Value For Money - Simple Couple Travelers”
Simple ryokan with basic amenities provided. Don’t expected much from this hotel with this value as it is a very simple hotel. Super clean and tidy, however location is quite hard to get to. Best is to travel with the Hakone Free Pass and minimum luggage because the ryokan is only accessible via the local bus (and you will travel a lot with the buses) and quite a walk up to the ryokan. You can get to this ryokan by taking the Hakone Tozan Bus T (from Odawara), alight at Miyagino Eigyosho Mae stop and take about an 8-mins walk to the ryokan. There’s a 7-11 by the main road which is good enough for us to settle simple meals. Do remember to grab a bus map and schedule before getting there as you’ll need to refer to them a lot. Overall it was a good stay and will recommend for the value, clean and simplicity of the ryokan. Super friendly staffs but not very proficient in English language.

A ryokan that is worth revisiting”
Pros: Direct hakone-tozan bus from odawara station. Take bus T (togendai) and alight at Miyagino Eigyosho Mae, it's highly recommended than walking from Gora station as the walk could be unsafe during bad weather as it can be quite slippery. Buy the hakone free pass as it would save you a lot of money. (The path leading down to the ryokan from Gora is relatively steep, so avoid luggage.) Free massage chair at the lounge, free Japanese public style bath for 3 persons with a small onsen that we thoroughly enjoyed. Comfortable tatami style room with futon. Complimentary yukata for authentic Japanese experience. Friendly English speaking staff. Electric kettle, hair dryer, towels, toiletries are provided. Cons: Beside a cemetery but no matter cause it's peaceful. There's only one Chinese restaurant, one ramen restaurant, one Italian restaurant and 7-eleven about 5 mins walk away. We suggest getting food supplies from odawara station before heading here.

Very clean and kind atmosphere”
- clean and well-kept, plus the bath is great! very very worth the cheaper price compared to other ryokan in the Hakone area - staff were very friendly, spoke limited English but happy to help with anything - clean rooms with everything you need, of course towel and yukata are provided as well - very good breakfast meal portion and well-stocked condiments and beverages 24/7

Nice value ryokan”
This ryokan was a good value compared to other ryokans. The facilities felt very new. The room itself was a bit cramped and had a shared bathroom. Enjoyed the use of the shared onsen. The Japanese-style breakfast was very good. The location is close to but not in the main Hakone tourist area, but you can reach the Gora area with an uphill hike or by figuring out a bus.

Was kind of blown away”
Now when staying at budget spaces I generally check my expectations, but man, was I spoiled staying here. They upgraded my room since it was low season, and the whole time I was treated with not just professional but warm and friendly hospitality. The room and common spaces were clean, homely and very pleasant. The bath was simple but very satisfying, the tub being filled with direct, unprocessed hot spring water - which in Hakone means a clear, faintly fragrant pool. After a bath you can find comfortable heating and freely usable massage chairs in the common area, and if you'd rather not do the limited restaurant options nearby, you can take out from the convenience store near the bus stop, and make use of the microwave oven and the hot water dispenser in the common area. Breakfast is recommended - a kingly serving of soup, burger, salad and desert. Access is reasonable: take the bus to Miyaginoeigyoshomae - or do a short but steep hike (through a lot of stairs) from Gora station.

Large family of 11”
Inn owner was very nice and patience. Although we had the whole level 1 to ourselves, despite using the dryer, our clothes didn't get dried and we hanged all around the whole level 1. The same night we got back, all the clothes and undies were gone?!! They were all transferred to proper hangers at laundry (which initially was not given). Facilities is as good as a minsuku but things like towels have to rent and hanger not given, washing powder no have with washer (coin operated), no cup or cutlery provided. Except these minor details, the rest of the stay was great, the onsen was great. Breakfast is a little dull - burger daily but for the pricing, its already consider fantastic as hakone dun have cheaper accommodation than this. Most impt - those who not driving, please forget about booking this inn. Luckily we were self driving where this inn is accessible. 30mins from the station and up/down hill.

Good for solo traveller without much expectation”
It's just few minutes walking distance from this hostel to Miyagino Sales Office Bus Stop (Miyagino-eigyosho-mae). If you purchase Hakone Free Pass you may travel from this Bus Stop to Odawara st., Hakone-Yumoto st., Gora st., Sengoku-kogen for huge pampas grass field, Gotemba Outlet/st., Miyanoshita then to MotoHakone for the sightseeing cruise or alight at Hakone-jinja-iriguchi for Hakone Shrine, easily via Hakone Tozan Bus. I find it quite convenient. There's a 7-11 opposite this Bus Stop so you could get some snacks/food/beverage before you head back to hostel. One of the nights I did my dinner at Gora st. before headed back to hostel via Hakone Tozan Train to Miyanoshita followed by Hakone Tozan Bus to this Bus Stop. You just need to look out for the train/bus schedule (which differs on weekday and weekend) and plan accordingly. There's an onsen in this hostel which is a plus point! You do not need to travel for onsen, I didn't go for other onsen so I could not compare.

