We went to japan to celebrate my girlfriend birthday and I asked for a surprise birthday cake and they delivered it as requested. Staffs were really friendly and helpful. One night the onsen was fully booked and closed at 11.00pm but the staff was willing to open for us to use until 11.30 it was really kind of him. Will come back and refer to friends!

very enjoyable place to stay in great location”
this was my first time visiting japan and i asked a friend who had visited previously if he could recommend a ryokan for me as i was keen to stay in a traditional japanese hotel. my friend recommended the ryokan kamogawa in the asakusa region of tokyo, as he had stayed there previously on his travels. i am very pleased with his suggestion, as i had a fantastic stay. the staff were very polite and helpful, the room was just what i was hoping for, very simply and seemingly traditional (i say this as obviously i have nothing to benchmark against on the traditional front). my regret i that i did not have a chance to use the bath, but this was my own fault. the hotel is located right in the heart of asakusa, which is a very beautiful part of tokyo.

good location hotel”
We have a blast because of the location of the hotel which is very near to 3 train station, asakusa line, ginza line and tsukuba express. Hotel is next to sensoji temple and various tourist attraction such as temple street market and asakusa tourist center. Only two stations away from akihabara. And more importantly walking distances from a numbers of halal restaurant such as Ippin, Sekai Cafe, naritaya ramen and saray. Friendly staff that will always ready to help you although not all of them can understand english but still ok as one of the staff can speak english very well. Overall the Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa Hotel is very good and recommendas for group travellers.

Wonderful ryokan at a great location”
we booked a room with this ryokan because of all the nice reviews and its location--and let me tell you, it fulfilled our every wish. first off, it was super easy to find from the subway exit. in fact, we even passed by nakamise street and the entrance leading to the senso-ji on our way. secondly, the hotel staff that greeted us at the reception was very nice and friendly. and even recommended some places to eat! as for our room, we booked a room that had its own toilet and bath. i say this because i think some ryokans don't always have that option. anyway, having said that, the bathroom was small. the sink was a step away from the toilet, which was right next to the tub. still, it's a ryokan and i expected it based on the type of place it is and the cost. the bathroom is clean and my only complaint is that there was a weird stain on the shower curtain. the ryokan also had a public bath, but i am unable to comment as i didn't get to use it--through no fault of the staff. i just didn't get the chance as i only stayed for a night. as for the sitting room and the room itself nice. the sitting room was a bit bigger than i expected. i love the spaciousness as it allowed me to relax with my husband as well as blog about my experience. the bedroom was utilitarian and futons were comfortable. i loved that you can heat both the bedroom and the sitting room! also, they allowed us to leave our bags there the next morning while we went around asakusa. for free!! and the location was fantastic. i was a hop, skip, and a jump away from shopping and senso-ji. i will definitely recommend this ryokan for anyone who would like to take a day to look around asakusa, but also to those who want a decent location from the metro.

Amazing ryokan in a brilliant location”
After reading the reviews, we simply had to book it. The owner was there when we arrived and we were greeted very warmly. The reception staff speaks good English and was very helpful. We were able to book the hot bath for private use (or you can write your name down at the ryokan) which was a lovely experience. Great futons. Just the odd noises during the night from the streets. We also had the Japanese breakfast which was Y1800 pp but really nice. Lots of side dishes, amazing grilled salmon, 2 types of soup, and the best rice we’ve had in Japan. The location was so good, we were right next to Sensoji temple shops. Also about 10-12min walk to Asakusa station. This place is a bit pricey compared to your average hotels but worth it for the experience!

convenient”
The location was perfect for us and ryokan style, where the whole family can have a chat over Japanese green tea, sitting around the Japanese style low table, was really relaxing. It was very kind of them to offer all the customers breakfast for free because they said they were feeling sorry for the inconvenience made from the construction work being done at that time. Thanks to this hotel, our stay in Asakusa turned out to be great!!

Lovely ryokan in the nice and traditional area in ”
This ryokan was an excellent choise for experiencing the Japanese type of hotel. It seemed a bit like a hostel, but catered all the needs we had. We enjoyed also the breakfast which cost extra but was well worth the money. Location is a bit far but with the subway network it's well reachable. The area is well suited even for families and there is the beautiful Asakusa Temple right next to the hotel as well as the shopping street.

Great stay in an authentic Japanese ryokan.”
The ryokan was about a 10-minute walk from the train station and was easily enough found through the help of Google maps. Greeted by the friendly concierge and had an easy check-in after them making a photocopy of our passports. The concierge was fantastic - had great recommendations for food and even went out of his way to walk us partly down the street to show us the restaurant we wanted to go to. The room itself was very roomy - we stayed on the top floor and the door opens up to a mini corridor for us to put our shoes and don slippers before we enter the tatami room, which is very spacious. The quilts were super fluffy and the mattress was very comfortable, and the air-conditioning of the room was just nice. The room itself was very clean, but it was the small details that made it fantastic - from the green tea set for our personal use, complete with teapot, to the heated bathroom seats, to the kimono style bathrobes for our personal use and Shiseido toiletries. We even managed to enjoy the private bath (just ask the concierge to let you know when it's available as it's very popular!)

Unbeatable location, great service”
I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in the Asakusa area. The rooms are clean, bright and comfy. Reception was very helpful when I asked them to help make bookings, inquiries, etc. they have a nice cozy cafe where you take your breakfast (freshly made). It's literally 3-4 min away from the senso- ji temple, and has many great eating places beside it (decades old tempura and eel places)!

Authentic and conveniently located”
I was there with my grown son who had used this hotel six months prior. An excellent choice. The room was traditionally Japanese which was one of the experiences we had looked for. Since we did not intend to spend too much time in the room anyway, size was not important and we can have luxury at home. For the average Westerner, the room was probably considered small, but as I said, we knew that when we booked. To our surprise, we ended up getting a private bath in the room, but honestly, I wish all shared bathrooms were as nice as the one for this hotel. A nice touch was the water cooker with fresh water daily, a tea set and a supply of green tea. The room was equipped with TV and refrigerator. As we stayed for two weeks, storage space for our clothes was the only thing non- sufficient as there was no shelve space. But as I said, if traditional is what you want, it is perfect. The staff is wonderful. I will book this hotel again. Next time with my husband.
