Sai Kaew Beach Resort (SHA Plus+)
Sai Kaew Beach,Sai Kaew Beach - View on map
"Sai Kaew Beach Resort is a perfect gateway to the paradise island of Koh Samet. It’s located on the beach and has a private beach area. In my opinion, Sai Kaew Beach Resort is the best choice in Koh Samet Island. They will delight you in every step of your stay here. We went there walk in without any prior booking. As their quoted price on sport was higher than Agoda we booked it through Agoda mobile app. If you book earlier they will provide both way transportation from the pier to resort. The resort is very clean and modern. View from the room was breathtaking. We enjoyed the food here. I will definitely come back here if I come to Koh Samet."

Guyana Saikaew (SHA Plus+)
Sai Kaew Beach,Sai Kaew Beach - View on map
"The rooms were very clean and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was very disappointing for more than 100USD room. no choice, just override eggs. The hotel is in the middle of the busiest part of the main beach- so location is good if that's what you want. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Pool is small but very safe if you have kids."

Sinsamut Hotel Koh Samed
Sai Kaew Beach,Sai Kaew Beach - View on map
"This is a pleasant little hotel and I don't have major complaints, but it seems a bit overpriced for what you get. It's newly renovated, but simple and the rooms smell a bit bad. The wifi wasn't great nor the TV. The front of the hotel is confusing to find and very ugly. But you are paying for location. It is the prime spot for all the Sai Kiaw Beach attractions. You are not looking at the beach, but you are extremely close to it and all the restaurants. I'd stay there again if the price was about lower than what I paid. (It was a Thai public holiday and high season). "

SummerDay Beach Resort
Sai Kaew Beach,Sai Kaew Beach - View on map
"This seemed like one of the best options on Sai Kaew beach, and we weren't disappointed. The owner and staff were extremely attentive, the room was comfortable and with a great view. In total we were in Thailand for two weeks (here for about five days) and tried food all over the place, from street stalls to five-star resorts; the fish with red curry we had at SummerDay was easily the favorite. Highly recommended for a stay, or at the bare minimum, for some excellent cooking"

Saikaew Villa
Sai Kaew Beach,Sai Kaew Beach - View on map
"our first stay at saikaew villas was 12 years ago when there were only a few places to stay and the beach was empty. the room we stayed in has changed little in that time, although our room was clean and spacious and what we required for a 3 day break at the beach. (we have stayed in much worse for the same cost on this beach) they are updating the rooms and there are modern rooms available for a little extra. the bathroom was functional but would benefit from some diy and breakfast was not much to write home about. staff were helpful and organised our speedboat and oversized minivan to take us back to bangkok at a good rate, carrying all of our bags and helping the children on and off the boat and minivan. we have a very romantic view of saikaew villa and would stay again."

More about Sai Kaew Beach

Literally meaning Crystal Sand Beach, Sai Kaew is lined with bungalows, karaoke bars, restaurants and shops. Sailing, diving, windsurfing, canoeing, snorkeling, jet skiing, windsurfing and banana boating are all available in the warm waters, while beach sports include volleyball and soccer.

Popular with Bangkok-based Thai and expat families, the best thing about Haad Sai Kaew may be its seafood. Almost every hotel here has its own restaurant, but a stroll along the beach reveals a number of cozy restaurants and beach bars. After sunset, the atmosphere is more relaxed as a dozen restaurants lay out mats, pillows, tables and chairs for meals under the stars. Elaborate seafood barbecues also offer Western favorites like pizzas and hamburgers. Dazzling choreographed fire shows light up the beach, entertaining diners nightly.

Party-goers will appreciate Silversand, the most famous bar on the island, which plays house and dance tunes 'til the wee hours. More relaxed bars dot the entire shoreline, however, and there's a scene to suit every taste.

Visitors can shop in the small nearby town, and if sunbathing on the beach can also enjoy very reasonably-priced fresh fruit, BBQ chicken wings, dried squid, and spicy papaya salad and ice creams sold by local hawkers. One som tum lady even lets customers make their own papaya salad.
