Locked gate no one to attend late check-in”
Advised Saifon of a late train 2.50am check-in. As often occurs with the trains, it was delayed 2 hours. Saifon was padlocked closed with no note or anyone in sight. Only after asking neighbours did some one finally open up. We were tired and there were no sheets, or towels or toiletries for our arrival. The noise of the train station and street below, even on the top floor of tge building, the thin windows and the transparent curtains meant very little sleep. Ordered a prawn padthai in the morning and was served a tiny plate of noodles, just one single prawn, no peanuts or lime, really disappointing for 70 Thai Bhat and tried to charge us a second time after we had already paid. On the upside, the location is literally in front of the station if you don't mind the noise, the motorbike rental was excellent (a new semi-automatic) for 150 Thai Bhat, they tried to help ring through to next hotel in Bangkok about our airport shuttle transfer. In summary lacking TLC.

Excellent”
An excellent choice for those travelling by train. The ferry is just a few minutes' walk away, running from morning (7, i think) until 9PM. The owner is very hard working and kind. There was a mix up with my registration, so she brought me to another guesthouse and paid for my room for that night!

Dissapointing attitude from staff”
My sixth or seventh visit to this guesthouse (formerly the Mint guesthouse). Convenient to the train station, but declining as a reliable accomodation. Still no mirror in the bathroom, and the lady at the front desk was very testy with me when I asked if there was soap for the bathroom. 'No, you have to pay' was the stern reply. Luckily I didn't ask her if there was any toilet paper, and there wasn't. It's a pity, used to be a more friendly and better valeu budget option.

I definitely not reccomend this place because of the staff!”
Ligts in the bathroom didnt work, we wanted to solve it, so they brought the lamp and throwed off the fuses in all house. Than they started scream on us, like it was our fault. They were unkind and rude all the time. The place wasnt so clean, but it was cheap. We were without bathroom Light all our stay. Washbasin was broken and water go down to our legs.

Potential to get better”
I didn't know until I checked in that this was an old favourite, the old Mint Guesthouse now doubled up in size and with new name. Still good value and so close to Ayutthaya station, on the left side of the Soi leading from the station to the river. It could be a lot better if they weren't in a rush to lock up everything at 9 p.m. Sure they can finish meals up by 9, but keeping at least one staff member to serve beers out front for at least another hour would be nice. They could also improve it just a touch with some hooks on the wall to hang up clothes and a mirror in the bathroom would be welcome. Finally there is still the problem with the soi dogs, not aggressive but their barking at night is not helping this and other guesthouses who want to attract new customers.

Close to the train station”
It is very close to the train station, but not on the island. Around 11pm most places close and this place looks dead, although theres a bar downstairs, not much party and be careful, they close the doors when they close the bar, so if you plan to go out (there really aint anywhere to go out), let the reception know, so you can get in. Top floor the wifi isnt working and the water doesnt go away from the shower. Its a good place to stay for a night if you want to just see the temples and perfect, f you take the midnight train (the ferry from the island stops at 8pm)

Angry staff, not clean, don't go there!! ”
First of all: they don't have hot showers even if their advertisement says so. The beds were really big, room was small (big beds are nice but you could only open the door half way haha). It felt like they didn't clean the bathroom because the floor was dirty and the bin was still full with bloody napkins... When we wanted toilet paper we had to fight for it (Reception lady told us :"i don't give "...). Also the lock for the door to our room was broken and wasn't really save so we couldn't shut the door at night. Sometimes the door would just swing open. When we brought back our rented scooter, the woman started shouting at us because -according to her- the tank wasn't filled to the very top. We tried to calm her but she wouldn't stop until we left. Also early check out seemed to be a problem even though they told us before it was okay. And wifi was soo bad/ it didn't work most of the time (same as bathroomlight). Only 2 plugs (1 is needed for the fan!)

Just to keep the bags ”
I would just recommend this hotel to leave the bags while visiting the city and at the end of the visit to take a shower. The location is great, very close to the train station which was good because we arrived from Bangkok by train and we left at the beginning of the night to Chiang Mai by train also. The hotel is very basic, the cleaning is bad.

Price was great, quality OK”
We had a nice and clean room and bathroom. There were some wires not cover in wall but it is not something unusual for Thailand. We choosed this guesthouse because it is really close to the railwaystation. You can eat there or you can go 20 m far to market.
