Saka Hotel Kyoto
The staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband and I had a very good experience here. Thanks.
Very beautiful hotel in a great location!”
This must have been one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed at from the many travels we’ve had. Great location, friendly staff, the room we stayed at was awesome! Love the attention to detail they put to make the guests really feel comfortable!
Great quiet location near the shrine”
Rooms were wonderful, spacious, with wooden bathtub. Clean but for some reason, it's a little but dusty in the corridors. Staff were amazing. Location is just what we wanted. Quiet, away from the city but still walking distance to the shrine. Not close to the subway station though. Food was great too. Had a memorable time there
Best hotel in Kyoto”
I had a wonderful stay and memories in Kyoto and this hotel was a big part of it. Check in was smooth and the staff gave good recommendations on dining and where to go about. The room was wonderful and I love the wooden bath tub! It’s located a bit far out from the city but most of the shrines are within walking distance. I will definitely come back to this hotel when I visit Kyoto!
This is the best hotel my wife and I stayed during our trip to Japan. Rooms were spacious, staff were super friendly and helpful, the private onsen and attention to detail of service was top notch! Knowing it was our honeymoon trip, they even prepared sparkling wine in room upon arrival. Thanks for the great service. Definitely coming back!
Amazing and tranquil boutique hotel”
Wonderful hotel with a relaxing feel. We had 2 children in our room on futons. The location was walking distance to lots of places to eat and areas of interest. The evening drinks and coffees was a really nice touch. The wooden bath with sake was a lovely addition. This was truly a lovely hotel. We didn’t eat at this hotel so we can’t comment.
The staffs are very helpful”
I lost my 2 iphones in taxi, they helped us to find them, I got them back, Thanks a lot. The location is great, no far from tourist attractions. The room is very clean. If i am back, I definitely stay in this hotel.
Pricey but great experience! Food was AMAZING”
Really enjoyed our stay there. Japanese style with a modern touch. Spacious room (we booked the Moderate Double Room), got a Japanese style wooden bathtub (loved it, they offered sake bath), comfortable bed, high quality amenities including heated eye masks. There’s a lounge area for complimentary Prosecco, juice, coffee and tea and snacks. Our room included breakfast and Kaiseki dinner - do not miss out on these if your budget allows. Great experience of traditional Japanese meals. The dinner was 7-course and every dish was AMAZINGLY presented and very tasty. Excellent service from the hotel staff. Highly recommend this place and will definitely go back again.
Great hotel with nice designs. The amenities and complimentary in this hotel is very good. The hotel location is about a 15-20 min walk from Gion. The hotel staff were all very helpful and polite, but I feel that the hotel may be a bit understaffed.
Excellent experience with everything staying at this hotel”
Our family are very satisfied with the friendly service, clean room and delicious breakfast. We stayed in several different hotels including Hilton Tokyo during the trip and this is obviously the best one. We would use the same hotel next time in Kyoto.
Our stay here was memorable. ”
we were well looked after by the wonderful and caring staff. The kaiseki and Japanese breakfast were special and it was our first time eating this. We were blown away by the meals I would highly recommend this hotel for a special occasion.
nice hotel in the best area of Kyoto”
good location, big room, great japanese breakfast, friendly people, totally overpriced like all japanese hotels
Very Nice Location - but not central”
Slightly out of the way location that was beautiful to walk around the neighbourhood in the evenings. Very nice facilities & rooms and exceptionally clean and new.
Highly recommended small hotel with great rooms and professional courteous staff”
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Saka Hotel in every aspect of my stay. The staff was warm and friendly, the hotel atmosphere was quiet and serene, the room exceeded my expectation with thoughtful design and great comfort. The Japanese style bath with large wooded soaking was perfect for relaxing after a long days of sightseeing on foot. Most commendable were the meals at the hotel which allowed me to sample Japanese cuisine in a way in a way I would not have on my own. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Kyoto.
This is the place you want to go if you are looking for a real japanese experience. The best hotel we stayed in Japan.
Seriously nice hotel”
This hotel was awesome. It was a luxurious hotel with ryokan vibes. It’s nestled into a quite neighborhood on a hill and within walking distance to a local bus stop for easy access to Kyoto station and other attractions. The room we were in had a large window and we enjoyed the view whenever we could. The staff was sweet and accommodating. We arrived in from the rain and were offered hot tea and a warm hand towel. The breakfast was part of our reservation as well. It was interesting for sure. I’d love to stay here again if I ever had the chance.
Amazing new Kyoto Property”
Staying at the Saka Hotel was a highlight of our vacation to Japan. The property was gorgeous, our room a joy to stay in and within walking distance of so many incredible places in Kyoto. After busy days of touring, coming home to our room was a delightful way to unwind in calm elegance. After a ton of research, so glad we found this lovely property. Highly recommended.
A late review (my apologies) from my first Japan trip during sakura season. This hotel, staff, location was 10/10. My god, you need to treat yourself to a place like this at least once in your life. Service: I was greeted so warmly upon my arrival and they accommodated my early check in as well. The staff also graciously accommodated my allergies to seafood (yes, seafood and I'm in Japan, so sad!!!). I had the kaiseki dinner and breakfast and IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!! I was treated like a QUEEN. Room: BEAUTIFUL. It was like a modern ryokan. I booked the room with private onsen and it was so relaxing and luxurious with great Japanese style. Pajamas and all the amenities you can think of were provided. Beds were comfortable and clean. I felt safe and at peace here with the warm and quiet atmosphere. Location: Walking distance (3-5 mins) from Kiyomizudera Temple and lots of cute shops! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!! Thank you, Saka Hotel!!!
Clean and comfortable! Great location! ”
I was born in Japan, but has been living in USA for years. I stayed at this hotel with my daughter and grandson. I was so impressed by the facility and the staff and their hospitality. So helpful! I've already decided... that I will stay longer next time and recommend this hotel to my American friends who will be visiting Kyoto in the near future.
i love everything about this hotel, the sake bath is super good and my kids loves the lounge so much, free flow candy and ice cream, will definietly come back to this hotel again when i came to kyoto!
