We stayed two nights at Palms before our transfer back home. We came in an early flight from Phuket but the staff made no qualms about checking us in a couple of hours early. They have a tuk-tuk shuttle on offer which was an added bonus as the hotel was a bit of a walk from the main mode of public transportation. But we didn't mind the walk anyway and didn't end up taking the shuttle. We also took the local ferry which was a 10 min walk from the hotel. The room had everything you could want (from a Jacuzzi to a washing machine) and the cleaning staff was great. The reception staff could try to crack a smile once in a while but they are helpful nonetheless. It was a perfect end to our 10 day holiday. I would definitely stay at Palms the next time I'm in Bangkok.
Like having an apartment”
This is a great get-a-way apartment style small hotel. No carpet which is a real plus especially in bangkok where it usually smells. Big rooms with sitting areas and sliding glass doors that open on to small balconies. Nice to get some outside air for a change and perfect for drying the nightly laundry. Corner style jacuzzi large enough for two people with lcd light was great fun. Also has separate shower. The big downside is the location. It's a half hour walk to sukhumvit so you're not stepping outside to start shopping. There's a free shuttle though and motorcycle taxis right around the corner. Regular taxis do drive by although you might have to wait a bit and traffic can back up at certain times of the day. 7-11 next door and supermarket with a starbucks around the corner. Great value thru agoda and highly recommended as long as you don't mind being a bit off the beaten track!
Beautiful Comfortable Well Kept Suites”
It was a very comfortable stay for me. I like everything there is in the room. It was fully equipped with microwave oven, kitchen, fridge, jacuzi, big lcd tv, dvd player. The towels were new and clean. The bed was so comfortable.. the sheets and the duvet covers were clean and so cozy..I slept like a baby..
hotel is good but location a bit of a nuisance due to it being on a one way part of the road on Soi 39, it helped that starbucks was close by but not too many other places to eat, the size of room was excellent and the bed very good too
This hotel is located way out from the happening area but close to the numbers of business building and also near to the Japanese town. The thumbs up is the jacuzzi in the room as after a long day work at least a relaxation could be found here. With the price listed and do have this facilities I can say is the best deal in town although is a bit far from the happening area but it has a service shutter if not taxi is always available with the wave of hands
Very accommodating staff; a pleasant stay”
we booked a deluxe suite and upon arrival, we were asked if we wanted to switch rooms.the deluxe suite was already a spacious room but a very kind man from the staff named ralph offerred us an upgrade to a grand suite. it was a much larger room with a jacuzzi so we were very delighted with that. they also allow late check in and up to a 2:00pm check out. the thing is the hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk to phrom phong station. but now worries, they have a free tuk tuk service to get you out to the main road. around the area though, there are shopping malls, a nearby 711, spa and massage next door and bars/restaurants as well as food stalls. when it comes to in-room amenities, we had an electric stove, refrigerator, a flatscreen tv and a jacuzzi with shower bathroom.
The front staff was a awful... she did not listen and did not follow up. The maintenance sucks as the sink in bathroom was broken and leaked. and the bathroom light was broken. The water was always cold . The location needs up on a one way street bad traffic for getting taxi.location sucked..not close to Petchburi NOR SUKUMVIT!!!
Ok good cheap convenient ”
Plus- next to a 7/11, streetfood, starbucks, large supermarket, spa massage and restaurants all within 2 minutes away. Staff are attentive when asked to clean room. Helpful. Big rooms cooking facilities kitchenette. Negatives- was a good hotel now run down Hot water was non existent, some smell coming from the sewerage pipes, 15 minutes walk to bts, on a one way street but heaps of taxi motorbikes no wifi in room. I have stayed here a few times and would probably stay here again for one or two nights but wouldnt make it a long stay.
Some reviews are over exaggerated, I thought it would looked like some Thai horror movie’s haunted hotel. And it made me paranoid, It isn’t that bad as I thought it would be, room is big and spacious. While at first I thought the location is really bad because of the review but it is easy to get any where, in the morning
6 DAYS OF NIGHTMARE!”
Rooms had pungent smell, the Jacuzzi probably had not been utilized for a long time. Found a lot of dirt & black residues coming out from the jets, which caused our whole entire room smelling like sewage! Had to wait (day after day) for anything & everything; to clean our room, for tuktuk service, to meet the manager. Hotel has no WiFi connection. We had to desperately tap from different sources nearby the hotel instead. False advertising from hotel. Complains were put on deaf ears. This was a horrendous way to start our 2018. There are numerous other boutique hotels in the same price range we could have booked. If you intend to have a good time in Bangkok, this is NOT where you want to start with.
