Регистрация прошла быстро и без нареканий, русская менеджер Елена была любезна. Номер оказался немного меньше, чем ожидали, но в общем не плохой. Санузел довольно просторный, новая сантехника, вполне пригодные средства для душа. В номере было тепло, несмотря на относительно прохладную декабрьскую погоду. Общее впечатление от отеля положительное, но без особых эмоций.

Very nice, great staff, good location ”

We only stayed one night at the end of our 3 week trip, but it was a lovely hotel, very comfortable bed and good pillows! Hard to find for us this trip! Good location for walking to sights, and to the river. the staff were very polite, ordered our transportation to the airport for us. Breakfast was great, we had a view to some Roman ruins out our window too!

This 4 star hotel is a short walk from the Forum and Colosseum, and about a 15 minute walk to some good restaurants across the river. This is a class hotel with excellent services. On departure day, we left early with a prepacked breakfast...nice touch. Definitely recommended.

Not what I expected”

I arrived at the Kolbe as a solo traveller staying for 6 nights at the peak of the holiday season. The hotel has several significant plus points - the location is wonderful (next to the Forum) but in a peaceful back street. Most importantly I had an excellent night's sleep every night - not always the case even in very good hotels. However, my room on the ground floor was very dark (definitely no view - so those who really want a view must book one in advance). It therefore seemed an odd choice to decorate it in such dark colours - the whole effect was quite gloomy. The shower was adequate but very small and not nearly as nice (or as large) as those in the rooms I stayed in on Capri and in Sorrento - not in 4 star hotels. Breakfast was also disappointing - coffee from a vending style machine and not much fresh fruit - again I'd just come from other less exalted hotels that offered a much better fresh breakfast. So it has good points and some less good.

Fantastic Stay in Rome”

The Kolbe is a modern hotel hidden within a traditional Italian building with character and a lovely garden right in the heart of Rome. Our first room on the ground floor (Room 111) was very disappointing as it was soooo small with no opening window only a light well. It was very claustrophobic, we were able to move the following day to Room 238 which was much better, still small but had a window overlooking the garden. Much better. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff, Francesca on reception and the guys in the bar were great. Breakfast which was included was fine, neither great nor poor.

Disappointing hotel for the price”

Of all the Europe hotels we stayed in, this was the most expensive. More than the rate, the city tax was also very expensive at €6 per person/night x 3 nights. City tax is more expensive the higher the stars of the hotel, and this was supposedly a 4 star hotel. I don't agree it's a 4 star. The room was old, bed was hard, shower too tight, toiletries limited (i.e., plastic cups instead of glasses in the bathroom) and worst of all, the breakfast was awful - same bland food everyday and the coffee was quite bad (we had a couple of hotels before that also used Nespresso, but not this bad). The location was a bit of a walk from the bus station and certainly far from the train station. The saving grace was the housekeeping staff who made the room spic 'n span daily.

Great location, fantastic garden where you can sit at any time, also delicious buffet breakfast, high speed internet, helpful staff.

Nice location”

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The location was quite good and within walking distance to many attractions. We were upgraded to a room with nice view and quite spacious. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was enjoyable. The down side of this hotel was that there weren't many restaurant nearby. Best to eat before heading back to the hotel.

No hot water when first use the shower. Turned out that I have to open hot water access which location is very high and beyond reach. The hotel should do it before guest checking in, it's winter!!. No water boiler (the staff was kind enough to lend me one at the end of the day, but they should make it standard). No facial tissue in room. Overall, the stay was ok.

Great location, average rooms, staff underperforming. Not particularly helpful or friendly and reception staff often absent.
