a huge cockroach.. and malcaculation of extra charges..
I saw a huge cockroach in my room on my second day but don't know whether it has been caught after the room make up. And the housekeeping wrongfully charged with mini bar items and had to recheck every single detail from the list to take out everything I did NOT use. The receptionists were kind and helpful.

Rooms were ok, staff were ok
Not terrible but for 4 stars I'd expect the shower not to go hot and cold and for their spa to be working.

Noisy room
Well our first stay at Rydges Adelaide was quite disappointing. We had a spa room and were placed near the lifts. It sounded like a whale all night and morning. The bar fridge was also running almost all night so we had to turn it off as was very loud. The pipe work for the air con was hardly even attached to the wall which looked tacky. Also the bathroom is well in need of an upgrade. All the taps were tight and and had round handles which made it difficult to turn on and off especially with wet hands. The spa bath had so many chips in it too and the shower over the spa was in a terrible spot so couldn't even have a proper shower. On another note. The staff were lovely and tge food in the Skyline restraunt was delicious. Overall would not stay there again until an upgrade is carried out. But would return for food.

Not an indoor Pool
The pool was semi-enclosed which meant the ceiling was open; which is usually not too bad when swimming in winter. However, To get to the pool: the lift opened up to the front entrance of the bar and restaurant, you had to walk outside along a balcony past all the drinkers to get to the pool, and the bar's male toilet entrance had a glass door that looked at the pool. Walking back across the balcony in dripping wet swimmers was freezing. The room said WYSIWYG, we saw a balcony, we didn't get a balcony, the front desk took 2 phone calls over 30mins to be bothered to come and fix our TV. There were no channels or movies for children in their so called Foxtel/movie pack. Do not put the shampoo or conditioner in your hair, it's like waxy paint stripper. THE GOOD POINTS The buffet breakfast was lovely; they heated your croissants, made eggs to your liking and had a "make your own pancakes" machine. The room was pretty and clean, the bathroom also nice and clean but very basic; shower, toilet sink. The mini bar was decently priced and not way over the top, so was good in an emergency. I'd say a 3.5 star but they could defiantly step it up to 4.5 with a few changes.

Good Hotel in a Remote Corner of the City
The staff were friendly. Hotel room was clean. But too far away from city centre.

Comfortable clean hotel
I enjoyed my stay, the room was clean, roomy bathroom, service was excellent. Location was a bit far from the city but. Oh and the noise from the traffic at night was kinda annoying. Tram stop is located 1km away from the hotel, too. The park with playground is across the road, great for family with kids.

SO many things that need attention.
Room not ready by 2 pm although we were told in the morning they would ring us if ready before 2pm. Room changed by reception staff resulted in special requests not being adhered to. Restaurant and Breakfast Bistro out of kilter to today's needs. Poor service with in room catering. Need microwave in rooms seeing you are so far from any worthwhile food outlets. Etc. Etc,

Neat, tidy, excellent facilities.
Location was perfect for me attend business at the Showgrounds. Room was spacious, quiet. I had a wine & snack in the bar & both were great.
