This hotel is simply the experience of a lifetime. Everything is beautiful and the staff excellent. I can only say to go to this hotel and enjoy! Fantastic! Both restaurants were and experience of excellence.

The only place to stay in Delhi, fabulous!!”
The Imperial is a super stylish and comfortable hotel with superb staff. We were upgraded to an Art Deco suite as soon as they realised it was my husband's birthday. Flowers and a delicious chocolate cake followed, all delivered by beautifully mannered and uniformed staff. The suite was extremely spacious, light and elegantly decorated. The pool area is beautiful, again with staff immediately on hand with towels and bottles of water. The spa is great with complimentary use of hydrotherapy, steam room and sauna. Breakfast was literally a wall to wall feast served in the beautiful 1991 Brasserie with everything you could possibly want, including a 'doggie bag' if you fancied taking out some of the yummy cakes you couldn't quite manage to eat! We were slightly disappointed with the food in the evening at Daniell's Tavern. It was our last night and we wanted a special Indian meal, but somehow the vegetarian thali lacked some of the depth of spices we had encountered elsewhere.
An Indian institution”
Terrific attention to detail in this fabulous hotel. Great staff. Seemed in some ways a little more of a museum than hotel.

Could do better!”
Booked four rooms for two nights. Two rooms were smoking rooms despite requests for non-smoking one of which had no hot water. A third room had sanitation "difficulties" and we all experienced small, niggly things - like continuous failing of the door access cards - which should not happen in Delhi's best hotel. It didn't happen at the JW Marriott at the airport and it shouldn't happen at The Imperial.
Amazing Hotel - but not my style”
If you like the style of an old colonial hotel, then you will love this hotel. If you prefer a more modern styling (like me) then you will find this hotel stuffy and crowded. By crowded, I mean there was too much attention from staff. I arrived at 10pm. I interacted with four staff members, who were directly involved in my check-in. Some may love this level of care and attention. I found it crowded and overwhelming. Would have preferred less attention in exchange for more speed. The room is also over crowded. Pillows, furniture, cords, buttons, controls, lights. Too much in the room. Hard to find a space to sit and work. Picked 10 pieces of promotional paper off my bed. Punchline - this hotel will be loved by those that like the older style, colonial, heavy on staff type of hotel. Which is not me
The Grande dame of Delhi”
It was my second visit of the trip and I was welcomed back and upgraded.. which is always lovely.. they remembered me and asked how my adventures had gone. Everything was seamless and to perfection.. Breakfast deserves a particular mention.. exceptional selection and some of it even healthy.. the cinnamon swirls are a triumph.
Wonderful service particularly Megha.. I had a fabulous room..249 had great swim in the pool and particularly impressed by the breakfast selection.. healthy and innovation..excellent restaurant manager Charles also deserves a special mention
Opulent and historic...an experience in itself”
This is the second time I have stayed in the Imperial and it is well worth the money. This hotel oozes history - it is where Nehru used to meet Gandhi to talk about India's independence. The rooms are superb, breakfast amazing, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Love this place!
For years top-standard, charming personnel, fabulous breakfast buffet!”
For the fifth time we've enjoyed the amazing hospitality of this facility! It has become rare that hotels are able to uphold the high standards - nevertheless the Imperial always feels just like home. We've enjoyed our two nights like the first time. The close proximity to the Connaught Place (only 10 mins away by foot) with the small restaurants between the white pillars of the recently renovated arcades is amazing. It was also very kind that we could stay in the hotel until 3pm on the last day of our stay since we had our flights at midnight. The hotel's own paid driver to the airport made the experience perfect. We can also recommend the restaurant within the hotel called "Spice Route". The thai curries are extremely tasty. After a long time the WiFi access is now also included. For years we consider this hotel the best in Delhi which it will remain - especially after our interesting discussion with the Assistant Sales Manager Divan Ghai. We are looking forward for our next stay.
