Perfect Island Gateway”

Sai Kaew Beach Resort is a perfect gateway to the paradise island of Koh Samet. It’s located on the beach and has a private beach area. In my opinion, Sai Kaew Beach Resort is the best choice in Koh Samet Island. They will delight you in every step of your stay here. We went there walk in without any prior booking. As their quoted price on sport was higher than Agoda we booked it through Agoda mobile app. If you book earlier they will provide both way transportation from the pier to resort. The resort is very clean and modern. View from the room was breathtaking. We enjoyed the food here. I will definitely come back here if I come to Koh Samet.

Decent hotel for the low season”

Sai Kaew Beach is one of the more crowded beaches on Koh Samet. So if you want some quiet I recommend going here in low season only, or staying at a different beach. The resort is near the end of the beach so it's a bit quieter than where all the beachside restaurants are but that might be different in high season. Prices for most properties on Koh Samet are higher than they should be, so expect to pay more for less everywhere. That said, the low season pricing here seems reasonable for the facilities. Avoid the western food at the hotel restaurant at all costs. I sent back two absolutely awful dishes and the staff were quite kind about it and promptly replaced them. I was happy about this because in most standalone restaurants won't replace bad food. The Thai food at the restaurant is acceptable though, so if you eat there, only choose Thai food. The pools were clean and the beach in front of the hotel was also clean. The rooms were fine too. Clean and well kept.

Fantastic hotel - great service and amenities”

The staff were friendly and helpful.

This was our first stay at Sai Kaew Beach Resort and we were not disappointed. We had family visiting from the States so came to Koh Samet for the first time. We all had a fantastic time. Originally, our family was in a Premier room and my sister's family was in a Deluxe Cottage room. They were disappointed with the Cottage room so requested an upgrade to a Premier room. The staff graciously moved them within minutes of their request. We highly recommend the Premier rooms as they are located at the center of the hotel and next to a lovely pool the entire family can enjoy. The beach is gorgeous (white sand and beautiful clear water). We enjoyed the hotel's restaurant and the Mango (a coffee/pastry shop). The staff was friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Sai Kaew and will return again and again.

We enjoyed our Stay at Sai Kaew beach resort durin”

Sai Kaew beach resort has a great beach location. They changed our sheets every day and provided enough clean towels as well. We enjoyed our stay at Sai Kaew Beach Resort

We enjoyed our Stay at Sai Kaew beach resort during the Songkran (Thai New Year) weekend. It was our first visit to Koh Samed. Stayed in the Deluxe Cottages in the old part of the resort. The cottages were clean, well maintained. The area of the resort is a little bit unusual because there are roads crossing near the entrance and other facilities that I do not think belong to the resort. The staff was professional and eventhough they had lots of people check in in at that time, I think they did a good job. The beach is beautiful and during our stay the waves were pretty strong our kids had a blast. We ate at the Zea restaurant several times and we had good service and good food. Similar with the breakfast buffet. A couple sang during the evenings and it built a nice atmosphere. Also visited the bakery which had great smoothies, coffee and croissants. We also went to the Spa for a foot massage and they did not have a problem taking all four of us. Sai Kaew beach resort has a great beach location. They changed our sheets every day and provided enough clean towels as well. We enjoyed our stay at Sai Kaew Beach Resort. In our way in we took the boat from the Hotel but it did not go directly to Sai Kawe BR. We had to take a taxi to get there, it only took 10 mins. On our way back to the main land we took a speed boat directly from Sai Kaew BR. Did not experience swarm of mosquitoes as I read in other reviews.

A gem”

the bungalows are very very great, very comfy! nice beach and also a semi private beach, the free breakfast in the morning was fantastic
restaurant is pricey, our bungalow was a little jaunt to the beach, check your minibar for everything first or they might try and charge you for something you didn't drink.

so it was our first time going to Ko Samet and we had no ideas what to expect. i had one idea though, we would have too many bags so we should book in advance. this was the only place that would do that. we rode the bus from Ekkamai, no problems, and arrived long long long away from Seree pier, so we bought other tickets to cross over to the island. advice: leave ekkamai at 9am so you can take the 1:30 free boat from seree. we arrived and rode this terrifying green truck (much past capacity) down a road, showcasing restaurants, motorbike/scooter/atv rentals, and net cafes until finally we arrived at the park where we had to pay 200 baht each. i think if you pack light it would be just as easy to walk up the road and to walk into the park, thus avoiding the payment of 200 thb. on the ride up you'll notice everything ranges from brand new to super dirty/sketchy i think this gives a little bit of character to the area but it also fills your mind with "what the hell is my place going to look like?" no worries here, the Sai Kaew beach resort feels just like that. you arrive, they drive you by golf cart to your area, show you your room (and open air shower! high walls don't worry) there's just these small things that feel huge when you go. the rooms aren't going to win spacious awards, it's basically a bed and a bathroom. but it's worth it. nice design and if yu pay the little extra you could be a stone throw from the ocean. enjoy that too!

