We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!. ”
For such a small community in a secluded part of Australia, the Ayres Rock Resort and specifically Sails were in all honesty one of the most comfortable and enjoyable experiences we’ve had as a family!! Everyone and everything was faultless. Thank you!!

Perfection in the Desert ”
This hotel may be expensive but will surpass your expectations. Only drawback is food and drinks are expensive, but then again this is the middle of Australia.

Sales a great place to stay”
A great place to stay but very expensive in every way! My wife and I stayed here and the room was probably one of the best laid out and equiped rooms I have ever stayed in. You are at their mercy so bring plenty of cash!! Overall fantastic hotel!

Sails in the Desert. ”
For the price of a superior king room, I was far from impressed. Nothing special about it. I have had more luxurious at a quarter of the price. Trying to have our room made up took till 3 pm after two requests to have it done. we had been up since 5.00am to ‘enjoy a sunrise, and would loved to return and relax in a clean room.

A good hotel”
It is claimed to be a five star hotel. It’s close, especially considering it’s in the desert.

Best option in the area”
Not 5 star by international standard, exterior paint of building overall feels dated, but room is ok and spacious. Clean updated bathrooms. Buffet dinner was ok, small selection of food but works well for us. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Rip Off”
We paid over $600 for one night. The bed had a stain on it, the power was off for about an hour and the staff in the morning were rude. Yelled from one side of the bar to come around to get served. Would not recommend. And the heater did not work.

A nice place to stay at Uluru”
Our room feature modern bathroom with the latest amenities. It feature a deluxe king. It include air-conditioning, TV, movies on demand, minibar and bathrobes are provided. The Hotel also features the acclaimed Mulgara Gallery. There are many aboriginal arts worth to buy. The reception can talk very good Japaness or English. The tourist service is very friendly and helpful. Every room has a balcony, sitting on the chair and enjoy the free time is the most wonderful moment. The hotel is near the supermarket and the Uluru national park. Very good location. By day, we journey into the homeland of Anangu or Embark on a base walk of Uluru . Hike through the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta , take ride on a Harley Davidson. By night, we dine under a canopy of stars accompanied by the ancient sounds of a lone didgeridoo at the award-winning Sounds of Silence dinner. And after, tour the southern night sky with a resident astronomer. At Voyages Sails in the Desert, we can slip into comfort and luxury, right in the heart of the Central Australian Outback. Relax in spacious, airy, beautifully appointed rooms, enjoy cocktails by the pool, or sit back and relax under the magnificent white sails.

better than expected”
we had dinner under Ayers Rock [Uluru]. the food was excellent, and the staff ,great. Sitting there under the Red Rock at sunset was amazing. After dinner the stars were out in the millions. One of the staff took us on a tour of our Solar System using a Laser Pointer, including a far away galaxy that ,at night, is very visible.

Fantastic hotel ”
I stayed 3 nights in this hotel and it was a very good experience. The rooms are spacious with 2 queen size beds, desk and a big bathroom with shower in the bath tube. It is well decorated with a well sized terrace and a good minibar selection. The information upon check in is clear and good. There is free wifi in the lobby but for the rooms it is charged with a package rate of 30$ for 3 days and a very good connection. I was too tired to go out after the many trips I did in this area and I ordered twice room service which came within the expected time (15-20min) and was good quality food. All in Ayers Rock Resort is at walking distance from the resort like supermarket and some restaurants. If you are eating in one of the other resorts you can still charge it to your room as all resorts are connected. If you want to pamper yourself after a full day of exhausting trips, this is a great place to relax; it is not cheap but I would go back here if I would ever return!

Excellent hotel”
The hotel is situated in the Ayres Rock Resort which is a collection of hotels, apartments, and a campsite near Ayres Rock or Uluru as it is also known. There is also a supermarket and a few other shops in the "Town Square" . We stayed in a suite which was very spacious and comfortable and had breakfast in the restaurant which was very good with a wide selection of food to suit all tastes. The sounds of silence experience is well worth doing as dining under the stars is quite magical if a little expensive. Checking in was a bit slow but the staff were very friendly and very helpful. We had made a mistake when booking the sounds of silence experience but it was quickly rectified without any fuss. If we ever return we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Only other choice is camping.”
Sails in the Desert is very expensive, but the only other choice is to camp out in a tent or caravan. It is a 6 hour drive from Alice Springs for us folks that like to self-guide. Having said that, the resort itself is in very good shape. Responsive staff, excellent service, several eating choices, and comfortable beds. Dinnertime can be crowded at restaurants so book early. Petrol is expensive going for $2.15 per liter in July 2018 at the only station near Uluru.
