Couldn't do better”
The Ruby Hotel provides large, well appointed and clean rooms at a great cost. It is centrally located, especially if you intend to explore the famous Dien Bien Phu battleield. The hotel can supply a local English speaking guide to bring your experience to life. An opportunity not to be missed. Would definitely return to the Ruby.

Great location with view and motorbike rental”
Location, View, Motobike Rental Service
It's very close to the airport and the bus station. The area is the center of the city. You can find restaurants and cafes around (in the other part of the area they are really hard to find). The major tourist destinations are in working distance although someone would feel a bit far. The best thing with this hotel is the motobike rental service which is not generally available in town. While many other hotels are generally for domestic travelers, this hotel might be the one for foreigners in town.

Nice and clean hotel in the centre”
Cleanliness, location, service
We stayed in the Ruby Hotel for two nights and enjoyed it quite much. When we first showed up we were given a room without balcony although on Agoda the room we booked was with a balcony. When we asked for that we were given a 3-bed-room with a nice balcony with amazing view over the city centre. The location of the hotel is quite good, an easy walk to the bus station and some sights and in the main street in front of the hotel you can easily find places to eat and lots of cafés and mini markets. The staff helped with booking bus tickets without charging extra and the breakfast was basic but OK. It was very clean and quite a good standard for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

A Ruby amongst the rubble”
The location was great easy to get to all the museums in foot.
Very large clean rooms, comfortable beds and even a few English programs on the television. One girl spoke good English helping to arrange taxi 37USD to Vietnamese headquarters 3hr trip well worth it. Great vegetarian restaurant 1km away.

Best location, clean room and reasonable price”
Clean room, reasonable price and friendly staff
When we checked in to the room, the light in the bathroom did not work. The smell of the room was so bad that I had to contact the reception to change the room. They came and checked the room and offered us another room that has the view of the valley and much bigger. We feel much more comfortable with the newer room. The airconditioner works well. The bathroom is clean and has no smell. The bed was big enough and comfortable. The reception has so welcoming atmosphere that you want to sit down and chat with everyone after a long trip. The staffs of the hotel are very friendly and helpful. We could meet directly with the owner of the hotel. They gave us a lot of information about Dien Bien including where to go, what to eat, what and where to buy gift. The thing I like about this hotel is they have different mindset and hospitality compared to other hotels in the region. The design of the hotel is unique. The owner of the hotel is willing to hear your true opinion to improve their services. The only thing that didnot work is the lighting above the pictures in the room and above the bedroom. I hope they will fix it to bring the stay at the hotel to the perfection.

Overnight stay”
I can't think of any "best things"
We stayed here for one night while traveling from Sa Pa to Luang Prabang. The place is ok for an overnight stay but it is very basic. There's nothing much around to do, even finding a restaurant was a problem.

Good location”
Good location, quiet but near the centre. Soft mattress is rare in Vietnam. Friendly staff.
I had a single room which was OK but not great value at nearly $20 ex. breakfast. Main problem I had was noise from other guests at night and early morning. Because its all tiled floors in corridors noise echoes around. There were 2 groups staying there and on both nights they made a lot of noise, loud talking and banging doors and then again at 6am. No hot water on second night. Poor advise about buses, there are 2 buses to Hanoi in the morning, 1 at 7.30 and other at 8.30.

Great stay”
Cleanliness, service, comfort
We arrived very early at 05:30, just after getting off an overnight bus from Sapa. We had no issues checking in as someone was able to help us right away. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept in since our whole SE Asia trip. The service was so nice and helpful. The owner even went out of his way to buy us bus tickets to Laos and figured out the bus times for us. Highly recommended. Thanks again!

Room and bath were too spacious for 2 but were clean. Good location. Overall, not worth the price since Dien Bien is not among the most touristy places.

Service, comfort and price
We came to this hotel after an exhausting night bus trip from Sapa. We stayed for one night to rest before moving on to Laos. It was an excellent decision. The Ruby hotel staff provided us with all the information we needed. They wete so friendly even though we checked in and checked out at very strange hours. It is deginitely one of the best hotels we have been to in Vietnam.

Excellent staff , great location, new hotel ”
Friendly, caring staff , great location , new hotel. Large room and a balcony at hallway to sit and look over the river.
We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. It was a inexpensive taxi ride to hotel from airport (5 minutes) . We stayed in room 407 which was large and well laid out. Comfortable bed. Madam Tune and Mr. Bong bent over backwards to answer any queries we had. Mr Bong even drove us around to help us buy some specific machinery. Then Mr Bong took the time to wrap it for transport on the flight. We had booked for 2 nights and ended up stay 6 nights. Perfect location for food and shopping and historical sights.
