The only negative thing is that the staff can't speak good English, except a really friendly Burmese waiter called Nay Lind. He really was the only one who gave us an impression that we are welcomed in this fine resort. Otherwise the other guests were mainly older European guys with a Thai ladies.......... The price for tours and trips were unusually expensive and it was difficult to organize trips ourselves as it was in the middle of nowhere. It is close to Hellfirepass memorial and Sai yok waterfalls and walking distance to Lawa cave. All very interesting to see.

Stayed here for four days and enjoyed the local National Parks and waterfalls. Stayed in the rooms overlooking the river. Overall it was good value for money and I would go there again. Breakfast had a good variety and the evening meal choice was fine, but not spectacular. Being in the Jungle and overlooking the river I thought there would have been a lot of mosquitoes. But even though it was the end of the raining season there were very few biting insects. Good idea to take some Aeroguard just in case. The onsite Weary Dunlop museum has some interesting and thought provoking images and is worth a wander around. We really enjoyed our holiday in this area. One day we went to the Sai Yok Yai National Park just to the North and took a private boat up and down the river. As you walk across the suspension bridge a little old lady will come out of her coffee stall and try to get you to take the boat. We paid 400 baht for just us two people and the total trip is probably about 40 minutes. You can pay a lot more for the rafting tours, so we were happy with the price.

The resort is beautiful, you feel like in the jungle. Bungalows are very nice and big. Breakfast was good and food in restaurant was very good, the prices are around 130 bht. The problem is location, they tell you that the only way to get there is boat from pier and when you get there late you have to pay 1000 bht for transport. But thats lie... You can get there also by car. They also provide expensive trips to watrefalls etc, but you can get to the waterfall by taxi. We got taxi from Bam Tok train to the pier and the driver gave us his telephone number, so we called him when we wanted to go to sai yok waterfall and he gave us ride there and back for 1500 bht. So i recommend you to get the number for the driver so you are free to plan your trips on your own. At the reception they won't get you the taxi because they pretend that the only way is to take the expensive boat. That's not very nice....

Great location! There are many convenience stores in front of the street. The resort is located not far from Sai Yok Noi Water Fall and it's just next to the the river. Great service! The staffs are very polite and professional even though they are local people but they are well trained. Always smile and willing to help. Great Environment! Surrounded with nature, clean river, no junk. You can even see the fish around your bamboo house! Great resort! Very very good decoration with bamboo and wooden in modern style. Clean and very tidy. Nice and safe nature pool! Highly recommended! We will go back again for sure ;)

Beautiful peaceful place to relax and stay. They have a beautiful fruit garden and cool things to do in the area. Food was great and service was excellent . The room was very cute and the night was affordable. Met up with who I assumed to be the owner who provided us with a free ride to Sai-Yok noi. Only thing I could complain is the Wi-Fi, but why would you want to on the net when this hotel is an amazing place to escape.

their website says about 2.5 hours from bangkok, but should read 4.5 hours drive. met be friendly helpful staff (mostly burmese) who carried our luggage to our tents. tent rooms delightful but keep them zipped up to keep out mosquitos. recommend you take some fly spray & repellant. bathroom toilet is semi open-air at the rear of the tent. you do have privacy. bathroom functional and quaint as long as you accept meadicore standard thai plumbing. package comes with breakfast and dinner as you are expected to be out visiting sites during the day. you can buy lunch there but pay a la carte. breakfast is western - they will do an omelet for you. dinner a thai buffet/bbq under the stars. they do have a cash drinks bar at dinner. if you like quality wine suggest you take your own. no corkage issues. the small pool fed by a spring is for sitting in, not swimming. a lovely spot for relaxing after a day out. main local attraction is hell fire pass about 3 km away. must see. local village dogs sometimes start howling at night which can affect sleep. don't expect anyone to do anything about it. this is thailand.

I booked this place based on reviews and was NOT disappointed... especially when I realized it was directly across the river from the Elephant Haven sanctuary which we came to experience. The river villa we rented was beautifully decorated as were the grounds. The infinity pool and breakfast room overlooking the river and elephant sanctuary were spectacular features as well. We only stayed one night but will definitely return and/or send our visitors to the Tree Tara. This would be a perfect base for exploring the Sai Yok and Erawan areas of Kanchanaburi. Although breakfast was very good, evening dining options are limited. We had a car but it would be nice if there was an on site option.

Beautiful location, nice architecture, overall great experience, only reachable by a 2-kilometer dirt road. Two thoughts though: 1. For a place at this price at least have fresh coffee. Instant coffee doesn't cut it anymore in this beautiful country with a myriad of excellent coffee shops. 2. The owners of this place seem to love dogs, of which we made aware of until deep at night with these sure pretty dogs howling deep into the night. The dogs had their fun, less so us who tried to sleep with open window and enjoy the fresh air. Also, when arriving at a place I usually don't like to be barked at and jumped at by dogs. Beautiful they are! But not at a nice hotel, barking dogs living there should not happen. If a resort praises itself as the ultimate relaxation experience, maybe the owners who are in Bangkok should leave their dogs in Bangkok as well. Or make it a dog hotel!

This property is around 50+ km from kanchnaburi city near sai Yok falls. Beautiful resort besides the river. please book only raft room . Canal room doesn't have that great view. Pro's :- location, new built property,free bamboo rafting for an hour, big and spacious rooms, near to an elephant farm. Con's :- If you are not traveling by your own car , this place is little far off from the city, even a convenient store is 5+km. And if you are vegetarian, there is no option apart from eating at resort restaurant. that too they will make things on order. like even the water is not free so you have to buy any and everything available in hotel only. overall rating 7/10. choose only if you want to enjoy nature and calm place and want to be in some corner of the city.

