This Hotel FAILS on every level!!!”
I have stayed in many hotels all over the world and all sorts of different grades of hotel so i am used to less than perfect hotels or less than perfect service. I have also seen what good can really look like. St Georges Hotel was truly awful and for the price has absolutely no redeeming features apart from possibly its location. As we stepped out of the lift we knew we had made a mistake the carpets were threadbare and the decor tired and peeling. Our room was dirty, lights did not work, the shower did not work, the tiles in the bathroom were cracked and damaged and the toilet roll holder hanging off the wall. Again the carpet was threadbare and not at all clean. What a rip off, it made me ashamed and sad that this is possible in our capital city and so glad we were only booked for one night. The hotel has nothing good worth mentioning. When i complained on check out i was told the hotel manager would email me later that day. No email has arrived. DO NOT BOOK THIS AWFUL HOTEL
Discounted rate, great value”
Paid less than £100/night, which was incredible value. This is a well appointed hotel with very comfortable beds, though in a few areas it is starting to look a little tired. However, it's being refurbished right now, can't wait to see the end result.
Good location but hotel is old”
The hot water supply is not stable. Room is big. Staff are friendly. Just few mins walk to underground station. Many restaurants around the hotel. Overall is good to stay.
The building is hoplessly sixties, somewhat worn down, but the room is perefectly clean and flawlessly serviced. The staff was very helpful, assisting in checking in and printing the boarding passes, ordering transfer for dawn, urging it, when it was a few minutes late and in giving general advice. Tee and biscuit is offered in the room the temperature of which can be regulated by the guest. We stayed on floor 12, that had a marvelous view and was prefectly silent , even if it weas only three minutes from Oxford Circus. The price of the room is not modest in European comparison but understandable in the London context
Excellent hotel in perfect location.”
I spent 8 nights in Saint Georges Hotel and it was a great stay. The hotel is old and under renovation, but the room is big and clean, there is everything one can need for a comfortable stay-from good Wi-Fi to hairdryer, mini fridge and kettle.Bed is good, there was a small sitting area and room was cleaned every day.Staff is very polite and efficient, they let me stay a few more hours after check out too.And you can't beat the location-in a heart of all shopping action,on Regent St. 5 minutes walk to Oxford St.Station and every huge department store one can think of. Carnaby st. is 10 minutes walk, there are many eateries on the street and bus stop. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the location alone, but its good in general and fantastic value for money.
Excellent location close to Oxford Circus tube.”
This is a long established hotel beside the BBC. The dinning room is the 15th floor - it’s relaxing to have breakfast with a view that gives this hotel something special. The decor is a little tired and dated in certain areas but the staff are efficient and courteous . Work was being carried out when we were there but it didn’t effect us at all. I stay annually and would recommend it particularly for location.
Great hotel. Exceptionally clean and the location is prime. Its location is perhaps the best if you want to stay on oxford. Only issue is that the rooms are a bit small but manageable. The superior rooms which are more expensive are infact smaller. So book the executive rooms only!
Awesome hotel on Regent Street!”
The hotel location was second to none. Right on Regent Street and walking distance to everywhere you would want to go in London. Fantastic cafes and restaurants nearby, barely a 2 minute walk to Oxford Street and the staff were just excellent. Excellent value for where it was.
Comfortable hotel at a good location”
A very pleasant 7 night stay. Inspite of renovation works and noise that can start as early as 8.30am in the morning in the hotel as well as hotel exterior (right outside my window on the 9th floor), the size and cleanliness of the room and toilet makes up for the noise.
Location 👍If you are going to be out and about whole day. Yes highly recommended! ”
Reception was good. Bellboy didn't help at all. Was told couple of times to bring luggages up the room. Grumpy. Banged the room door after putting bags down!! LOL. Requested for a new room given 1207. Nice clean & great view. Drilling right ontop of my room. Thank God for airplane earplugs! Muffled enough to get ready to run away for the day! Reception did notify about construction timing but I still need the panadol.
I was very disappointed when we arrived the hotel it was very cold inside the room.”
They only provide portable heater which is not enough to heat the room and we ended putting our jacket when we sleep bevause we are freezing .
A hidden gem in one of London’s busiest locations. The hotel is quietly tucked away in a corner - the higher rooms have a great view across the skyline and have the added bonus of having windows that open. Also, not stiflingly hot like a lot of other places.
Excellent location, spacious room, amazing view and very accomodating staff. I was in London with a good friend and we stayed in a spacious twin room on the 14th floor. The view from the room was amazing! We could see the London Eye and the east side of the city.
Some rooms better than others”
There were 8 couples who stayed here, my room 1212 was lovely, clean, comfy, king bed etc but my friends rooms weren’t. They had small doubles, old fashioned furniture and chipped bathroom sinks with outdated decor. The floor 15 bar was lovely although service was slow
The room that I stayed in was very dark, and had really old furniture. The cold tap on the bathroom sink was also not working. The pictures of the hotel room and bathroom shown on Agoda do not reflect the true state of affairs.
Comfortable. Predictable ”
I have stayed here off and on on a yearly basis for the last 15 years. Some of the staff have been here the whole time. The location is great and the staff very helpful. I don't look anywhere else... if I am coming to London I stay here.!
The bathroom was lovely but the room looked nothing like any pictures. Wifi incredibly slow. The view from the top floor bar and restaurant amazing. Bed comfortable. As a single traveler, I was allocated probably what was their smallest room. For the price paid,I wouldn't go there again.
A Quiet Pleasure”
Hotel is five minutes walk from Oxford Circus, great location but traffic noise never an issue. Good sized room, good view (its next to All Souls Church and the BBC so if you have a south facing room the view, especially at night when the church is floodlit, is quite spectacular). Best power shower I have ever experienced, decent tv and in-room facilities. WiFi was tad random - the only downside, really. Would definitely stay again next time we're in London.
An affordable stay in the center of London”
The Saint Georges Hotel is a good place for people, looking for an affordable stay in the center of London Soho. The room is clean for my standard, the furniture is a used but the beds are still very comfortable. Overall, it was a very good stay for the rate, so I won´t complain to much. We didn´t had breakfast in the hotel, so we can´t comment on this. The view of the bar is amazing. The only negativ thing: I couldn´t get an invoice when I checked out. The staff said that everything is done online and I will receive the invoice via mail, which I didn´t got until now. This means I can´t get in touch with somebody to change the invoice to the company address to claim back the payment, as it was a business travel. Never had this issue before while travelling, but I will figure out how to get an invoice. Overall it was a good place to stay us, as we just slept there and enjoyed the city of London in the rest of the time!
Minutes walk to Oxford Circus Station”
Hotel is just minutes walk to Oxford Street. Check in and out was a breeze. Asked for a room with a view but was not given one. Still, you could manage the great view from their restaurant, top floor. Internet was not stable and the duty manager was really kind to reboot the modem for us. We had great Internet connection for that one time and then it was back to unstable connections the next days. Rooms were cleaned daily, towels provided, bath robes, amenities, still and sparkling mineral water bottles. Kettle for boiling hot water a big plus, with babies. Bed was comfortable, made daily. The only thing that was obviously not cleaned is the carpet. Dusty and with stains. Baby was confined to the bed during our stay. Staffs were very friendly, checking on us to make sure our stay was pleasant. We are very happy and are already planning for another trip to London!