Very helpful staff”
Highly recommended which I felt so happy to serve by very nice and helpful staffs. Bus stop is nearby where I can go around hakone area by bus. Nice cafe with friendly owner can be found at second level of a Chinese restaurant located at bus stop outside.

Very nice family run hotel”
The owners are really nice people, very considerate and helpful. You can see they are working really hard to try to provide all guests the best experience. I would highly recommend this to everyone. The food is delicious, both breakfast and dinner. I saw some review says the hamburger in the morning is not good, but we tasted the freshness of the meat, the owner told us he grind it in the morning right before he cooked it. We would go there again and stay longer in the future.

Wonderful staff, old hotel, lack of facilities, really terrible location”
Ok, so you can definitely find better places to stay in Gora. First, it might not be clear when you reserve that the ryokan is down the very steep hill and then up a small hill, so if you have luggage you have to take a taxi and then everytime you go to town, you have to climb that humongous hill. Prepare for sweat bath. The ryokan itself is outdated. Everything had that old feel, not in the nice way. The facilities are very basic - like onsen, room. If you want a ryokan experience this is not the best choice. On the up side - wifi worked well and the staff was really helpful, although their english was not so strong. Would not stay again.

Quiet and remote”
I would say that once you're on the right path, it's easy to find. You have to get off the bus, walk back to the intersection, turn left past like two buildings, then turn right up a lane. I missed it the first time because the road looked so unassuming, but it was an asphalt road so it's easy to take your luggage. Inside the room, I found a couple fingernail clippings so that was a little icky. I didn't try the TV. I asked the host to help me with the bed, which he did happily. The onsen was empty when I went in so that was nice and private. The hosts are very strict about their breakfast times. You simply can't urge them to give you breakfast before the start time of 8 a.m. I'm not sure why that is, but no matter how I implored them to give it to me even 15 minutes earlier, they held firm. Keep that in mind if you have a train to catch. Otherwise, they were quite welcoming. The property itself seemed desolate when I was there. I hardly saw anyone else.

Spacious room but dirty onsens. ”
Nice little Ryokan with good sized room. Reasonable location close to a bus stop for transport options. The only disappointment was having to share an Onsen with dirty Chinese tourists who cared to leave behind pubic hairs in the onsen bathrooms. Would have been a more pleasant stay without having to experience that.

Good value and excellent onsen”
Decent and clean guest house with an excellent onsen. Good value for money. Remember to take the bus from Odawara and get off at Miyaginobashi bus stop - from there it's a short 5 min walk to the hotel. If you take the train instead and get off at Gora station, it'll be a much longer walk involving a steep downhill trot and parts of that road has no pedestrian side walk - walking at night along that road is not recommended for safety reasons. There's a short cut going downhill which bypasses that road but it'll be a tough walk if you've got luggage.

Spacious”
The room is spacious and clean. It has air condition, small table and back rest. They provide yukata. There’s a sink inside the room and the toilet and in-house onsen and bath is very near our room. The charge the in-house onsen separately and is mandatory even if you will not use the onsen. My friend had her period during our stay there. We requested that she will be waived from the onsen fee but it was declined. The female receptionist said she still needs to pay. :-( I don’t think the onsen fee is mentioned during booking at the website. There’s just 1 restaurant around the area but it seems that it’s a karaoke bar and drinking place thus, we did not go there for dinner but instead bought food from 7-11 nearby. The serving size of the plated breakfast was enough and had good presentation. They are very strict with their breakfast time. They make the breakfast only when you’re there. But if you get there 1 min late, they will refuse to make breakfast for you. Their reason is because the ones who are preparing breakfast are also the ones serving as receptionist and cleaners. Thus, after breakfast time, people will be coming for check out. They have massage chairs for you to relax after a day’s walk. Overall the place is nice and clean although a bit pricey. They should have already included the onsen fee.

Excellent Ryokan”
Although this place is located about 15 minutes from the train station, it's totally worth it! The host was very welcoming, the room was large with a comfortable bed and the onset was clean, well equipped, and very relaxing!

Nice place to stay in Hakone”
Very nice hospitality. I would not recommend the one who travel with a lot of stuff to use Gora station short cut which is it very steep satires. it's very convenient to access by bus.

Great hospitality, complete and best quality of facilities.”
So lovable place to stay and relaxing ur day. The owner is so generous, kind and helpful inspite of his difficulties in speaking english. It's not far from Gora station. Just take bus M or G from gora station bus stop no 3 to miyaginobashi bus stop, then cross the street and walk uphill for only 2-3 minutes. Or u can choose taxi, it's only 730yen from gora station.
