Return to Rusutsu!”
This is out 4th season at Rusutsu and 3rd stay at Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention. We are back because our experience here keeps getting better and better, despite missing out on the last 2 seasons due to the pandemic. Because things are pretty much the same as 3 years ago, which some tweaks, we are absolutely ok with the setup they have, including the limited dining options. For others, this is something to keep in mind. If you have a family of four, go for the 3+1 bedroom option. While a little tight on space, it worked for us and you can always move the single beds together to create more space for your luggage. Room cleaning was often done for our room late in the evening, which meant that we would come back from the slopes to an unmade room. That was absolutely fine with us as we usually just dump our stuff and head out for dinner. The new onsen, which was launched just before the pandemic, is great, especially the outdoor part. My 2 boys loved it when it was first launched 3 years ago and still do. It is a must-do daily apres-ski activity for them. The 25+5 hour lift ticket option, which has been launched for the first time this season, is an absolute winner! It halved my lift tickets cost compared to 3 years ago...at the very least! That said, Shinchan Crayon Kids Ski School is the main we keep returning to Rusutsu. They have the most caring ski instructors and we have developed real personal relationship with their key personnel over the last 4 seasons. Ayumi-san, Mishi-san, Nakamura-san, Hashimoto-san and Ms Orange - you guys are the best! We also took Ski and Snowboarding lessons from the Rusutsu school. The 3 instructors we had were great! A special shout-out to Owain Jones, Mylo Allan and last but certainly not least, Mackenzie Spurgeon. Our oldest boy had a blast with you, even though it was only for 3 hours. Hope to see you guys back in Rusutsu next year!

Excellent stay for a ski trip ”
The hotel is very conveniently located at the base of the west mountain Rusustsu lifts and a short gondola ride from the east mountain. The staff was super friendly, rooms were clean, and food was all delicious. The room comes with a ski locker and parking is free in the main lot. We had a great time and hope to visit again.

Very recommended. Ski in ski out resort, good experience here. The resort is huge, many other activities other than ski, and staff here also very helpful. The resort hotel also has nice hot spring!

Amazing in everyway”
Spent 3 nights at Rusutsu Resort and love everything about it. Wish there are more restaurants though but apart from that everything is really great. Would love to come back again soon.

Fantastic stay ”
A family of 4 with 2 young kids (7 & 8 years). We enjoy our ski lesson by the resort. Got a good instructor and we manage to grasp the basic within 1 hour. Breakfast (comes with the booking) and dinner buffet is good at Oktoberfest. If you want to have pocket friendly meals, can buy from seico mart or 7-11 just outside the resort. They have hot Katsu Don, curry rice etc My kids love it and we love it too. We will visit again. Remember to request room nearer to the lobby. Ours was very far away. We stay at north wing.

Stayed at Westin Rusutsu before and I would choose Rusutsu Resort and Convention if I had to choose over Westin. Very convenient because no need to take the tram especially if you ski. Like the new onsen and enjoy the heated swimming pool. Room is spacious and clean.

Great for family”
Stayed for 5 nights. Plenty snow to play with. Easy booking for tours but MUST be reserved in advance to avoid disappointment as they're very popular. Very helpful staff who helped reserved shuttle bus services. Halal food options very limited. But it's near 7-Eleven, which was helpful. Will stay there again for snow retreat.

Magical Experience ”
This place is magical. It is beautiful and has so many cool features to offer. The restaurants are great. The Onsen is unreal. And on top of it all, it is located right next to the chairlift.

Ski resort for beginner learners”
This is a good ski resort for beginner learners. Ski instructors are friendly, patient and English speaking. Slopes are generally not too crowded except for bottom of the slope where the local high school kids are having their lessons. The intermediate slopes are at the eastern (Westin Side) which can be accessed via Gondola.

Pricey with great location and amenities”
On snow accommodation is pricey and this is no exception. Japanese service is excellent as always, great location for skiing and the hotel has all the facilities you need. Multiple public baths, number of on site restaurants and the slopes don't feel busy.

New onsen facility”
The resort itself had a Showa atmosphere. Pretty oldish. The room was clean but smelt a bit old. But the new onsen facility, Kotobuki no Yu, was brand new, clean, and wonderfully designed.

2 nights in Rusutsu”
Room was spacious with balcony. Requested for 1 king bed but got 2 single beds and was not informed until I reached the room to find out myself. Staff was not very fluent in English, only spoke in Japanese and was kinda reluctant when I had some queries. Basic amenities provided. Stayed here for winter sports/activities, nothing much to do other than that. There’s restaurants and convenient store down the streets.

Depends on which building your room is in, it took a long walk from our room to the ski locker room! Make sure not to forget any of your gear before leaving your room! There are a number of restaurants but most of them are very expensive!
