The hotel staff is renowned for their remarkable assistance in travel arrangements and the location is ideal, near Kiyomizu-dera temple and Ninenzaka street, providing easy access to nearby bus lines. The ample Japanese-style rooms are neat and tidy with separate shower/bathtub and toilet, ensuring a comfortable stay. Wooden hinoki bathtubs and private onsen in guest rooms create a calm atmosphere. The lounge offers complimentary drinks and snacks, including afternoon wine.

Few dining options nearby, but location is convenient with easy access to bus lines.

    “All’s good except price ”

Excellent experience for a private onsen. Friendly and welcoming staff who can speak adequate English. Excellent breakfast as well as a good lounge which opens till late. Price wise is slightly steeper but you pay for the experience of private onsen.

“A very memorable and comfortable stay in Kyoto”

We only stayed in Kyoto for two nights and wanted to do something a little more traditional and comfortable than our accommodation elsewhere. Saka Hotel seemed like the best option for this, whilst also offering a good level of comfort. We opted for their Japanese style rooms and had an amazing stay, our kids especially enjoyed the complimentary traditional style pyjamas, the Japanese breakfast on both days and the location near Gion. We also enjoyed all of the special touches that made our stay as comfortable as possible, such as complimentary ice creams, coffee station, maps and also the hotel organising luggage forwarding for us at short notice. Would very highly recommend to anyone else visiting Kyoto and we wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again. Thanks for a memorable stay and a highlight of our trip.

    “Saka Hotel Kyoto review”

Saka Hotel Kyoto was a great hotel to stay in on our visit. The location was great and the hotel, staff and amenities were great. I would highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was great and we also had a traditional dinner which was good. The alcohol tasting session at night was very good also. The hospitality room with tea, coffee, snacks etc was a fantastic freebie offer.

“The only hotel I ever know serve free liquor”

Just around at the most important spot in Kyoto which is Kiyomizu area. Staffs are super friendly and the hotel room is very big. What surprising me most are the free sake bath and the free red wine , XO and some other liquors.
