. Hearing of this situation, we try to switch rooms. The hotel refuses. We must keep our respective rooms and my friend is kicked off the premises. Though we prepaid our booking, HRH charges an extra $20 “resort fee” per day not on their website or Agoda’s. There is no refrigerator or complimentary breakfast.

this hotel is Inn. it is very confuse with Hudson CHAIN hotel. very small & similar as general Inn. old elevator & no lounge , small desk, very tiny room. I booked 30sm. but, room is just very small. I do not want to recommend anyone.

Unaccomodating and rude”
The Hudson River Hotel isn’t located in the best of places, but I was able to find it fairly quickly. At first glance it doesn’t seem too appealing to the eye, but it definitely has the basics. Unfortunately when I arrived the front desk staff was no where to be found for 10 minutes. When she finally showed up, she proceeded to tend to the guests who were checking out behind me in line and ignored me completely as I tried checking into my room. I quickly found out they are very strict about their 3PM check in time, and simply do nothing to accommodate an early arrival. When asked if I could get any room that may be available, I was charged an additional $83 for needing a room ASAP and the front desk worker was very standoffish and rude showing no interest to my needing a room a few hours before check in time. She simply said “we are a small hotel and have no rooms available”. Will not be returning here, especially after she tried telling me my signature was not my own on my receipt.
