Charged us for something and never got back to me. ”

We have been charged for something even though we didn’t buy a single thing at the hotel. I’ve emailed to find out about it but the James has failed to respond.

Minus the extra small pool and the fact that kids are not allowed after 2, everything was great. ”

Worst experience ever”

Requested for high floor but the receptionist gave me the lowest floor with terrible view(ropes hanging out from ugly metal structures on the roof right outside unit 401) saying the hotel is sold out. That is understandable since I arrived at 430 pm. However, the front desk didn't bother to mention a word about construction job or whatever they were doing right outside my room, drilling and stomping from 8 am with workers yelling and making jokes. They also didn't bother to offer change of rooms throughout my 4 nights stay. I have been to many many expensive and somewhat less pricey hotels as well throughout the world, and I would rather stay in a holiday inn even if the prices were the same with this terrible hotel.

Great stay & friendly staff”

I had a great stay here. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. There’s lots to do within the hotel and lots to explore along the walk to Broadway for shopping. Close to Dean & DeLuca for breakfast too and great cafe for coffee across the road. Don’t bother getting their car to take you to the airport though, an uber will be $30 cheaper.

Trendy Hotel in a nice location”

The James is well run and trendy with a variety of eating and drinking places. It is in a terrific location with good access to the subway. The hotel is clean and the rooms are a little small but well organized. Very nice and efficient staff.

Breakfast service the worst I e ever had. Slow doesn’t even begin to explain. The food itself was not good. I’m sure that my yogurt was actually cream!

It’s very bad experience When I checked in they authorized from my card twice !! And then when I told the guy in th disk he said no I’m didn’t and when I checked out I told him again he said yeah yeah sorry the system was down ,, after i checked out 4 days later they keeping take from my card I called the hotel he said no !! I spoke to the manager she said yeah where are sorry the system is authorized by mistake !! Till now I didn’t get the refund it’s my first time happen to me in hotels I travels over the seas never never happen like that

Luxury Relaxation in a very funky part of NY City”

We wanted for nothing, just to relax in a hotel for 'grown ups'. Gym equipment was great and view from gym was amazing. The rooftop bar and bar area was very, very New York cool. From the James, we could easily access the worlds best shops, cafe's and restaurants and the high-line walk was only a few blocks away. We will definitely stay at the James again, but for longer next time.