Well placed hotel right at the beach !”

Excellent staff who go out thier way to make sure your stay is a pleasurable experience

This is now my third visit to Sai Kaew Beach Resort and I am certain it wont be the last one either. It was quite an experience to be welcomed by staff who remembered us from our previous visits. They really do go the extra mile to make sure all your needs are met. Good breakfasting/dining area with a wide selctiion of foods and fruit. I have said on previous reviews that the resort has so much to offer;= swimming pools for both adults and children with a "swim up" bar in the middle. a small but convenient gymnasium overlooking the pool. coffee bar with wide selection of cakes and buscuits. Along the beach there are numerous beach bars, resturantes and snack bars. All the normal beach activities of paragliding from a spead boat, jet ski, banana boat.Rental of small Scooters for around 300 Baht per day will let you have a run over the whole isleand to see the other resorts and beach heads...

Perfect for what we were looking for”

My husband and I were passing through bangkok over the weekend and wanted to treat our daughter and her husband to a beach trip that would be a quick easy travel to a place with white sand beach and nice accommodations. We picked up a car in the airport and drove to rayong. There we checked our bags at the pier with the hotels concierge and from that point we were treated so well. The facilities were excellent. The buffet breakfast was very good at the restaurant located with a beautidul beach view. The grounds are beautiful. The fact that there is a private beach is an added luxury to this resort. If the noise and people of the beautiful Sai Kaew beach gets to be too much you can just retreat to the private beach or one of the 3 pools on the grounds. My only complaint is the price for an extra bed for our single daughter tracing with us is quite high! Everything else was excellent! I definitely would recommend this resort and will be Back

On of the better hotels on the island but also mor”

location, rooms, transport

This is one of the few four star hotel on Koh samed, there is one more in the very south on two in the upper left of the island. They are all owned by the same hotel chain. You pay premium prices for all hotels on this island, what you would normally pay for a four star hotel elsewhere in Thailand is what you pay for a three star hotel here. Sai kaew is a large hotel having many different types of rooms. If you are thinking of staying here make sure you select the newer areas close to reception and beach. They are more pricy but also much better. If not you might as well select for example don vouang, same quality of the huts but cheaper. The rooms we stayed in (premier) are modern, big and nice. We could easily fit two adults and two kids 13,4). The room has easy and close pool access. The hotel lies close to two beaches. From one of the beaches you can do snorkeling and this is usually where the snorkeling tours stop as well. The snorkeling is not as good as on Koh Lanta or phi phi but enjoyable. The other beach is probably the best beach on the island with white sand and about one kilometer long. You can do banana boats, hire ski jet and so on here as well. The service is good, for Koh samed the service is fantastic. The restaurant is nice with view over the sea, prices reasonable and breakfast is good with omelet station, a traditional four star breakfast. All in all the hotel is very nice and you will have a nice stay. But you probably could get a five star hotel in hua hin or Phuket for the same price.

Sai Kaew Beach Reort, Koh Samet”

Very good location if you are looking for good beach, convenient access to restaurants & Bangkok, clean & well designed rooms.
Not for you if you want a secluded beach. The spa is not very serious - just another room with massage beds. The rest is minor - no tub; breakfast lacks variety; .

My family was very happy with the Sai Kaew Beach Resort. Great for families. Not for you if you want seclusion and a calm, zen environment. Its location suited us very nicely. Our teenage kids could walk along the beach with their friends and do some shopping, pick up some beach food. It was also a very easy walk along the beach to restaurants for lunch & dinner. The pools were very nice and relaxing - even on a Thai holiday weekend, it was not too busy. The second beach was quiet and secluded but accomodations on that side seemed a little run down. We found quite a bit of marine life right on that beach. If you go with the right frame of mind, the negatives are minor. This is a relaxed island away from Bangkok - a/c remote and room safe took 2 days to fix (probably because receptionist forgot on busy holiday weekend), breakfast was uninspired (same four fruit on all 5 days I was there; no mangoes even though it was mango season; speed boat ride very bumpy and wet ( Water sports - lots to choose from but we had to use the operators on the beach as opposed to the resort beacause they did not have enough kayaks and I was a little worried about the beach operators' concept of safety.

