Homey and comfortable”
Complete with TV and DVD player, desk with mirror, refrigerator and hair dryer; I find Saint Illians Inn a satisfying place to stay and definitely worth the price. The location is not that difficult find but the availability of cabs within the area is close to non existent. I suggest that the reception assist their customers in contacting a reputable taxi service.

overall...nice”
very comfortable beds. the hotel is close to many embassies. thats why I have choosen saint Illians. also a more or less short walk to ayala and MRT. The only downside was the really loud construction noise right behind my room. woke up every day at 7 am. stayed in room 209. (southside) the rooms on the opposide arent that noisy i guess. otherwise pretty restfull there. and Yes, i also found one or two beetles in my room but we are in a tropical area so calm down... if i get a little discount and another room I would stay there again.

Quaint little inn ”
this quaint little inn is a pleasant surprise with clean and comfortable rooms. bathroom is tiny but ok. the computer with free internet at the reception area and the dvd along with tv in the room are the positive features of this inn. i never had food there, so cannot comment on the same. it is located very close to water mart and short distance from shopping malls of makati. the staff was ever smiling and outstandingly polite. management should work on proper digital safe lockers in the rooms. . i do agree with other reviews mentioning about non-availability of lift, cramped shower etc. however, this inn is a perfect place for those who want to spend the night in the hotel and tour the city during day time!

Great economy hotel close to NAIA and shopping”
still a great hotel for people just passing through for a night or two. they keep getting better each time we stay there! the place is certainly older and has some "character". each room is just a little different than other rooms. but the big pluses are location (close to naia, close to glorietta and greenbelt, close to walter mart), friendly staff (they remember us on sight), fairly clean rooms (no pests/vermin in the rooms), cable tv and dvd player, good air conditioning, and a quiet environment. if you're staying in manila long-term, you might want something a little nicer. but this hotel is great if you're just passing through manila and only staying a couple nights. we've been staying here every time we pass through manila since 2009. and the place just gets a little nicer with each visit.

Good value for the money”
I stayed at Saint Illians Inn with 2 friends and I don't have anything to complain about the hotel. It has very basic rooms, but they are clean and quite. So don't expect anything fancy, but I can recomend the place if you are looking for a cheap room near Greenbelt/Makati.

Budget place in Makati”
Never heard of this hotel but I decided to go for it after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor I went for it. The Hotel is hard to find, even if you know Makati pretty well. The location is good, just too far to walk to Greenbelt but a short taxi ride away. The rooms are clean, no frills but I had no complaints. Room service was advertised as "24 hours" on the menu but, you guessed it, the kitchen closed at 11. Really good Japanese restaurants within walking distance though. Hotel workers were friendly and helpful.

St. Illian's Inn, Makati”
St. Illian's Inn is a nice, clean budget hotel in Makati. It's close to a major thoroughfare, so easy to get to and from the airport. But...If you haven't been to the hotel before, it might be tough to get there. It's on a side street off of from the 'WalterMart' in Makati. Print out a map from the internet if you can and have the hotel phone number so that the cab driver can call the hotel if needed. I personally went walking around the neighborhood with my camera, both to the nearby mall and in the other direction. But, although I thought it a safe and interesting neighborhood, it might not be an area that everyone would be comfortable walking around in, such as families and single women.

A cozy place to stay not too far from the airort.”
my overnight stay at st. illian's inn was very pleasant, in general. the room was cozy and clean. i enjoyed a number of tv documentaries from a new wide-screen set. the members of the staff were helpful and pleasant. since my room was on the ground floor, i just had to go out of the door to have internet access. surfing and sending email was good when the internet connection was strong. the problem was, the connection did not stay strong through the night.

One of the Best Hotels we've ever stayed at”
We stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday and I can stay that we have really enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice especially the refrigerator which is a plus because we had a place where we can store our cake for his birthday. The breakfast was also good for value and tasty, we had tocino with rice and eggs and a cup of coffee in the morning. The staff were also good. We also had a 3-hour extension for a very good price which makes the stay even better. Although I thought i'll be having a room on higher floor which I requested and I also thought that our room will have a mini sofa which I saw on the pictures but overall the stay was fine. I will book here again in case we need some accommodations.

