A good price/qualiy-ratio for BKK-standarts”
The deluxe rooms are very large and spacious. By Bangkok standards, the rooms are also quite clean. The room service also did a good job. It is an older building that does not meet the latest standards, but the wooden look has its own charm. It is less than 10 minutes walk from the popular Khaosan Road, so it is very well located. The shower did not work properly in my rooms: it did not provide constant hot water and it never sealed completely so there was always some water outside the shower cubicle. This was the case in 2 of the deluxe rooms I stayed in. Unfortunately the wifi was very poor, it dropped out and was very slow when connected (<10Mbit) so I had to switch to the regular phone network to get a usable and constant connection. If you can do without these flaws it is a nice hotel. The staff as well as the owners were very friendly and very helpful no matter what the issue was. I would describe the price/quality ratio as very good throughout.

Cheap hotel in good location”
Staff and location is good. Old facility, many things old and broken, yet give and take the place worth the money.

Pleasant stay, but standards and facilities needed to be maintained”
I am a regulary guest of the place as its very pleasant to stay. However, this is the first time that I was a bit disappointed with facilities of the hotel, the wifi was broken and would take couple days to fix it then I found that the ac was also out of order when I got to the first room. They were kindly moved me to a bigger room, although the bathtub did not work properly so I need to get it sorted as well. Despite the curfew, there was people walking outside the alley at 2:30 am and sound of radio/tv playing got into my room from another room, which I found that a bit unusual or sound proof did not work well in that room. Overall, if they maintain it well like how it was before covid-19 impact all of us then I would highly recommend this place. In the meantime, the wifi service should really be maintained or offer alternative for guests not leaving it for couple days without any compensation or alternative communication methods.

OK budget hotel close to Khao San / Rambuttri”
Good value hotel, where services were scarce as expected. Staff was friendly. We managed to get one of the few parking spots in front of the hotel (free).

Ok place to stay”
Located on the quiet back street but close enough to the night life. Lots of small eating places nearby. Good size rooms. In-house laundry. The digital safes don't work but they will give you a key for them. They will organise airport transport at a fixed price. The lack of english can be a small problem.

Faulty safes and poor english ”
First room the aircon didn't work and you couldn't set a code in the safe. When moved to a second room the aircon was good but still had the same problem with the safe, they ended up giving me the key for the safe. There was very little english spoken so it was hard to get problems fixed. . Good location with lots of places to eat and drink. The hotel will do your laundry at a price/ kg it was done on the day. Internet in the rooms was hit and miss but very good at reception.

One this hotel is inside the street you have to walk at least 1 km from the drop point. ”
If you do late night party then the street is not safe. However, we did not catch by anything but very dark in the night. Staff is quite decent, but hotel did not serve food except breakfast

Pay the extra $20 and stay out of the ghetto ”
The building is run down.. the street and everything within 4 blocks is sketchy. Not worth the bargain price. Security for belonging, health and safety should not be expected

A budget hotel for a quality experience”
We were expecting the least about our hotel when we arrived in Bangkok since we got the promo price of Sabye Bangkok Hotel. Since we were 5, we thought three of us were staying on a floor cushion but they gave us the comfort of enjoying two rooms which are connected through a veranda. The security is also commendable, although the shaky room doors seem fishy at first (because it's antiqued) but the people there were promising to be doubted. Jessica, the front desk officer (Who I think owns the place or maybe the wife of the owner) was accommodating too, she helped us book tours and look for good places to eat without ripping us off. The only thing my friends and I did not like is the location of the hotel, if you're looking for a place near where the party is, don't book here. However if you prefer to relax and get away from the noise from Khaosan, this is the best place. All in all, Sabye Hotel Bangkok is a must visit.

Khaosan Without the 'Circus'”
Further away from the Khaosan Road than I usually stay, but the reviews were good so I booked the Sabye Bangkok. Down some local streets and surrounded by a group of hostels the Sabye looked unimpressive from the outside. All that changed as soon as you enter the building. Wood and very lovely old tiles surround you throughout the hotel. The friendly welcome from staff complete a very nice second impression. The room I had was spacious and still with the wood and tile decor. Quite lovely. The small fridge was very welcome and useful for cold drinks. The local streets have a number of small restaurants with inside and outside eating areas. Prices here are considerably lower than around the Khaosan Road, a 5/10 minute walk away. Thai (and some Italian) food restaurants are staffed with friendly welcoming people unjaded as they are in the Khaosan. I would recommend the Sabye Bangkok Hotel. (It is let down only by the slow and temperamental wi-fi.)