Sae Kaew Beach Resort”

Beautiful clean rooms and helpful staff. Very convenient location with easy access to the beach. Wonderful facilities with three swimming pools and plenty of activities for guests.
It's wonderful that they had free internet, one or two more computers would be nice. Signs with areas of room numbers would be helpful.

Sai Kaew beach resort is a good value for the money. The rooms are a little pricey by Thai standards but well worth it. The bungalows are spacious and beautifully decorated. The layout of the grounds affords plenty of privacy and quiet. The resort itself is very close to the beach and also conveniently located near the town. Facilities are outstanding, with three swimming pools, a jacuzzi and an exercise room. Guests have free internet access, although the two computers are usually very busy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Sai Kaew is a wonderful place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. It is ideal for those who want both quiet and access to some of the more lively areas of Koh Samet. For a great experience of one Thailand's premiere island spots, come to this resort!

Value for money hotel, good location. ”

Facilities, pick up and drop,

I booked this hotel through agoda and got a good deal. We reached Ban phe by bus and close to terminal there is Sai kaew office. We got pick up till ferry and dropped till our room. Everything was amazing till then. But I wasnt happy with the room. They call it a deluxe room and bed and flooring was pretty ordinary. I wish i could have booked a higher priced room, but you cannot do it from hotel itself as it is web booking. I wanted to extend my stay, but they asked me to contact agoda to get agoda rates. This was a bit disappointing. Beach is awesome, specially where this resort is, it is extremely clean. Dinner was awesome, with live music. touch expensive but quality worth the price. Breakfast was a bit let down as they had pork and squid, no chicken. pork was also not cooked properly. Checkout took some time as there were people who came on tour. It was raining so hotel people carefully packed our luggages in plastic bags, offered us raincoats. Overall worth place to stay. but better book a room of higher standards. Also do proper booking through Agoda. As one will find it difficult to change itenary from resort. My AC had some issues, but they fixed it in 15 mins time. staff and service were very polite and decent.

Very nice hotel, big room but overpriced. Nice restaurant on the beach, food average. Location far enough from the heavy nighttime beach/bar action to be quiet, but close enough to walk along the beach if you want to go. Everything you could expect ! and More !”

From the moment of arrival the resort staff anticipated your every need in a warm and friendly manner

I took advantage of the speedboat service to the island which dropped us off on the beach at the steps to the Sai Kaew Beach Resort. Met by friendly staff who guided us through the checkin process and to our room which was a "permier" by the poolside. (Well worth the small extra cost)The room was fitted out well with modern furnishings and decor which was very clean and tidy. On site there was a very good open air dining area, a coffee bar area with internet facilities and a few shops. A short walk down the road took you into a street filled with cafe bars, resurantes and shops. Overall a very relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a stress free break !

Excellent resort at a good location with great service”

Positive: The resort staff is very friendly and provides an excellent service. Our Deluxe garden room was very big, clean and comfortable. The resort gardens are very beautiful and have an own small quiet beach. We enjoyed it very much. The breakfast food selection was acceptable and balanced. The food quality and the taste were also excellent. The location is directly at the beautiful Sai Kaew Beach (white sand). Negative: The beach was mostly very crowded and noisy because of the speedboats that stop or pass by every 2 minutes. During high season and weekends the beach is also full of Chinese travel groups.

Perfectly located hotel”

location; beach; swimming pools

The hotel is located in the middle of the town (I mean Koh Samet is small, but you can call this spot middle of the town). Next to the hotel you have the beach, the longest in Koh Samet with great restaurants and entertainment. The breakfast is ok, but needs some attention from the F&B Manager. But the breakfast in the other hotels are far behind this hotels, yes, checked! The room is spotless and there is nothing to complain about it, it is big and nice. The hotel staff is very attentive and don't forget to tip the cleaning lady, you will be suprised about some suprises:). I can recommend a stay in this hotel, I think it is still the best hotel on Koh Samet. Via the motorcycle you can go to all other beaches and it was funny, you can hang around in the other hotels too, just have a drink at their bar.
