Beautiful Thai Style resort on the Gulf of Thailand.”
Place took a bit of finding, but very happy when we did. Only thing that blighted the visit was the arrival of tropical storm Phabuk. Since we were about 50 metres from the sea, the resort got a bit of a soaking and the surf was a bit lively for a few days. Had an interesting time helping drain the sea water and cleaning up the grounds after the storm had abated. The storm apart, the resort is very attractive and is built in the style of a traditional wooden Thai house. Accomodation was in bungalows which, although they were showing their age, were spotlessly clean. On the whole was a very relaxing and pleasant stay, happy to recommend and will certainly be going back.
Great rooms for the price but mediocre beach”
This hotel was a great value. The rooms were spacious, and the bed was comfortable. There were only a few chairs on the beach in front of the hotel, but there were even fewer guests. The hotel is located on a dead-end street, so there was very little noise from traffic. The beach was a great place to read during the afternoon and evening. It appeared that the hotel cleaned the area near their chairs. However, the rest of the beach was somewhat dirty. We paid 200B for a songtaew (pickup with benches in the back) from the bus stop to the hotel. There is no convenience store within walking distance, and no taxis pass the hotel. Bring all necessities with you.
nice and quiet resort”
i stayed 3 days in this noice and quiet resort, just 6 bungalows, nice big rooms, godd restaurant, nice garden, very nice and quiet beach in front of the resort. if you want to stay quiet and peasefull, thats the place to be
lovely quiet location”
Lovely and peaceful with a good value for money as many places in Thailand. Quite traditional building and very nice, if a bit dated. Could do with a bit of updating. Located right beside a beach which had no-one else using it. It was just our beach for the weekend. Food excellent which was needed as few other places to eat close by. All round a nice hotel and good experience.
Retreat to Rayong”
For serenity and away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok or any crowd, this would be a good hotel. You can really isolate yourself from civilisation. There's no need to worry about food as the hotel cooks up tasty Thai dishes and serves Singha beer. Just be mindful to inform them to cook less spicily if you can't take the heat. Ask the hotel staff if you need the boats to travel to accompanying Koh Samed island. Overall, this hotel provides a true break from the loud music of Pattaya and busy city life of Bangkok.
Good Service and Location”
The service at Ruen Thai Rim Haad Resort was excellent. Interacting with the via email was easy and quick. The offer a variety of transfer options from Bangkok, Pataya and Rayong Town. The food at the resort was fine, propably as good as anything else in the area. The included breakfast was nice enough. The massage was excellent. The accomodation was very roomy, however a little run down. The air-conditioning and hot water worked fine. Basically you get what you pay for in this case. If you're after a quiet place to relax and aren't to picky about the little details, then this is a great place to stay.
Good place to relax”
The hotel bungalows are spacious with lot of room inside, big bath room & kitchen facility. They also have relaxing balcony space and deck chairs on beach and inside their big lawns to make you see enough of sun. Beach itself is nice but not maintained well. This property is ageing fast and hotel management need to keep up maintenance else it will risk to be old property with poor maintenance. Only draw back was that the hotel didnt have a swimming pool or jacuzzi. Staff was good people and cooked very good food. within 5 miles, there were many other places to dine.
Very relaxing stay”
First off, you will need to have your own transportation for staying here as it is far away from the main roads. But this is the beauty of this place - it's very nice and quiet and relaxing, perfect for a romantic getaway. The staff were very helpful and obliging. Even though I had not made dinner arrangements, they were able to cook up some simple but delicious food for me. I will definitely stay there again.
Nice and Quiet Place”
Nice and quiet place. It is moderately looked after. The beach is across the small road and if the weather is good, it could be good for lying around. Since it's quite some distance from any centers, you will need personal transportation to go somewhere else for food and attractions. On overall, we like the place. Breakfast is sufficient. Hospitality is good.
Peaceful and quiet resort”
Hi we did have a nice and peaceful time at that Hotel. The Hotel manager was very helpful and pleased to show and explain the surroundings. He dose speak well English, but his staff dose not. The kitchen was fine; there may be some other restaurant nearby that we never used. We got also good Thai masseur by asking the manager. The beach site (cleaned every day) was nice and it is possible to walk along the beach. There is very little traffic at the small road in front of the Resort.
