Great hotel in a convenient location”

Pros: The Ryogoku View hotel was perfect for our stay. The hotel is a really good value for your money and totally underrated. Its very nice and simple in a very cool area. The rooms were clean and tidy and the housekeepers were phenomenal. My mom got sick half way through the trip and stayed in the room for three days straight. They made sure she had everything she needed. We stayed in a superior twin and had our own shower (a plus for a hotel in Japan). The hotel is very centrally located. Tons of restaurants and stores in the area. The train station is right across the street. If you’re up early enough you can catch all the Sumo wrestlers coming in for training. Cons: Not many of the staff speaks English so if you do not speak Japanese, make sure you have a translator app downloaded. Majority of the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful with the exception of one guy. Not sure if he was having a bad day or two, but just seemed like he couldn’t ever be bothered.

It exceeded my expectations. I love it!”

We had a great stay at Ryogoku View Hotel. Hotel employees were so friendly and approachable. We didn't have any problem at all while staying at the hotel. The room was clean as well and they have reminded us that housekeeping will be cleaning the room everyday as long as you put the sign on the door. Hotel is right across Ryogoku station so you will not have a hard time on transportation. I will definitely stay here again once I get back to Tokyo. Thank you!

Good location and Value for money ”

Ryogoku View is conveniently located beside JR station and surrounded with a lots of eatery and family mart, McDonald’s just opposite the hotel! Toei Line subway also just 600m away if you are travelling with Tokyo metro/subway day pass! The room is so big with 3 beds and 2 futons, very comfortable, toilet is so spacious with bath tub and shower facilities. They changed towel and tidy our room everyday, we like the cleanliness overall. Our 4 nights stay here made us family feel memorable and we definitely recommend to friends and everyone!

Right Next to Ryogoku Station”

We were surprised that it was located just next to JR Ryogoku station. we expected it to be noisy in the morning. I don't know if it was us being too fatigued or it's just Japan where everything is really neat. It was not that noisy at all though we could hear when the train approach and leave. We booked the 4 persons room, it was rather small that we needed to squeeze in a little bit more so that we have space to put our suitcases. But the room was nice especially the bathroom. It was bigger than that of we stayed earlier in Asakusa. Overall, we had a good stay in Ryogoku View Hotel.

Excellent Property and location ”

Decently sized room - that was fully equipped. It had an air purifier, locker and a free "take-out" smart phone with data facility (which was a life saver for a couple of days). The Bathroom seemed newly done and was well equipped. Entirely happy with my stay. The location is right outside the Ryogoku station. Though Ryogoku itself is about 10 minutes away from the main hub, its a breeze to commute through the Tokyo Metro system. If you are ok with Ryogoku as a location, I would totally recommend this hotel, in a heart beat.

The Best Choice When You're in Tokyo”

I couldn't ask for better accommodation than Ryogoku. It's the ultimate value for money, especially if you're traveling in groups. It is across a JR station while the subway is only a few minutes away by walk. The Edo-Tokyo Museum, which is one of the most beautiful museums there, is only 300 meters away. You'll never run out of good and affordable places to eat whether you're craving for an Italian meal or a bowl in Matsuya. It is also beside a hospital while below it is a nice, cozy cafe. Across it is McDonald's while Family Mart and Newsday are only a few steps far. We had a smooth check-in and check-out process while the staff were all friendly and hospitable. Unless you put up the Do Not Disturb sign, they will clean your room and replace all your linens and towels. They will even replenish your used amenities if you tell them. Our room was small but enough for four. You can bring food inside, which helps when you don't want to overspend. This hotel is just perfect!

Room with 4 bed”

The hotel location is very convenient, located beside JR Ryogoku Station, just 2 stop away from Akihabara. There is also a Toei Ryokogu Station near by, about 5 min away. Suggest that you check out the breakfast deal that comes with it. There are also lots of food eateries nearby. The hotel is abit dated, door access is still using a physical key. One of the bed in room is converted from a sofa bed. Will be quite spacious if 3 bed is needed. With the price and convenient, recommended.

excellent location”

The hotel is directly across the street from the Ryogoku JR train station. It is less than a 10-minute walk to The Edo-Tokyo Museum and a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the Hokusai Museum. Both of these museums are excellent if you are interested in Japanese history or art. Everything about the hotel was very nice. The bed and pillow were very comfortable. The staff were very kind, even offering to lend me an umbrella when I went out.I also enjoyed the breakfast. There are also restaurants, bakeries, convenience stores, etc. nearby. It was a very nice hotel in a great location!