Comfortable & quiet haven outside Khao San”
Rooms are very large (especially for the price; outstanding compared to local competition), with high ceilings. We stayed in a superior room (#15) on the 1st floor. Bathroom: large, with a great rainfall shower and even a bath! Bed: white linen and a nicely firm mattress. Internet: fast and reliable, with WiFi routers lining the corridors on both floors. Aircon: adjustable and good power. Wall-mounted TVs, though sadly channels are limited to news (and we would have liked access to the HDMI port at the rear of the TV). Walls are solid and you don’t hear your neighbours. We paid upfront for breakfast, and fortunately Sabye provide a selection of fruit, cereals, toast, hot drinks and juices to accompany a breakfast (freshly cooked to order) consisting of eggs, ham and hot dogs. Very satisfying, it saved time each day by not having to go and look for breakfast at the eateries further towards Khao San / Rambuttri. Our only issue was that the maids, though well-mannered otherwise, would open the door to the room without knocking; despite complaints to reception after the first occasion, it happened again (though it seemed to be a training mistake rather than anything malicious). The owner and his wife hang around reception and are very helpful, as are the reception staff (all have good English). We booked 3 nights, however we extended our stay to 9 because it was such a comfortable and relaxing place to return to after a long day sightseeing, or to spend most of the day inside when we had to work online from our room (desk provided on request). We have stayed in budget accommodation in Khao San and Rambuttri several times in the past; after realising this area (Samsen 4 & 6) just over the canal offers a much quieter place to retreat to and an opportunity to live alongside Thai people outside of the main tourist environment, as well as much better accommodation for not much more expense, we will stay only in the Samsen area in future, and most likely stay at Sabye Hotel.

Convenient”
Sabye Bangkok Hotel is in a great location. Its surrounded by many other hostels and a short 10min walk to Khaosan Road. The only con I had was that I always had to ring the bell for someone to come to reception. However, the staff are friendly.

Friendly, peaceful hotel - nice style. ”
I returned to Bangkok for a short holiday after working in Hong Kong for 2 months and was so pleased to have booked this place. Having previously stayed in the Sukhumvit area I was not keen to return. This area in contrast has charm and beauty, with streets of the more traditional Thai wooden housing. Very green, laid back, colourful, great street food on most corners. The hotel itself is pleasing to the senses and the staff struck me straight away as kind and welcoming - so nice in comparison to bigger more impersonal hotels. The beds - I stayed twice either side of a trip to the gulf of Thailand - are big and comfortable with fresh clean linen, slightly on the hard side, but that's my preference. The decor, the wood paneling and tiled floors, art and colours of the walls, I found them uplifting. The breakfast is simple but sufficient; I do feel though that if they could make the breakfast a little more special (or wholesome) it would round the experience off nicely. Also, if they could clean or treat the little areas of mold in the showers and provide bedside lamps it would be a great improvement. I stayed at five hotels during my trip to Thailand. Sabye was under half the price of all of the others and by far my favourite. Highly recommended!

A Great Stay”
I stayed here with my parents on their first trip to Bangkok. I usually stay in the heart of Khao San Road, and was a little surprised by the location, but once I got my bearings, I was thrilled with the location of this hidden gem of a hotel. It is located in a quiet area with many great little restaurants and cafes offering better food at better prices than the tourist hot spots. It is only about a 10 minute walk to all of the Khao San nightlife, too. The hotel is a little older, but our rooms were clean, comfortable, and VERY spacious. The original artwork in the hallways was terrific and gave the hotel a very nice, warm feeling. The staff was great -- very nice and helpful. Early on our first morning there, the water pump failed and we were without water on the second floor briefly. This wasn't a problem, though, since the staff gave us access to clean and vacant first floor rooms for showering, etc. (The problem was also fixed quickly). Definitely will stay here again.
