Tried & tested - consistent friendly humble abode
Food, lovely staff, ambience
We stay here often because it is always welcoming & authentic. No surprises & staff are delightful. Rooms are a bit dated & tired, bed could be more comfortable & toilet seat definitely needs replacing! But for the price - it is a small sacrifice to put up with. Lots of guests are older & regular visitors to this lovely place. Beautiful gardens & a quiet sanctuary - even though monkey Forrest rd is outside the entrance !

Great mid priced/budget/traditional Balinese Accom
I like the location. The staff are friendly. Rooms are comfortable & clean.
I have stayed at the Sagitarius 3 times now, 3 nights, 9 nights & 12 nights & will keep coming back. It has traditional designed cottages & rooms, simple but comfortable & reasonably priced. I like the location in central Ubud itself, it's quiet & secure. The pool is well kept & the staff are friendly & polite, ready to assist in any way they can. The Breakfast varies every day & the set menu is displayed the evening before so if it's not to your taste you can make other arrangements...but I enjoyed them all especially the fruit pancakes! Overall I have found it to be a peaceful place to stay with mainly quieter older travellers staying. I love the place & always feel very at home here.... I would rate it a very good 2 star traditional style accomodation...

Looks nice, but staff is incompetent.
Looks, garden and pool, location
The hotel looks nice. The garden and the pool are nice and the rooms are good. The staff however is the worst we have experienced. We had booked and paid for a room but at arrival there was no room available. Mistakes happen, but the way they handled is bizarre. They didn't help us find something else and just said that it is our problem. Keep this in mind when booking here.

good basic lodgings - repeated visits
friendly staff, good vegetarian food, nice gardens
I have stayed here many times before. The decor is getting a bit tired and bathrooms could do with a good clean and overhaul. But for the price and ambience I will continue to stay there. Great location and many guests have chosen to stay there again - this adds to the friendly / happy feeling of the place. Staff are very helpful - mostly locals with lots of local knowledge and pride. I like the slow pace - a home away from home. Not recommended if you are after action and glitz.

An absolute gem of a hotel in Ubud. Lovely setting
relaxing, friendly, comfortable
My stay was so comfortable, manageable and relaxing. The staff were effortlessly friendly, the room was fine and pool was cool - and it was easy to get anywhere I wanted.

not so nice
location, location, location
I found this place expensive and pretty much just plain sad. Mind you I did go for a room without aircon and was kept up all night by dogs barking and then roosters crowing. i was stuck at the back of the "resort", maybe because I was a solo traveler. The room was pretty dirty, the sheets were barely there (had to line the bed with a towel), pillows stunk and all in all a little dodgey. I spent 2 weeks in Bali and stayed in much nicer places.
