Friendly staff and good location”

I had a great stay with Safestay London Elephant and Castle. I met people from different places and had a nice chat with them, the people in the community are nice too. Staffs are willing to help when I need to deposit my luggage for few hours, I really appreciate this. For the location, it is not so difficult to find. I asked a staff from a stall and he gave me a right direction. After that, I could remember the way to go back to the hostel as there is many iconic building that help me to remember the way.

Outstanding”

The feel of this place is very professional and comfortable. The rooms are good and clean. Privacy curtains helps to maintain your space and feel secluded when you need it. The lounge bar is great for spending time though the ambient music can be irritating when played a little loud. Sometimes i feel it is for the staff’s benefit. The amenities are good and the street affords all budgets especially with the market and supermarkets. The buses are frequent and fast. Access to parts of london is also great from here. The only reservation here is the breakfast. At £5, you would expect better than the very unsurprising “continental” breakfast. No stars for that. The staff are very nice except for one that I can name. If you should be reading this review, I’m sure you will know who you are. I feel this one person brought down the professionalism to Safestay. Being obnoxious to your paying “guests” are not an endearing quality to be proud off. Managers, you need to remind them and retrain them or this will drop your exceptional rating. Guests are your bread and butter, so be mindful of that ! Otherwise, a nice place. Recommended.

Hello Robert Thank you for sharing your review of Safestay. Glad you liked your stay, but also I was disappointed to learn that some aspects of your visit did not live up to expectations. I would like to know in more details the reason, and especially the staff member you did not contribute to you having a better guest experience. Only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service that we provide to our guests. Again, please accept my apology and i hope that this hasn't put you off a return stay with us again. Kind Regards Jose Safestay Elephant & Castle

Great stay in London”

Safestay is a great choice for hostelling in London. I stayed in the 8 bed mixed dorm with ensuite bathroom. It was a good size, with lockers underneath every set of bunks and a personal light. The facilities stayed fairly clean, even with a full room. I didn't take advantage of much of the amenities here (bar, food, common area) but they seemed comfortable and nice. There are books to borrow in the computer room as well. Wifi was strong. Location is a bit out of the way as you have to cross the river for most of the area you'll want to go to.

Totally Changed My Views Towards Hostel!”

Chic decor, sturdy & clean bunk bed and good shared bathroom

Awesome location with good bus & tube connection to central London. There are several communal areas (pub style with pool tables & nicely decorated lobby) that suits your need if you want to get your work done or socialising. The bed was impressively clean, comfy and sturdy which even includes curtains for privacy!! Great sized, shared individual bathrooms with nice working hot showers! Good selection of local pubs & restaurants nearby. Continental breakfast inc. cereals, croissants and tea coffee hot choc. Not bad for the price you pay for in Central London. Launderette available and iron can be borrowed! All doors are securely locked and are access using key card. Bring a pad lock (you can buy 1 here) if you wanna use the cage underneath the bed to secure your bags. I feel very safe during my stay here and if you are staying in London for either 1 day or 1 month + socialising with other young travelers and on a tight budget I strongly recommend this stylish hostel. Awesome value for money!!

Good hostel!”

Privacy, price/quality ratio, clean

Visited London last year and stayed here because I was on a budget. Read some good reviews and boy are they true! It was the first hostel I ever stayed in so I was happy with the curtains on the beds. You get a cage for your luggage, do take your own padlock with you (you can buy em at the reception in case you forgot). There's wifi, but only in the lounge. Breakfast's fairly simple but good. It's actually easy to find from the underground (Elephant and castle) if you looked up the location beforehand on Google maps or something. I can really recomment this hostel if you're on a budget!

Great Value for money

If you are wanting a hostel that is very clean and very well priced and conveniently located near the subway station then this is the place for you. The Elephant and castle underground station is about a 10 minute walk away and there are also food shops including the obligatory McDonalds and KFC nearby if that is to your taste. The dormitory rooms have bunk beds but each has ots own curtian for privacy and it is very clean.

