natural beauty on the ocean”
nothing luxurious about camping in a hut near the ocean but all the things that mattered where attended to: mosquito net, fan over bed. clean, comfortable bed, private bath and shower right behind hut.... only downside is that you can hear your neighbor (next hut over) snore or cough... if you are a light sleeper, this is not for you.
Good value acccommodation on the beach”
The staff are very friendly, the beach is nice. Rooms are simple and meet the needs of someone who wants to spend most of the time at the beach. Nice restaurant under a good cover of trees. Would stay here again :-)
i had a lovely stay in ruan mai nai yang beach...i only stayed there for a day as an airport transfer hotel. the location is superb...literally by the beach. the room was spacious and clean. was pleasantly surprised with the hotel.will definetly come back.
We only stayed here for a few hours on the day that we departed Phuket as it was cheap, on the beach and near the airport. Had a great shower. It was adequate for what we wanted. They also have rooms here that looked nice and if I was staying overnight I would choose one of those.
Pics don’t match rooms”
Only thing i didn’t like was that they lie on the page, they make you pay at the property because they know you’ll upgrade! I got the bamboo hut, which i didn’t expect much but the thing has no ac, only a fan, and the mattress is on the floor with a insect net around it, when i walked in my head hit the ceiling. Other that that the location is awesome, you can literally throw a rock from your room door and hit someone sitting on the beach. The restaurant in the back is beach side with good food and good service!
Dont order Taxis with them”
They're hiring theyr 12 year old son to drive you to the airport at 5 AM. He didnt wake up and then the battery of the Tuktuk was discharged, so we almost came to late to the airport. We had big discussions because first they charged more money than announced in Agoda, and after we booked online they couldnt find the booking and asked us to pay cash.
Such nice staff and awesome beach access”
I've been living in Phuket for several months and my family was flying in to visit me with their arrival very late at night. So we wanted a place close to the airport where everyone could crash. I booked two rooms at Ruan Mai. The staff was ridiculously nice and accommodating. She wanted to make sure that I had a room "on the beach" where as the other room was only 10 feet away from the beach access. Ha. I would have been happy with either. They also arranged a late-night taxi to the airport for me and then for the family the next day to our resort in Laguna. For the affordable price, I highly recommend this place!
Staff was just awesome! ”
Right on the beautiful and quiet beach of Nai Yang. Room was cosy, I found the staff extremely helpful (which is not always so true in Thailand). The lady at reception is a sweetheart ! I wish I could have stayed longer!
Oceanside beach bungalow, just what we wanted”
Short but sweet! Checked in about 10 and out about 10am but we loved our time there and didn't want to leave. We only had 3 days in Phuket and wanted to see and stay in different parts so we kept a moving and exploring but honestly asst went back there for our 3rd and final night bc we loved it so much! We recommend to the simplistic travelers who want the local feel and not luxury living. Bed bugs bit me but still worth the itches and I don't feel bad saying that bc the beds have bug netting on em haha
I stayed in the beach hut. It's a cute little bamboo hut. Very basic. Bed with mosquito net. The bathroom was outside but attached. A little strange because one wall wasn't very complete so the outside can see in if they wanted. Location is great, 30 second walk to the beach. Only complaint, the noise. There is a sound coming from some sort of machine outside, thinking it is a plumbing thing ?? It made this noise every 10 min or so all night.
Perfect beach bungalow”
I loved this place for a short transit in Phuket. Just a few kms to airport. I could hear the waves from my bamboo bungalow. It was cheap and basic but that's what I wanted in Thailand. Walked to the beach in 30secs and walked down main road with plenty of food choices to choose from. Will definitely stay again.
We love the homely bamboo hut style.”
We landed at the airport 45 mins late, and the line at immigration was gigantic (as expected), so when we arrived at the hotel we were so thankful that the lady there had stayed up to receive us! We noted in the booking that it would be a late-night arrival and we weren't sure if anyone was going to be there -- but they were! Taxi fare from the airport was 200 baht, and took about 5 mins to get there. We were exhausted, and it was very pleasant to fall asleep to the sound of breaking waves at the beach close by. Highly recommend the bamboo huts if you like simplicity and rustic artistry (they're really quite a beautiful design). The bathroom is open-air, and it felt great to take a crisp (no heated water) shower out in the warm air. Went to the 7 Eleven nearby and immediately picked up a sim card for my iphone the next morning. Great way to start of in Phuket!
i arrived late evening and the staff was still there to accommodate me...the hotel is very affordable with aircon rooms, cottages, and rooms with verandas...the hotel also comes with a restaurant that serves excellent breakfast and ala carte in their menu...the staff were very friendly and helpful...definitely i recommend to budget travellers such quality hotel...
pocket of surprise”
We loved everything about our stay here. The area is a little pocket of wonderful! The rooms were upgraded for us to air conditioned, which was a welcome relief. The staff although not all were able to speak english managed to help us really well. The restaurants and other businesses in the area are great and the beach quite a delight. We have come back for our spa treatments and meals four times since moving to the next hotel. AAA+
Relatively cheap and good.”
Simple and affordable, I enjoyed my stay here. The bathroom was only cold water but that was OK because the weather was so warm. The beach was very close to the hut and there is an excellent little restaurant on the beach in front of this hotel where I ate most days.
Ruan Mai is located right on the beach. The rooms are modest but clean. We stayed in a conventional room but there are also bamboo huts which are very basic.
Good beach spot near the airport”
Nice hotel ... a little run down, but food is good, beer cold and staff are friendly. Nice area near the beach with trees and places to lounge around.
Nice and simple”
Simple basic nice and easy bamboo hut. Nice staff
Bamboo cottage classic but place on a concrete roof top. No doors for the toilet with brownish water from the tab and shower not to recommend. 50meters from the beach which was nice! But that's all about it I would recommend if it wasn't for the brownish water and the cockroach in the toilet, you can get a better deal in the area
Look around for better value”
bungalows a worth about 10 bucks a night. They moved us to a much better room. Lights shone in all night. The nai yang strip is devoid of Thai culture- stay in off the beach and just walk to the beach.
