Friendly Staff with Excellent Location”
The staff of the hotel was very friendly. Right from the airport, we could get a free ride to the hotel via their coach service. It's the same from hotel back to airport. Once we reached, the staff carry our luggage was very friendly and helpful with tips and advice on what to do in resort and around the island. He even helped to arrange for outdoor tour packages for our family. Overall, I have very positive experience of the service provided by the staff. In terms of amenities, the hotel has a decent swimming pool that faces the sea, spa lounge with pool table, gym facilities, sauna and Jacuzzi pool. There is also tennis courts and table-tennis table for some outdoor fun. The best is their white sandy beaches with a marvelous view of the sea horizon. Catching sunset is a breath-taking experience. In terms of location, it's within walking distance to the night market famous for their seafood stalls. Around the resort, there are shops and restaurants but Phu Quoc is a resort island so don't expect big shopping malls. Room was nice and comfy. We had the seaview bungalow and it provides fantastic view of the beach and sea. Room was clean though it can get sandy due to the sea breeze. The resort even provides complimentary fruits and a bottle of wine in the room! Overall, our family had a wonderful time at Phu Quoc and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort.

A relaxing oasis”
we really enjoyed our stay at saigon phu quoc. the free shuttle from the airport was very convenient. the resort is in a lovely setting with well tended gardens and lots of palm trees. the room was clean and attractive with a 'garden view' balcony. the breakfast buffet was excellent- so much choice! there is also a lovely pool. we didn't actually eat at the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner so i can't comment on that. other bonuses - there are free bikes to borrow, and a tennis court. the location is handy for a short (10 min) walk into duong dong town - the night market is a great place for dinner. perhaps the only downside to the resort is the beachfront - there is a sort of cement barrier (probably to prevent sand erosion) so although the beach is nice, it is perhaps not the most attractive bit of long beach. but it is just a short walk up to another part of the beach that is bettter for swimming.

Excellent staff in a difficult situation”
My partner and I stayed here at the end of our Vietnam holiday. Saigon Phu Quoc is in an excellent position, near markets and shops and right on the main drag of Long Beach. Our room opened up about 3 metres from the sand, it was lovely. However...both my boyfriend and I got sick. It could have been from anything (the joys of travelling SE Asia) but was likely some shady seafood from one of the many places we ate (we ate a lot of seafood). In this situation, the staff were excellent. Our Vietnamese was terrible, their English much better, but a little miming helped us to explain our situation and house keeping came with towels and extra bin-liners . They were swift and understanding. When all we wanted for dinner was watermelon, they happily delivered it to our room. They also allowed us a late check out while we pulled ourselves together. It's a shame our stay wasn't more fun, but the staff at Saigon Phu Quoc did make it as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this resort.

We LOVED this hotel!!”
A spectacular place to unwind on a beach vacation!! We spent a month traveling in Vietnam and splurged to end the trip with 6 nights at Saigon Phu Quoc. What a perfect way to wrap up the trip!! Great beaches, water/swimming, food, staff and room. And only a short walk to town for eating at the night market, too. All the staff were exceptionally open, friendly, and helpful, including help with some Vietnamese pronunciations and phrases beyond those we knew. We made especially nice connections with Nhut, Trang, and Ung. And the breakfasts were excellent, which for us meant they included a lot of really fresh and well prepared Vietnamese food. They had all the other stuff, too, but we travel to eat the local food, so we don't want to waste even a breakfast on food that's typical for us. If we're able to get back to Phu Quoc someday, which I hope we are, we'll definitely stay at Saigon Phu Quoc. We very highly recommend this place!!

Wonderful service but not exactly as shown”
I researched all resorts in Phu Quoc and chose Saigon Phu Quoc as the best value for money. The photos on Agoda are very attractive, but many are promotional photos taken either when the resort first opened. A few photos are just not accurate; changes have been made to the resort which should be shown on the website. First, there's a short, cement retaining wall that runs right through the middle of the beach, so you have to step on to the wall and negotiate some slippery, mossy steps to get into the water (not to mention it's ugly). Because I had small children, I was nervous letting them near these "steps". I had to help them into and out of the water each time; not fun and tough to relax. So the aerial photo of the resort with the gorgeous beach line is not completely accurate. Secondly, they showed some stock photos of people enjoying wonderful water sports, but in reality they only had a couple of old, beat-up kayaks with broken paddles. Next, one of the services listed is a Kids Club, which was closed when we arrived; they're expanding the spa in its place. Lastly, the resort has full page, colour ads posted around the resort (and on the web) showing an amazing nightly buffet with crab. We clearly asked the staff, before we decided to try the buffet, if there was crab as it's my wife's favourite. They clearly confirmed they did. We sat down to eat, looked for the crab, asked the same staff member where the crab was only to have her apologize that they don't have any. Really!??? C'mon! Lots of false advertising with this resort. Look at what the resort offers and take away about 20%, and that should be about right. BUT, despite a few disappointments, we still enjoyed the atmosphere, location, access to the beach, massage on the beach, and the friendliness of the staff. I suppose, in the end, we received our money's worth as the room rates were low due to low season. We enjoyed our trip overall and would consider returning to Saigon Phu Quoc.

