Over-rated - big time”

This is just a large room with good wifi. Nothing else to recommend it. Poor location, no daily clean, shower literally above the toilet, no breakfast or food, 10 minute walk to anywhere of any interest. I went here based on previous good reviews - the Majestic Hotel is 1200 baht including a good breakfast and is so much better than here.

Clean basic accommodation in good spot”

Tile floors, comfortable bed, balcony with clothes rack to dry your smalls and smoke. TV has heaps of channels, but I failed to find one in English, Rooms are not serviced daily. Generally quiet. Good option within easy walk of bars and restos.

Great Choice”

Easy to find. Close to good amenities and the nighttime area of Surin. Very good room, large and clean with a good bathroom good mattress and linen. Pleasant staff. Everything went smooth during the stay there.

A decent place, maybe overrated here”

This hotel gets high marks on other reviews. For me, it was satisfactory. It had what I needed. Clean. Aircon works (unlike other places). No breakfast near. Only one restaurant near. No street food. No transport near It is not a terrible location, but you will be doing some walking to go anywhere. The sign for the place has the name in English, but in smaller letters than the Thai. The guy in the window does not speak English, so it will help if you speak some basic Thai. Facilities: the room, parking, hot water for tea or coffee. Newish place. Everything worked.

The Lion Residence ”

Second time stay!”

This is the second time I have stayed at The Lion Residence.The rooms are big in size,the beds are king size and very soft.The bathroom /toilet is very clean but there is not a separate shower.Cable television is available in the rooms which is good.It is located close to a lot of the bars and restaurants around Surin.There is a seven 11 around the corner within close walking distance.For a budget hotel I can fully recommend this hotel and I will return in the future.

My stay in Surin at The Lion Residence”

It is easy to find the hotel there is a big sign on the road directing you down the soi.Carpark is underneath so motorbikes and cars are not subject to weather conditions.Key card lock on door to hotel and nice clean stairs and corridor.The rooms are very large and clean.The bed was a kingsize and very soft.The air conditioner worked well and there were 200 stations on the cable TV but because Surin is very country most of the stations were Thai and to be honest with you I didn't have time or the inclination to sit there and work out which language the stations were in English.Too much to see around town.There is a 7/11 and mini mart around the corner and an Aussie restaurant on the other side of the main road and down a bit.The bus station,bars and restaurant were all in walking distance.The Isaan club was also very lively and enjoyable.Speed disco is just around the corner if thats your thing or if you want to slow it down The Thongtarin Hotel has a very nice beer garden,live soft music and karaoke if you want and very nice and reasonably priced international and Thai food.

Great for room only accommodation”

Very nice accomodation. Large room in a newly build complex, finished to a high standard. It is a room only complex with no other facilities other than WiFi, but toaa much higher standard than comparable rooms. It is also nicely situated near, but not to near, the night life with bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk
