Worth considering”
we've just returned from a three night stay in paris and the saint james & albany hotel. having stayed in paris before i think it's important to understand that paris hotels are generally very expensive, similar to other european capitals, and often created out of building that were initially created for a different purpose. with that as a background the st james is ok. the ground floor we found very attractive, a nice reception area, although only three check in / out desks, and several nice court yard areas for drinking and eating supplied by several of the hotel's bars and restaurants. the rooms are generally less attractive and less modern as compared to the ground floor and from discussions with others the rooms can vary immensely in size shape and quality and from renovated to not renovated but our room was large quiet and reasonably well equipped although a coffee tray would have been appreciated. the hotel offers free wifi and cabled internet access which for me is a big positive for either business or personal usage if a tourist or on business the hotel is central to much of the city and from a tourist's point of view very convenient and near to a number of the key sites and areas of interest which are walkable from the hotel. we ate only breakfast in the hotel, which at €22 is not cheap for a tourist's budget, but the service for breakfast, drinks in the bars and at reception was good to very good so no complaints here.
Excellent Parisian Hotel”
This was our third trip to Paris and this is certainly the best hotel we have stayed at compared to the dives we have stayed in on previous visits. It costs a bit more than some hotels but staying in Paris is not cheap if you want good accomodation. The hotel is clean and offers all modern facilities. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The photos are an accurate reflection of the property and it will probably be better once they have completed all their renovations. The food prices in the restaurant were quite reasonable given the tourist location and some of the other hotels in the area. The location is superb with the Louvre and the Tuilleries across the road. It is als close to most of the other major tourist attractions. The metro is approximately 30 meters across the road and there are lots of little cafes very close by. I would thoroughly reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants value for money and a great location. The only thing I think they need to provide is coffee and tea making facilities in the rooms. This was also lacking in a 5 star hotel we stayed at in Epernay so it must be a common theme in French hotels. Overall I think it is excellent and I would happily stay there again. Great Location”
The Saint James is located centrally, feels like Paris. Rooms are nicely decorated, though slightly old feeling. The lobby is quite nice and comfortable to relax in, whether doing some work or having a cocktail. It is easy to walk to many good restaurants and the Tulieres Garden is right across the street. A great place to stay for a romantic getaway.
great Paris hotel”
This is my second stay at the hotel and it suits me perfectly for a stay in Paris. The 1st Arrondissement is by far the best place for a tourist to stay, and this hotel is located right in the middle, a short walk from the Louvre. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and bright. (
Great Stay in Paris”
I have stayed here often and always find the staff helpful and polite. The location is perfect and the rooms are nice. The hotel is good as it is, but the spa, fitness and pool are being renovated and the hotel will soon be even better, I recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Paris.
great location, friendly helpful staff”
very nice hotel especially for a week end shopping stay. central to paris and easy to reach with all means of transportation. the local underground is just across the street and allows easy public transportation ticket purchase. shopping, sight-seeing and nice walks are only a few feet away! the hotel is central yet quiet- a great week end or business hotel stay in paris.
Excellent hotel with helpful staff”
although arriving early as my room was ready i was shown to it immediately. the staff were extremely nice and nothing was too much trouble for them. hotel is very well placed near to the louvre etc. and we enjoyed a wonderful day sight seeing knowing that it was not to far to get back to the hotel for a wonderful cup of tea served in the hotel bar. would stay here again without a doubt.
Perfect location near Louvre”
Hotel is 5 mins walking distance to Louvre, 15 to the dinner cruise, and around are gift shops, money changers, restaurants incl McDonalds, and 1 block away to branded stores and there's a carnival across the street. The facility is very good and clean. The room has no built in aircon but they provide portable aircon which is also very good. It just gets noisy at daytime due to an ongoing road construction.

Great location, very nice hotel”
we were upgraded from a standard room to a junior suite, however the room was actually the attic of the palace. made for an interesting stay. the fact that the room was very large we did not complain. the hotel is in the best location right opposite the louvre, and on a metro line, so makes for easy walking or public transport to anywhere in paris. we would stay again.