Excellant Basic Hotel”

Room is typical Japanese size. (i.e. small). No facilities but staff friendly and room clean and tidy. Location is right next to JR Ryogoku Station. 20 minutes to Shinjuku and two stations from JR Yamanote Line. Toei line is 10 minute walk away. 24 hr restaurants next to hotel as well as Convenient Stores. It is cheaper than the Downtown hotels and in my opinion, its location is still very central to the Tokyo attractions.

Best night in Tokyo”

This was our last night in Tokyo and was glad that the hotel gave us free upgrade to their biggest room. The toilet was superb that comes with Jacuzzi Bathtub. The location is also great. A lot of food options downstairs. 2 mins walk from the Ryogoku chuo-sobu line and about 8mins walk to the Oedo subway line(15mins to Tsujiki fish market). Would definitely be back due to it convenient location

Hotel has own restaurant at ground floor & it is nice environment. McDonald is just opposite the hotel. Conclusion, it is a very near walking distance to all places.

Exceeded expectations in every way”

This hotel was better than what we expected based on the photos on this site. Room was spacious for 4 although we were provided 2 futons and 2 beds. Spacious Bathroom with jacuzzi which was a nice touch. Very clean and balcony had a great view. Breakfast was great with good choice of japanese/ western fare. Location was excellent as it was literally right next to the train station which connects directly to many popular attractions in Tokyo. The street next to the hotel comes alive at night with many restaurants nearby. Overall excellent value for money

The hotel at the exit of Ryogoku Station”

The hotel's location is wonderful. It's at the exit of strategic JR Ryogoku Station so you can ride JR train conveniently and it's located only 5 minutes walk from Ryogoku Subway Station. Along the street between the hotel and the train station, there are many restaurants and convenient shops. Many of them sell cheap food and other stuffs. The hotel is good and has all of basic facilities. I highly recommend this hotel for traveller who mainly travels by JR train and looks for economic hotel in peaceful atmosphere.

Exceeds our expectations ”

We stayed here on our first night in Japan so all we really need is a place to sleep before moving on to the next city. The hotel was right across the street from the station and you can actually see the building from the platform. The staff was very helpful and the room was very nice with complete amenities. As most hotel rooms in Japan, it’s quite small but there was no issue for three of us to move around the room and we can even open our suitcases at the same time! The Ryogoku area is famous for the sumo culture, so we recommend you to try the sumo wrestler’s meal or Chanko. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would stay here again especially if you need to catch an early train.

Nice Hotel, Convenient Location, Professional Staff”

This is a very well run and maintained hotel in a location convenient to JR Ryogoku Station, the Kokugikan and the Edo Museum. Lots of dining options in neighborhood along with grocery store and multi convenience stores. The bathroom was very nice, higher end plumbing fixtures, nice layout. Sliding door opens to balcony allowing fresh air and light in the room if desired. Buffet breakfast was enjoyable, I am going to miss healthy multi dish Japanese style breakfast. Overall one of the better hotels I have stayed at in Japan, outstanding, plus rate is very competitive when booked in advance.

Sumo District”

We enjoyed our stay. While the rooms are still tiny, it was a bit bigger than some of the other Tokyo hotels we've stayed at. We appreciated the slight extra space in the bathroom. This hotel is right across from JR Ryogoku Station which was very convenient. (Just a warning, if you are riding the metro though, non-JR, you'll end up coming out of the other end of the station which is a bit of a walk especially when it's pouring rain! >.<) This is the sumo district so you get to see a lot of statues, pictures, and art of sumo wrestlers. I found that extremely fun. You can also find lots of restaurants that serve Chanko, basically sumo food! It's delicious. I highly recommending it but go with a group, it needs to be shared.