Surprised that the bed was so comfortable, privacy curtain all around, ensuite rooms, lovely decor, plenty of common space. I had never believed that it was possible to stay overnight in London for such a reasonable price !! Extremely easy to get to Victoria station for all airport transfers day and night via regular bus which stops outside of hostel. Already recommended a stay here for all friends and family who are flying the following day. I will also be a regular here as have spent too many nights on airport(mainly stansted), due to problems with arriving from my city (Portsmouth) at 2230 hrs at the latest. Absolutely wonderful hostel. Well done x

A wonderful and safe stay”

Customer service, worth its value, privacy in your own bed

It was wonderful! Even though I a in the room of 8 people, the room is much bigger and I had space to move about and unpack my bag. There is also a personal container under the bed to put your stuffs. However you have to bring your own lock to lock the container. Breakfast was simple but considered really well, giving the price that I pay. I was also given a complimentary drink at the bar, which amazed me. There's free Wifi which only works at the bar/lounge area. I would recommend to others who would want a budget yet wonderful place to stay in London. Visited Feb 2015

I only spent one night, but I really felt comfortable and like at home. The only inconvenience is that inside the room it's hot, but it has a solution. So, I totally recommend for those who can't afford paying a expensive hotel. I give a 10 to safestay :)

Nice and safe place to stay! (6 Bed En-suite)”

Best hostel I ever stayed in London! Already booked a second time and would recommend it without any hesitation. The room was very clean, spacious and the facilities appeared to be quite new. Deserved 4 Star hostel! The staff was friendly and always helpful. The elevator didn't work, but who cares, my room was on the first floor, so no problem at all. The room had no lockers but metal cages for every guest, my whole suitcase did fit into it and I used my one padlock to lock it up. There are several bus stations right next to the building. 3-5 minutes walk to 1-Pound-shop, Morrisons, Tesco Express, Mcdonalds, KFC and some other restaurants/bars. thumbs up (I didn't have breakfast at the hostel, but I have been told that it's tasty)

Great value”

Cleanliness, styling for the price, covered all essential facilities

I stayed over 2 nights so as to attend a 3 day seminar over the weekend. It was a 5-10 min walk from the underground. The cleanliness and service was pretty good for the price (from research: although this is the first time I'm staying the London). I did not expect to get breakfast included in the deal for £22 a night, so wohoo!! If anything was missing, it was the Internet. The wifi "worked" only in the lounge. But since I was (awake) there for a relatively short period of time, that didn't put me off. I just took a £2.5 T-mobile unlimited data pack for 5 days which more than suited my needs. Will definitely visit again on any future visits.

Feedback for Safestay hostel”

Nice decor, nice breakfast, nice bedding

Safestay provides excellent quality stay in the heart of London, about 10 minutes from Elephant and Castle tube station. It has nice decor and is well set up. The only complaints are perhaps about the unreliability of the wifi and behaviour of the staff, which could be improved a bit.

Attending A Wedding”

Cons: No kitchen access, no refrigerator, people can’t bring food purchased from restaurants and eat your meal in the dining room/bar-lame rule! Aside, every other aspect staying at Safestay was cool.

Super good”

Location is okay, about 6 mins walks from elephant&castle. Staffs are nice and friendly. Breakfast, add 4 pounds when you check in. They were nice too. Recommend!

Good budget place, horrible Wifi”

Elephant & Castle is not the best location in London, specially at night, I see many Asians coming to this hostel, this area is not super safe and also is not so pretty, however the links to London Eye and Central London are good, is easy to go. Hostel is quite good in general, room spacious, bathroom inside, beds comfortable, although they shake a bit when someone is on top, lockers are fine, big. Beds don't have their own USB/plug it is a bit annoying, there are plugs in the room but not well placed. Pretty clean in general, I did not use public bathrooms. Common area is alright, bar/restaurant on the basement and some tables and chairs around reception. Not having microwaves is a big downside because there is no kitchen and you may want to save some money with microwave meals. Now the worst was the Wifi, absolutely terrible, this is 2019, every corner should have super fast Wifi.

A very posh backpackers”

cleanliness, location, transport

My stay in Safestay was excellent. Accommodation in London is expensive, this backpacker lodge is relatively cheap to stay in. The location is great, near the Elephant and Castle station. There is a direct bus to Oxford Circus from the front of the hotel.
