We had a great stay even though it was a short stay. The location of this hotel is great, close to lots of restaurants and activity. The hotel room was very comfortable and clean, we would definitely stay again.

Hotel close to Southbank and all it has to offer. Lots of restaurants around the area, close to theatre and public transport. Hotel was clean and cafe is great for breakfast. nice bar of the third floor. Super comfortable bed, and room was able to be dark without morning light, heaven for a great night's sleep!

Breakfast buffet pretty ordinary. 1 piece of soap the size of a 20 cent piece for 2 people for two nights. When room was made up in the afternoon, they couldn’t leave another piece. Had to ring for more. After over half hour waiting, received one 20 cent piece sized soap, liquid soap in a tiny tube and dishwashing liquid. Other food being served was poor. Great location, clean, lovely pool area.

The bed was so comfortable... literally like sleeping on a cloud. Beware if you have a car they will charge you $40 a night to park it ! This is disgusting in my opinion for guests to have to pay for parking. Also there were no complimentary robes in the room - strange for a hotel of this caliber but they did offer them on request.

We booked king suite, upgrade to deluxe king suite which has river view and the wheel. This is beautiful at night. Suite is good size. Furnitures are not too luxury. Sofa is good. Have small kitchen area with water tap in living room, convenient. Bathroom got a dirt, even I put a note, cleaner not notice next day. Car park expensive, nearby shops n dine close quite early. A lady staff in reception for check-in no smile at all. The concierge man was very helpful. Overall, if u like to stay in Southbank, it is good.

I believe the Front Desk staff should smile more, rather than greeting guests with a frown face, also was asked if I was sure if I have enough money in my card for the deposit😒 (felt a bit insulted) over all our stay is good, room is clean, location is perfect.

Just had one night here. It's a great, convenient location. A bit cramped around the entrance and only provides valet parking at $ 35. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Beds comfortable, balconies with great views across the river to the CBD. The staff were efficient and very helpful with jump starting my car. Café/bar was good Maybe could use some more casual seating.

Excellent service, once again”
Third time we've stayed here and once again impressed with the standard of customer service. The location is great for dining out and/or going to the theatre. The tap in our bathroom wasn't working when we checked in. Informed them when we were on our way out for the night and was fixed by the time we got back. Concierge are excellent and will continue to stay their when we are in Southbank for the night.

We stayed here for a pool party event which was held in the hotel's pool area. Our room overlooked the pool which was great but once we left the event which finished at 5 p.m., the party continued until at least midnight and was really loud as our room was right next to the pool.

I have stayed at this hotel about 9 times. As I have said before in a previous review, it is in a great location, is super cheap, staff are always friendly and the rooms are big and good quality. Its a bit old, but I highly recommend it.

The hotel is conveniently located on grey st in Southbank which is incredibly close to public transport, to southbank (which has the best variety of restaurants in brisbane in close location) and other attractions at southbank. The hotel is clean. The rooms are nice. Check in and out is fast.
Busy Australia Day Weekend”
I was in town on business, it was a very busy weekend due to Australia Day. Check in went well, the rooms hear are large, clean and very comfortable. Over the stay every time I wanted to stay in and watch a movie there was something wrong with the system. The first time it took me two phone calls to get someone to have a look into it. If you have a vehicle you need to have it parked at a cost per day, this is one of my pet hates. I have stayed hear before and both the restaurants in the hotel are great, I tried the room service one night, it was only a toasted sandwich but it was cold and I could not eat it all. I normally find this hotel great but they let me down this time, I understand they were busy so I will give them another go when I am in Brisbane.

I haven't stayed at Southbank before, so can't compare to other hotels. But Rydges does the job. It's old - but what they lack in shiny, they make up for with excellent service. The staff know their shizz and aren't afraid to show it off. The location is incredible for access to Southbank's markets, bars and restaurants. I will stay again!

good location very close to all tourist things.very good service nice size room but bathroom a bit below average in the price range.did not know about the a night to park your car ,which made it pretty expensive.
the hotel is nice and well equipped with fairly good view. I love the kitchen and the lounge room as well. Thier elevator key access is high tech and easy to access. it was really good to have two bath rooms which makes it even more convenient. I have stayed there for a couple times and i will go back to it again.
Our short 2 night stay was made so much better by Sarah at check-in. We had a long trip and arrived at the hotel to have the wonderful Sarah upgrade us!!! We were blown away. She was very friendly and we appreciated this gesture immensely. Before breakfast (Bacchus, amazing value for money, pre-book) I went looking for some green tea. Rochelle in the restaurant, kindly obliged with 4 bags. When we arrived for breakfast she asked how I enjoyed the tea (a gorgeous blend of green tea & citrus). After finishing an amazing breakfast, Rochelle appeared with a little box full of the blend!!!! So considerate. It's the little things that the wonderful staff at Rydges do that make such a difference to your stay. THANK YOU girls xxx

I would stay here again. We booked for NYE so was expectedly expensive. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs the following morning was terrible. We got the wrong orders, they forgot our coffee's and the wait time was very long. Won't go there again.