For the price this place is value for your money. professional friendly staff. They will get you a taxi and tell them to ensure the metre is on. no room service fee with good food. recommend if on a budget. Prime location 40 - 50 peso for a taxi to greenbelt without traffic.

Simple but clean hotel. Pleasant stay, and the food (room service only), is nice. The location is fine if you have to be close to Legazpi Village in Makati

Nice Tucked Away Hotel”
I was very glad to find this hotel conveniently located in Makati and in a quite residential neighborhood. It's classic style and comfortable with small but functional rooms.

Quirky place with positives and minuses”
This hotel appears to be a very lovely place with its courtyard design and homey decor. It's original and unique. That being said, the room was quite small; nowhere to even put an opened suitcase. The landline/intercom didn't work. The safe was on the very bottom of a cabinet that wasn't really accessible because a chair blocked the cabinet door. Sitting on the floor to access the safe, I discovered the battery was dead so it didn't work anyway. The room was reasonably clean but there were quite a few small roaches visiting the bathroom. The coffee shop is also quirky, and an OK place for breakfast but the prices are somewhat high for the quality received. I may or may not return to this hotel.

Will NOT stay here again”
After being a loyal customer for 4 years, this hotel finally managed to lose my business ... forever. When I left the room, I left my cellphone and laptop in the room to recharge. When I returned, everything was unplugged. That is NOT acceptable to have strange people handling my expensive personal property. I complained to the front desk, and they tried to hand me a story about "security" and "fire hazard." I would not accept that explanation. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, and I have never, ever had a hotel handling my things when I left the room. In fact, I've never known another hotel to send people into my room every time I left. No, I believe the REAL reason they unplug everything is to save electricity. Of course, they deny this. However, when I notice that NONE of the rooms have smoke detectors, sprinklers, or fire extinguishers, maybe they really are worried about fires. In either case, the hotel is very unsafe in a fire situation, and the staff "invades" your room and handles your things each time you leave. The location is good, and the price is acceptable ... But I will not stay at this hotel again. If they were to accidentally break my cellphone or laptop while handling it, I'm afraid the hotel would not accept responsibility for it. No thanks. I will never return here.

OK for the price”
around 3-5 minute walk to Walter Mart. less than 10 minutes by taxi to Glorietta seems dark & old, but ok if just for sleeping at a cheap price, no bed bugs or funny smells or visible dirt... clean enough & bellboys are way friendlier & more helpful than the receptionists checked in late, past midnight, had to read i think a whole page of house rules on the spot... took a glimpse & signed it anyway stayed on the 4th floor & there was no elevator... 'coz 'twas "antique" stayed 2 nights; 3 of us tried sleeping in a room by sticking 2 beds together... not a good idea... got a call from reception on the 2nd night telling us we had to pay for extra guest for both nights... so we requested an extra bed that night room was too hot (maybe because there were 3 of us), didn't get cooler until we turned off all the lights not too bad if you want to sleep cheap didn't try having breakfast there

You get your money's worth.”
I'm a very satisfied traveller staying in this hotel. Rooms were ok. Service was fast. It is located near the venue where our meeting was held. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Quaint, but NO amenities at all”
If you want to feel like a journalist living in a cheap hotel posted in Manila in the 1950s, then this hotel is for you! Despite the many cons, the place has a quirky anachronistic air about it. I think that they charge for joiners, but did not test this rule.

Great Economy Hotel with No Frills”
This is a great place to stay if you're looking for just that - a place to stay. If you are looking for a gymnasium, pool, conference room ... then this is not the hotel for you. Rooms are clean and in reasonably good repair, but the entire construction is very, very old. I must say, the interior architecture in the hallways is interesting. A big plus - we found no roaches, rats, or ants in the rooms. You might not think that's a big deal, but in The Philippines, having a room with no pests IS a big deal.
