The kaiseki dinner was about 12 meal course which you can try traditional Japanese food and staff explains everything as the dish comes out. The staffs were very nice and kind. Our family really enjoyed staying here. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Pleasant onsen experience ”
We arrived late in the afternoon due to a traffic jam at a town nearby. We called and informed the staff who had kindly waited for us. The entrance was slightly confusing at first but once we have passed through the main gate we could see the staff waiting. They helped carrying our bags to our room then proceed with the check-in with an awesome welcome drink. Our room was nicely prepared with an inroom onsen and the water was from the hotspring as well. Both dinner and breakfast were so good that we were impressed. The servers were very friendly and introduced the dishes clearly. We would definitely come again in the future! Thank you for the great services!

Dennis from Hong Kong”
We had a wonderful stay at Aura Tachibana and I can highly recommend the hotel. + Great location (only 5-10 mins to walk from train station, regular shuttle service on demand) + Fantastic Japanese/Western style room and facilities (spacious room, open-air bath on balcony, 1 public bath for each M/F, 2 private baths on top of the building) + Amazing meals (we had breakfast + dinner) with waiters taking time to explain the different courses + World-class service!!! We will definitely be back!!

Amazing Ryoken overlooking Hakone Yumoto ”
Hotel was easy to find despite it was raining that day. Hotel staff were extrmemly polite, friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and beautiful and the private onsen was the best since the Ryoken was located higher than the rest of the hotels, making no instructions to the view. Food and tourist places around Hakone Yumoto was within walking distsnce. Definitely worth coming back again!

Aura Tachibana is a modern Ryokan that offers good value to people with a moderate budget. Facility-wise, it cannot compare with some of the more luxury ryokan brands in Hakone (for example, no garden), but it is clean, comfortable, spacious, and the staff was very helpful. They gave complimentary sake and private onsen access to my friends who got engaged on the trip and even helped fix their suitcase! Dinner and breakfast were in the restaurant and was delicious, only it felt a little bit rushed compared to my previous ryokan experiences. This ryokan also has rooms with private onsens. The private rooftop onsen was easy to book at check-in for those who does not have an in-room onsen.

Wonderful Overall! ”
I stayed here with my boyfriend and we both LOVED it. We decided to shoot for a room that included its own open air bath which was totally worth spending a little more -- it was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The staff were kind and all spoke pretty decent english which was very convenient for us. We chose to have breakfast - the breakfast the first day was fantastic and the dining room it was served in was so lovely as well. The second day breakfast wasn't as good, but still had some really good parts to it. We didn't know there was a dinner option (there's no indication on Agoda's site that there was) so we didn't get dinner -- if that's something you want I would try sending them a message before your arrival to see if it can be arranged. One more thing -- while this hotel is walking distance from the Hakone Yumoto train station (about 20 minutes walk) it is up a very steep hill. I don't suggest anyone elderly, disabled, or with very young children try to walk - take a bus!

Wish we had a longer stay ”
We stayed during a 3-day Japanese holiday. Hakone itself was really packed, so I suggest looking up holidays before booking. There were a good number of English speakers here in case you need. We enjoyed the view and our private bath from our room. Room was definitely big compared to Tokyo. The bed was low and not as thick. I like abit of firm, but my partner does not. Dinner and breakfast was great and so much food. I didn't have good wifi days before we arrived, and I missed their message asking about substitution. We didn't want to make it a big deal since he was capable of comsuming fish, but just tired of eating it since it was a staple in many of our prior meals, so we told them it was ok if they couldn't do it. They were able to accommodate my partner's request to substitute fish at the last minute which was sweet of them and he really appreciated it. I would've liked to have tried out the onsen, and hope to be back in the Hakone area again. Staff was warm and helpful

great stay!”
the hospitality here was out of this world. staff is incredibly helpful. will definitely recommend to friends and family. i would say that the facilities are on the older side but well-maintained with thoughtful touches. it's about a 15 min. walk from the hakone-yumoto station, which is extremely convenient.

Relaxing Oasis”
Luxurious accommodations and dining at this establishment. Staff are super accommodating and are well versed in a few languages so communicating is easier. The facilities are top notch, with little details shining through in their preparation and execution. Definitely will return.

Excellent service, nice staff, but the location a bit far away”
As title mentioned, if you drive is ok. Otherwise you may not like the location. But the services are really good and deeply make me need to go again in next trip

Excellent Service, Great Private Bath both inroom and rooftop”
Pros: -superb customer service from arrival til check out (booking, check in, room cleaning, complimentary gift, check out) -location is just a few minutes away from train station -clean and modern inroom open air bath -private roof top open air bath has excellent nature view Cons: -for non japanese food/sashimi lovers like us, food option might be a little tight -carpet along the corridor smells a bit "fishy"

Beautiful place”
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful ryokan with private onsen within the room for 24/7 onsen experience (please don't do that). Facilities and toiletries provided were also very complete. Nothing lacking except for the place being slightly old. There should be a bus or shuttle bus but if you're walking up from the station, it is quite a climb uphill so don't do it if you have a lot of luggage.

Very good”
Staff was very courteous and accommodating and the meals were excellent. However, the room could have been cleaner and the onsen had debris floating in it.

Good Value”
Both the room and food are fine. The lobby of the hotel is very modern. The staff is polite and good manner. Some rooms still need to be improved - (1) no instructions of how to dial room to room and need to go to the Reception to ask; (2) when I go to the Reception, only the guard was here and he said he cannot speak English. When I asked any staff can speak English, they said we have to wait until tomorrow morning.