Small, family run hotel ”
The beaches in Rayong are not as nice as Samet but staying here you get a quiet stretch of beach almost to yourself. The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent. Order your meals a few hours beforehand for fresh fish, prawns or squid.
On the beach quiet and simple”
the first night was spoiled because we were allocated twin beds rather than a double although it's understood preferences are not guaranteed. breakfast ok but you order the meal rather than buffet - that's ok by me. rooms spacious but simple, showers a bit tatty.
quiet hotel with nice beach”
myself and my girlfriend stayed here for four days. hotel is secluded, quiet, nice beach nearby. we were given a room with two single beds. would have been nicer with a large, single king sized. food was very good. breakfast was included. rooms were ok,
Nice hotel,value for money”
This is a verry nice and calm hotel , with friendly staff. The lady that runs it is a good cook, you surely will not regret to have your dinner here. The hotel is situated on a calm spot , near the beach, which was small but sandy and cleanat the time i was there. Bungalow was clean, staff friendly and willing to help you and make your stay a pleasant one.Would come back for sure. There is also a nice garden with a rooster coming from Myanmar!
Generally nice ,really quiet That poor beach....not the hotels concern i know seems to be typical of Asia..a complete lack of environmental cleanliness..tho down the road i did see a team of people raking the sand of plastics and garbage...the sea brings it in i know..i lived beside the sea for some 20 years..i know some people try..some people care...good to see
Romantic and secluded spot at a quiet beach”
We stayed for five days in this family-run resort consisting of six bungalows only. If you looking for a quiet and nice place away from all the noise and buzz, this is an excellent option. The bungalows are large and well maintained. Service and food is excellent and prices are very reasonable. The beach is just in front of the resort and is usually empty. The hotel provides beach chairs and catering if you want. Ideal spot for a romantic couple or a family with young children. The best option is to arrive by rented car, or you will solely depend on the hotel management to take you anywhere.
Quiet beach-side bungalows”
This smaller family run hotel is actually a main building with indoor/outdoor dining area and relaxation space, and 6 independant bungalows. They are across the lane from a nice quiet beach, and there is outdoor furniture on the lawn, beach, and the decks of each bungalow for you to enjoy the spectacular weather. Warm and sunny in the days, and cool nights, this is a very relaxing and quiet spot. Free wireless internet more than made up for the thai-only TV in the room. Full satellite TV was available in the main building if you need to see some news. Karaoke at night, for those that dare to.
A little corner not far from paradise”
We wanted to find a hotel on the coast so we could go to Koh Samet without seeing to many tourists, we got just that. The hotel is 50 meters from the beach where you can observe the local fishermen bringing their catch several times a day. The internet was free and easy to use, which is always a good thing. But the friendly staff is what we will remember the most, they did everything for us so we could have a good time during our stay. We wish to have stayed longer. Since we are close to the Islands, you can hop onto a boat and in 30mn you are in some nice beaches.
Lovely Thai experience”
I drove down from the airport--two hours to Rayong!--but then I couldn't find the way in the dark--so I was exceedingly happy when the owner came and escorted me to the lodging. From then on, it was a lovely stay--orchids blooming in the trees, a spacious air conditioned room, the gorgeous teak Thai house for breakfast, relaxing, with a view of the beach; I had only one day, but was able to arrange a boat trip and a great massage by a local masseur. Madame insisted on making a specially prepared seafood meal, since I had no time to go to Ban Phe. The beach is narrow, but lovely with views of several islands. They are building a condo complex next door--so the relative seclusion may not last...As mentioned by others, it is relatively isolated--for me a plus--also, motorscooters can be arranged for folks who want to go into town....
ultimate for recreational seekers”
when you are looking for a place where you won`t find any other tourist than this will be your place. But be aware that you should bring your own car or bike because the next village (ban phe) is pretty far away - lets say 10 km. There you will find the ferry/speed boats to ko samed. altough the ressort has its own direct beach and they keep it tidy - their beach is really the best , has style and is kept tidy. They cannot be held responsible that the area of rayong is one where a lot of trash is stranding. better go to samed - we stayed at ao phai (by speed boat 200 one way/ferry 100 roundtrip). The food at the ressort is good - try the chicken with cashew nuts. If you should need something do not hesitate to ask. They will take care.
