Refreshing getaway”
The place was dated but well maintained. It was a very refreshing stay and the air was so fresh. We got a free upgrade during our stay and could use hotspring in the room! We even had the public hotspring all to ourselves. There's some food stalls down the road, and one convenient store on the right hand side after coming down the hill. It was a very pleasant stay and my friend and I enjoyed it!

Hot Springs are interesting, but the building is otherwise uninteresting.”
People go here to use the hot springs, which are definitely unique. The building itself and the rooms are basic, and staying here is not a memorable experience - only the hot springs are worthwhile. That being said, you can stay, and the rooms were old but clean enough.

Excellet hot spring!”
Great place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and does feel like home than hostel. Ruisui area is covered with hot spring lodges but this hostel has its own hot spring onsite which means no need to walk over to other public places highly recommended

Good for hot spring only”
We were instructed to go down the hill to the room which was not very easy to search. Wifi was not working. No electric kitties nor refrigerator inside. Iron rich hot spring water is good. Breakfast place has good view but small for many visitors.

Really nice place with great historical hot spring ”
Really nice place outside city center with great hot spring facilities. Hotel is slightly old (rooms eg) but personnel is extremely kind and helpful. Worth the price and definitely recommended if you are not looking for modern/recent rooms

Pleasant rustic mountain resort”
Lovely, friendly staff and a beautiful location, with a great view over the valley. Our room had no view and was not too luxurious, but very clean. Breakfast is Taiwan-style, vegetarian, pretty tasty. The hot springs pools are good--the iron-rich water does not have the strong smell of the sulphur hot springs and felt good on the skin. The only drawback for us was not having our own vehilce, but staff were extremely helpful in calling taxis for us or arranging lifts down to the town. Ruisui itself is very quiet, and the food choices are not excellent, but it is a good stopping-off point en route between Hualien and Taitung for a couple of days.

great hot springs resort”
My friends and I stayed one night in a mixed dorm with tatami mats on the floor. We soaked in the pools and enjoyed breakfast on the porch the next morning. It was a really nice experience! I'm not sure what you would do in this area other than hot springs, we were just passing through.

Room, view, location
Booked into a dorm room but was given a private room with tatami floor. The hot springs were the muddy type. Good location and nice views from the terrace in early morning.

Hot springs
Massive Chinese tour groups stay here (but bizarrely, don't enter the hot springs). As other posters have note, the walls and doors are paper thin so I was awoken to very very loud Chinese people talking in the hallway. Also there is only a Family Mart nearby for food.