Dirty and broken down”
This hotel used to be OK but they have not cleaned or fixed anything in years. I booked this for family because it is near my home but they found the place scary. The room are large and include a kitchen but the door locks are dodgy, the hall ways are ill lit and feel dangerous. They have not done any maintenance in years
Used to be OK but now just bad”
Sorry I normally don't write bad reviews but this hotel use to be OK a few years ago but they have basically done zero work since the place was built. Lock on room was dodgy, hall way lights not working so it feels very unsafe at night. Rooms are large but smelly and everything just look worn and old.
CANNOT MAKE IT”
Booked this place for a night stayover only but turns out it's so bad I had to check-out. There was no internet signal in the room despite alerting the counter staff 3 times. Paid for an extra bed which feels like it's gonna give way everytime you sit on it. think we are the only ones staying there as I didn't see any other guests throughout the brief stay. Lousy rickety lift, dark spooky corridors.
Bad location, room looks nothing like picture, hopeless staff”
Do not stay at this hotel. It is a really bad location, there is a 7/11 and supermarket near by. There is no restaurants in walking distance. The soi is a one way street half way down so you have to take detours to get to the hotel evertime, very difficult to explain to taxi drivers. I ran a bath one night and the water was leaking out from the bottom all over the floor. I called staff to look at it, He said it was fine. I said what if my pregnant girlfriend slips over on the wet floor. He said he would come back the next day to fix it but never did. The tuk tuk service in non existent. On check out day i asked them to order me a metered taxi van. They told me they could not order me a taxi, the owner of the hotel called his friend who tried to charge me 1000 baht for a trip that cost 250 baht. So on check out i had my girlfriend, newborn baby and all out stuff (including baby stuff and clothes) sitting in the lobby for 1 hour because the staff said they could not order us a taxi. They wanted me to pay the guy who works in there hotel to drive us, which he wanted to over charge me. I had to stand on the street for 1 hour waiting hail a large METERED taxi. They made my girlfriend and newborn sit in the lobby because they would not call a taxi. I have been to thaialnd 15+ times, have a half thai baby and thai gf i know they can call a taxi. Just pathetic service and trying to squeeze an extra $$$$ out of my before i left. DO NOT STAY HERE, LOCATION IS REALLY BAD, and the taxi guy will harass you overtime you go trying to get some money out of you to drive you somewhere. Only good thing was about this hotel was one of the ladies working reception was really nice.
affordable and great location (great day reception service) ”
I would say this was the best place I have stayed in bangkok. I am a budget traveller and I always stay in hotels around SGD 30-45 per night. I am really amazed by how this hotel managed expectations and also the way they turned a potentially unhappy stay to one that was unforgettable and comfortable. I booked this hotel through agoda and for some reason I am unable to write a review there so I am writing it here. I arrived at the hotel and the check in process was fast and simple. I was given my keys and there was no deposit needed to be placed unlike other places I stayed at so it was one less complication. When I went to my room, I realised that the room I was placed in was not a queen size bed but instead it was 2 single beds that were placed together which made it uncomfortable because I could slip through the middle of the beds. On top of that, the room was next to the hotel's water container and the walls made really unusual sounds. I knew that if I remained in that room throughout my stay it would be quite an unpleasant experience. I went down to speak to the receptionist and her name is Rina. She is a very very very friendly person and she immediately checked with the other hotel staff if they could move me to another room as she understood where I was coming from. To my surprise, they moved me to a slightly bigger room without any extra charges. There is nothing much to complain about the new room as everything was working (washing machine, fridge, TV, shower, etc.). 1 or 2 lights were not working but that was fixed the following day after I informed Rina about it. The lights were probably not checked because i suddenly moved to that room so the hotel is not at fault. Only problem about the room is the sewage smell coming from the toilet but that was bearable and not a problem at all. Location of the hotel is also good and taxis are easily available just outside the hotel. There is a 7 11 next to the hotel also. My review is unbiased so i will state
Perfect place to relax for a few days”
We wanted to book a place in Bangkok to relax for a few days after flying in from the UK. The room was clean and comfortable and the en suite had a jacuzzi bathtub which was perfect to soothe sore muscles after the flights. Close to the Skytrain Station, with a 7/11 and street food merchants within walking distance. Would definitely stay again.
Overall pleasant stay with a lovely room, as well as friendly and helpful staff. Recommend hotel to replace Tuk tuk driver, as he is always not around, or refuses to ferry hotel guests to bts/ mall despite within operating hours, even the front office doesnt understand why. This impacts the hotel image.
Good enough for what you pay”
room was great studio apartment style with small kitchen microwave big enough fridge. Tv was a great 42 inch samsung lcd with top quality cable tv with lots of good channels from different countries. Similar to foxtel in Australia. Walk to the bts a bit long 15 minutes but can be easily done as i did most of the time. Great staff. Free tuk tuk. Lots of street food and restaurants available walking distance. Starbucks 2 minutes 7/11 downstairs for late night early morning snacks. Great location. Guest friendly.