Colonial charm outweighs modern traveller minimums”
My three days ok but I RESENT their dated approach to wifi. I paid around 240 on Agoda for my room per night and was shocked that all wifi has to be separately and expensively purchased. Perhaps this makes them 4 star? Breakfast was. O more than ok, although their freshly baked baguette was very good. Service at breakfast needs better supervision. Lots of men in finery, but they do not seem to focus on guests. I would not choose the Imperial again.
stay for 2 weeks.”
I am disappointed. Disappointed that the love of my life was not with me to explore this hotel. to look at each of the 5000 pictures. to try every item in every restaurant. I had only 2 nights. and it was hurry burly this is not a hotel for the business traveler. it is wasted on the businessman. its a place to rest. recharge. to fall in love. again. and again. to absorb the positive energies of the universe. to calm the mind. to write the next great novel. so to all, do not come here if you are to do business and then leave again the next morning. stay an extra day or two..or better yet, come and stay two weeks. those who are burdened are unburdened. those who are stale can get inspired. and most of all, bring someone. fall in love.
Classic hotel experience in Connaught Place”
Very pleasant stay at the Imperial this time around (despite ongoing construction at the entrance, in Feb. 2014). The historic buildings and colonial era feel are omnipresent, supported by helpful and courteous staff. Restaurants are delicious, if - like so much in Delhi these days - costs are high.
This is a wonderful hotel. It was built in the early 1900's while India was still a colony of the British. I have stayed in several hotels built in this era but the Imperial is second to none. The ambiance was fantastic. There were many reminders of the British Raj era but all the facilities were very modern and luxurious. In fact I did not see any defects in the facility or the service. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and my only regret is that I was only able to stay there for one night.
Into the lap of luxury”
This was my first return to the refurbished Imperial, as I was last there in 1993. A grand old hotel that mixes colonial style with art deco, awash with palpable luxury. Gorgeous prints abound, fantastic environment, price though... do you really want to pay these prices to enjoy the hallowed halls? Currently Metro construction outside main entrance (Jan 2014) makes foot travel less than comfortable...
island of tranquility and beauty”
arrived at the imperial hotel after a long overnight train journey.i immediately felt uplifted and started to relax as my cab entered through the front gates of the property. the architecture and landscaping of the grounds is stunning. checking in i found the staff to be most friendly and professional. the decor of the inside is beautiful. the gallery type corridors are filled with art, sculpture, and artful flower arrangements. a stay at the imperial makes one feel as though they are special.
Gracious icon in the heart of delhi”
We always enjoy to enter the Imperial Hotel, as the first sign of quality is the soft jasmine fragrance that wafts towards you in the beautiful lobby. The service is professional and efficient, and the decor and elegance of the Imperial Hotel just makes you feel like you are staying in a palace. The food is nothing short of superb, and the restaurants' ambience leaves you sitting for ages just enjoying to be pampered. The rooms are fine and spotless, with the softest French bed linen and old-world furniture. What more to say? A stroll in the beautiful manicured gardens beneath the soaring palm trees, listening to Delhi birds singing their hearts out? A swim in the pool, and others say the Spa is like no other.
Impeccable gracious style”
The Imperial Hotel is a Delhi Institution. It sums up the grace and beauty of Mother India, from the decoration and style of the Raj, to the attention to detail and politeness of the staff. The moment you enter the cool spacious lobby and are greeted by the fragrance of Jasmine oil, you feel you will be pampered and made to feel relaxed. I have been visiting the Imperial to eat for more than 30 years, and only sometimes do I stay there, but when I do, I feel nurtured and enveloped in comfort and hospitality.
I highly reccomend this beautiful hotel with a nice pool and spa. You can use sauna, steam sauna and jacuzzi for free. Staff are very friendly and polite. Lovely smell of flowers around rooms.Very relaxing.
Charming hotel with old world service”
I was warned that service in the hotel is curt so I arrived with no expectations for a friendly hotel. I was surprised that although generally this is the prevailing atmosphere, there are some staff who are friendly. The room was comfortable with a walk in closet and wonderful bath. However for the price I expected more like ipod speakers, flat scree tvs, bidets. The restaurant staff was very eager to please. There were three staff waiting on our talbe during a buffet dinner. We were even asked if things were okay by the head waiter about four times which is a bit excessive in my opinion.