Our stray here was great. A little more spoken English by staff would be helpful. Buffet dinner and breakfast was good. The water heater in our room was finicky during the morning hours. It might have been due to heavy usage by other rooms on the raft... Avoid karaoke because they charge WAAAAY too much for Thailand!!! I'd stay here again otherwise, as I can do karaoke in Bangkok!!! :) Go for the river float trip. It's a blast and relaxing!!!

I was there to enjoy the short holiday and the hotel served us best on both value for money and the location. We wanted to stay somewhere in rural area since we would like to escape the crowded space. The hotel has enough facilities for you to enjoy the stay. There are so many activities you can do within the hotel space. The staff are not bad but not what I would say good as well. Some are helpful but some are not. All in all, the hotel is a good pick for your holiday in Karnjanaburi.

The hotel has a quiet riverside setting, well away from any main road and potentially difficult to find though they will collect you from, and take you back to, (at no cost) either Nam Tok railway station or the main road bus stop by Sai Yok waterfall. Large well kept gardens run down to and along the river. Transport is difficult without your own car but there is a wide variety of excursions on offer.

The best service ever, excellent food, perfect cleanness. The business is run by few girls. All of them are very polite and helpful. We ordered food in our room. The food was just delicious and very high quality. They give us bikes for free and drop us to Hell Fire pass memorial Museum and to Hot springs for free. We were suppose to stay there only three days but was so happy with the service we receive that we extended our stay with another few days. Definitely would recommend this place its really exceeded our expectations.

I booked a room at this hotel as I was taking part in the River Kwai Half Marathon that was held nearby. I had stayed at this hotel the previous year and had been happy with the location and the overall standard. Last year I stayed on the river in one of the rooms on the floating rafts. It was great, and should be tried once if you've never done it before, but the walls were very thin. This time I opted for one of the rooms on land thinking that it might be better for undisturbed sleep. I was put in one of the new rooms with great views overlooking the river and mountains. The room and all the fixtures were new and clean, and it was very quiet and peaceful. I will probably be staying here again next year and would recommend as a great place for others to explore the surrounding areas.

Second time at Yoko River Kwai Resort and probably not the last time. From the many resorts at Sai Yok it is till now the best offer concerning the quality and the very unique and original design. The buildings with the rooms are great. And it was very very quiet - fine for a good nights sleep. Probably because it was low season. Can't take conclusion how the place is, when (nearly) fully occupied. As a digital nomad with the need of being connected to the internet all the time, it is a little bit annoying, that outside the main building with reception and restaurant there is no WiFi connection to the Internet and I had to use the data option of my mobile for connecting my computer to the internet. This is something Yoko River Kwai Resort should improve very soon!

This small hotel, around 20-30 rooms, is not close to the town, making a very quiet and nice environment next to the River Kwai in Sai Yok area. The hotel staff/owner is very friendly and she will check with us if we know the way, after we gave a call to her at the early morning of check-in day. We asked the hotel to prepare the dinner and the hotel make the food very well. They are also very helpful to prepare for us the ice and allowed us to bring our own alcohol without charging extra money. The breakfast included in the room is just a simple one, and it is acceptable for a low-cost hotel As the hotel is close to the natural environment, I suggest you all to bring along a mosquito spray in case you are sensitive to mosquito. Besides, it is suggested to prepare your own car as there is no public transportation around. Nearly nothing you can do for killing the time around the hotel area. One thing I would like to remind you all that there are no TV and refrigerators at those raft rooms we stayed.

We were picked up from the train station nearby(no charge). Hire of a good motor scooter was easily organised for a very good price, and one of the managers went out of his way to help us with using the bike and the best place to get petrol (he showed us the way, personally). The young woman had good English skills and gave us all the information we needed. Our room was very private ( the one at the end of the row, furthest away from the restaurant, All the 'superior' rooms have a veranda directly overlooking the river. The room was well set out; plenty of shelves & storage space, huge bathroom with a bath and heaps of charm. Sai Yok/Wang Pho is a charming, friendly little village within reach of all the local attractions.

Don't expect a 5* resort. Jung Ja Hut is more along the lines of, well...a hut or several of them! We stayed in the 'treehouse' which is pretty cool but it feels more like camping or caravanning than a real hotel. Still the location is tranquil and the views from the nice little pool are lovely. It has a great atmosphere and the 2 staff I saw were very friendly although not a word of english. Its a unique and memorable experience and as long as your expectations are set at the right level, you will have a great time.

This place has very natural surroundings, with a view of the river. It is close to some attractions but only in Sai Yok area and everything else is far away. The rooms were nice and almost felt like being in a little cabin in the woods. It is great for people who love nature and parks. The pool is small but kept clean. The place is off the main hill road slightly downhill about 1.5 km in, so make sure you have transport.

Overall, we really enjoyed this house. The on-grounds housekeeper was so wonderful in making sure we were provided both dinner and breakfast. The grounds were really cool for young kids to play around in, and nearby are beautiful national parks and waterfalls. We enjoyed staying here as the space was wonderful for the 3 kids and the baby we were traveling with. The beds were a bit firm for my personal taste, but overall I cannot complain. The all glass living room and beautiful rooftop make this worth it.

This resort is a lot better than my previous expectations because the room price is not high. Even though, the location is not easy to find and notice, and the sub-road to go there is very small, but however this resort is so peaceful located beside the river curve where is really nice screenary. The room is big compared with the price. All staffs are very friendly as well. As the results, it is very good on relaxation with the nature. If I have a chance, I'll come back there again certainly.