Really friendly and helpful staff and excellent location”
The Hotel is located within 5 minutes walking distance of the Louvre and has a metro opposite the entrance. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast each morning was very pleasant. The rooms, although a little dated were a good size with all amenities that you would expect. The pool for our teenagers was an added bonus !
Dear Niamh, Thank you so much for such a very nice review ! it is really very important to us you enjoyed your stay and the location of our property. This really helps us to maintain our level of service ! We hope to welcome you back very soon for your next stay. With my best regards, Maud Saulnier
Perfectly Comfortable”
We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Paris and couldn't have been happier with the service. After an 18 hour flight and 6 hours of wandering around the city it was lovely to come back to our clean and comfortable room to relax. The staff were very helpful and the location was PERFECT!!! I would highly recommend this hotel!!
Comfortable stay in the heart of Paris”
Our stay was wonderful. The room was clean and bed comfortable with high speed internet and fast room service. The staff was helpful and friendly and the food at the restaurant was great. The only complaint is that the room did not come with a bathtub, only a shower. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Paris for the first time as it is right next to major attractions.
Great location and helpful staff”
this is a fine hotel that is still in the process of further renovations. it has a 15 meter pool and will soon have a spa and fitness room. the plant consists of several historic buildings joined together around a courtyard and has some very pretty detail. th staff is outstanding and always helpful. i have stayed here three times and plan to go back.
Stay”
The room was alright. Pretty old, but considering how old paris is. The bed is comfortable! Location is excellent! Walking distance to everything. Staff is great and friendly! Slow wifi in our room on the 7th floor, but fast in the lobby. I wish it was faster in the room considering I had the junior suite. Overall, 4.5/5, in my opinion.
Dear Darell, We thank you for your the time you passed leaving a comment about your stay. We are pleased to learn that you had a great time with us ! It has been a great pleasure to welcoming you here at the Saint James Albany we would be delighted to having you back. Best Regards, Maud Saulnier
Great location and nice room, but very bad service”
The recepcion staf was not very profesional for this kind of hotel..the gentlemam who should help us with any travel questions was so bad, he didint even give us any good advice for any visit in Paris..and the when we wanted a taxi for the waz to the airport he told us that specialy that day there is a big strike in Paris and there is no way to get a taxi so we need to take the privet car driver from the hotel..and to pay about 110 eur more than for a taxi..after one hour when we ask to a nother receptionist there was no problem to get a taxi..I think thats very unfair fron them to ask for 445 ero per room and give such a bad servis..and also the spa was not open so we didnt even try it..thanks
Perfect location!”
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Location was absolutely perfect, in the city center. We were overall very pleased with this hotel during our stay in Paris.
Amazing Hotel, Great location!”
Amazing stay, we got upgraded to the suite on top of the hotel that is like an apartment, it has kitchen / dining zone, also washing machine everything convenience, then seperate living area is big, and seperate bedroom connected to great size bathroom, the suite has amazing view; which is the left window of the suite u are facing totally the Jardin des Tuileries, and on the right window of the suite u will see paris rooftop and monmartre.....really amazing.....!!
Excellent location, great service, aging facilities”
For its price and location (right across the Tuileries Metro Station, which is along the M1 Yellow line), you cannot get a better deal. The place is upscale, with lots of souvenier shops, cafes, currency exchange centers. It feels very safe walking about at night, also. Yes, some of the facilities are dated, but it was still worth it. Highly recommended!
Great Location! But Receptionist take my deposit.”
at the beginning, one of the receptionist ask me for credit card and deposit 100 euro as usual. but this time i don't know the front-desk forgot to give me back or they purposely take that amount of money. anyway, food is okay but very less variety buffet. the location is nice to go everywhere in the paris. subway is just in front of the hotel.
perfect location”
the location is perfect, 1 mins walk to metro, lots of resturants around! the park and musee de louvre just across the street!