Not a 4-star hotel but still nice”
There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is 10-15 walk into town, which is about as close as any hotel gets. There are free bicycles to use, though I didn't see many people riding them around Phu Quoc. Taxis are generally cheap ($1-2 to get into town) and given mid-day heat, that's what we usually chose. The pool is quite nice and gets up to 2.5 meters deep, which isn't that common in Asia. The beach is kept in good condition (I'm sure it is quite a lot of work) and since it faces west (as most of the hotels on Phu Quoc do) it has some of the nicest sunsets in Vietnam. Prices are hotel-expensive for most things. An ice cream that costs 20,000VND across the street will cost you 60,000VND inside the hotel. Tiger beer is likewise triple price. I didn't mind (too much) since that's how all hotels are. The buffet was pretty average—nothing to write home about. After two days of breakfast buffet we opted to eat outside the hotel. There is a tiny (minuscule) "beach bar" that can seat about 6 people. We were the only people there, so maybe that's all they need. But it would have been nice to have that full "beach bar" experience sitting, drinking cocktails for hours; there are other places along Long Beach where you can get that, though. The room was nice. Good curtains kept it pitch dark when we wanted to sleep. As other reviewers have noted, the beds are ridiculously large. The biggest bed I've ever slept in. There is a small verandah with two chairs. We tried sitting out there one night but got devoured by mosquitos so retreated to the room after a few minutes. All in all, I'd stay here again (assuming it is price competitive with the dozens of other hotels that are springing up on Phu Quoc).

Oceanview from bungalow is breathtaking ”
Staff are super. Breakfast is excellent. Room is dated and small but clean . The oceanview from bungalow is superb. I would take the view and being right on the beach over a luxury hotel. We stayed at super luxurious Thien Thanh oceanview room (far from beach) but prefer the oceanview bungalow right on beach at saigon Phu Quoc. Overall I would not stay in standard room but the oceanview bungalow was worth it and made my stay phenomenal. You will have to choose if the room is important at a newer hotel or the view and being right on the beach at Saigon Phu Quoc is important.

Lovely little beach with umbrellas and good size pool. Tea & coffee making, fridge very good amenities. Cheap massage and spa. Free shuttle to the airport. Especially, the foods in breakfast and dinner buffet were very delicious and attractive. We had a fantastic holiday at Saigon Phu quoc resort. I think you should visit there to enjoy for your holiday.

Great location”
the saigon Phu Quoc resort is in the perfect location. Our stay was very enjoyable and would recomend it as the place to stay if visiting the island. Breakfast is fantastic with a variety of food to die for. I thought food and drinks in the resort was overpriced considering you can walk a matter of minutes and pay half the price in town. The night markets are only minutes walk away and is a must for a delicious seafood meal. Highly recommend it.

Service Plus”
I had a short stay of 4 nights at the resort and I found the service to be friendly and efficient in all parts of the resort. The room was kept brilliantly with ongoing top ups of water, fruit and towels. The staff were great at their jobs, helpful in everything and extremely patient with teaching us some Vietnamese words. I would recommend Saigon Phu Quoc Resort for a stay on the island and will return myself sometime.

Relax by the pool o beach? Tough decisions!”
We stayed at Saigon Phu Quoc for 4 nights and did not want to leave. The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. Tranquil surroundings! A great get away from the hustle and bustle! The resort is a five minute walk into the centre of the township where you can visit night markets or watch the sunset over the fishing boats moored at the river entrance. We hired motorbikes just outside the resort for $10(AU) for a full day. Definately a highlight of our stay at Phu Quoc Island!

Nice time in a beautiful resort ”
We had a good time staying in Saigon Phu Quoc Hotel. It is silent, beautiful and clean. Staffs are friendly, they tried to find a doctor for my mother at night, ready to serve breakfast in room. Beach is execellent even in the rainy season. Not many choices in breakfast but still acceptable. I will recommend this hotel to my friends if they intend to go to Phu Quoc Island.

Everything we needed in a great location”
Stayed at Saigon Phu Quoc in October 2012, just before peak season and after low. Because of this we got a great deal at the hotel and were very lucky with the weather. The hotel was not busy at all so there was plenty of room and staff to assist. The beach was perfect for that time of year as well because it was so quiet. The hotel is right on the beach but I imagine it wouldn't be so great during peak season as the beach is incredibly small (long but not very wide - enough for a row of sun beds). Staff at the hotel were very friendly. The hotel food was not great but there were some fantastic local restaurants and a fantastic night market in town with plenty to offer (5-10min walk). Our room was great with nothing to really complain about and it looked as though they were renovating the bathrooms. Ours hadn't been renovated but was perfectly fine. They are building an international airport on the island which should be completed within 2 years. Visit Phu Quoc before that! The international airport will bring lots of tourists to a small, quiet and beautiful island.

Wonderful experience, but a little boring”
We had a great stay here. The staff were wonderful and the facilities were excellent. Food was lovely and the view from the room was great. There are excursions that you can take from the hotel and the other beaches on the island are great to visit. We stayed here for 10 days and went to Saigon for 4- we could have spent less time in Phu Quoc since there's so little to do. Enjoy yourselves there.

Love this place ! ”
Stay here. This resort was the first one built on the island and its lovely. The pool is great, rooms are big and spacious and the staff is wonderful and attentive. The food could be a bit better but the prices are good and the nightly BBQ buffet is a good price for what you get ! If we come back to Phu Quoc, we will definitely stay here !!
