Did you find this review summary helpful?
This place offers fantastic value for money and is conveniently located near transport links, making it easy to explore the area. The Wi-Fi is reliable, and breakfast options are quite satisfying. While the cleanliness is generally good, the bathroom could use some improvement. Overall, the staff is friendly and helpful, though the facilities are a bit basic. Still, it's a solid choice for those looking to enjoy a comfortable stay.
I used the main building [personal room]. I have traveled to many other parts of Japan, but this is my first time in Tokyo. I was shocked by the prices, but considering the quality of accommodation at this price, I don't think it's bad! The building itself is quite old, but it has everything you need, and for a short stay, it's fine. Staff - A young female staff member greeted me at first, and I was surprised by her fluent English. The older male staff member was also fluent in English. Cleaning - The cleaning is well done, with daily vacuuming, towel replacement, garbage disposal, bed-making, bathroom cleaning, and replenishment of disposables (toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, combs). Service - Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and bathrobes are provided. I saw that hair dryers can be borrowed at the front desk on the first floor at check-in, so I borrowed one, but even on high speed, the airflow was seriously weak... With long hair, it was frustrating to dry it and I almost felt like my arms would fall off. If you need a hairdryer, it's a good idea to bring a small one. There’s a refrigerator, TV, and a stand; I turned the stand on once and didn't use it, and the TV was surprisingly mini-sized, about the size of an iPad, but I used it well for checking news and time in the morning and evening. Bedding - I was so tired throughout my trip that I fell asleep as soon as I lay down, so I didn't feel any particular discomfort. It was just average. View - It's just a wall view. I was on the second floor, and I could see the expressions of passing people, so I couldn't open the curtains. There's not much to see around, so it's better not to expect much. Noise - If talking in the hallway, you can pretty much tell whether the person is male or female, even if not accurately. Fortunately, it was quieter at midnight, or maybe I was in a deep sleep because I didn't wake up in the early morning and it wasn’t particularly uncomfortable. Bathroom - Water flows well and drains properly. The toilet has a bidet, and there’s a mini-bathtub for half baths, which I really liked! Every night, I bought bath salts from Daiso to relieve the fatigue of the day. However, as mentioned in other reviews, there was a slight smell from the bathtub curtain. It seemed like the ventilation system was broken; it wasn’t working... Size - It’s suitable for a single woman, but definitely cramped for two. With a 24-inch suitcase open, it was slightly uncomfortable to move around. It’s a typical size for a Japanese hotel. Location - If you go out from Ikebukuro Station exit C6, you can reach the hotel in less than 10 minutes, and there’s an escalator at exit C6, which is very convenient, but the issue is that exit C6 is quite far from the platform. I had a forced walk every morning. There’s a Seven-Eleven, Lawson, Family Mart nearby, and it’s a 4-minute walk to Don Quijote. There are many restaurants and izakayas, multiple department stores, and easily walkable spots like Bic Camera, Sunshine City, and Mandarake, making it great for shopping! There’s a friendly information center at Ikebukuro Station, making it very helpful, and there are many subway lines departing from Ikebukuro Station, which is great! I was a bit worried about safety at night, but I think it should be fine unless it’s very early morning! Additionally, there were four coat hangers, a large mirror, a desk, and air conditioning. The air conditioning had a bit of discoloration, but fortunately, it didn't smell. However, the room itself had a slightly musty smell, but I quickly got used to it. If I didn't turn on the air conditioning, the humidity was high, so I set it to dehumidify and slept. One time I didn't turn it on and woke up due to the humidity... Most of the hotel guests were Westerners and there were many Middle Eastern individuals. I didn't see many East Asians. I was scared after reading a review about being catcalled by a white man in the lobby, but I managed to avoid it. There was a 24-hour restaurant, but I heard the breakfast wasn’t good, so I didn't feel the need to go there. Guests receive one drink coupon each, but it’s only given if you order food, so it wasn’t particularly useful... There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel, so I recommend other places. Overall, I’m satisfied. Considering the price, I had a good stay. I would consider visiting again! Oh! The hotel has a currency exchange machine and a drink vending machine, and you
The room is listed as superior double room. Although it was clean, it was a very old and ugly room, with a tiny tv. Nothing wrong with it but the price should have been at least half of what they asked. The restaurant they have is very cozy and nice, but that is open to everybody (non guests also) so it's not part of the review. Do not pretend to be 'superior' for this poor quality room.
Hostel: I stayed in the hostel where I got to share it with strangers. It was pleasant. You got to set up your own bed tho like put in the sheets yourself. The bed is firm and is still okay enough for me but the pillow is kinda thin so I folded it in half. The toilet and showers are clean and they have a nice and comfy lounge area that has a kitchen and fridge. Food/ Cafe: The cafe and hotel are separate and both are just cross each other. Tbh, don't get the free breakfast, it's not that good. Just toast, jam and soup. So it's kinda boring. The soup is simple but good tho. But omg the food that they sell for lunch and dinner is so good. I ate there burger steak with cheese and bread on top (I forgot the name of it, it's one of their international menu items) AND IT WAS SO GOOD OMG. Highly recommend buying something from their menu for dinner. They also have a lot of international alcohols and drinks. Really good, food is good. 🤤🤤🤤 Others: They do have a coin laundry and drier area at level 1. The location is near exit C6 of the Ikebukuro station. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. ☺️ ☺️ They do provide free umbrellas and pamphlets on where to go in Tokyo so that might be useful if you don't know where to go. They don't provide towels and toothbrushs but you can buy it from them. They do have a luggage storage space on level one that is guarded by the receptionists. But no lockers 🤨 idk I didn't get one I think. So carry your valuables around.

“Pleasant stay”
The location of the hotel is very strategic. It is just a 5 to 7-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, which makes moving around Tokyo convenient. There were lots of restaurants and shops around the area. You can take a bus to get to the hotel from the Narita Airport. Aside from location, what we liked about the hotel was the very friendly and efficient staff. We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room, which was generally comfortable. However, we noticed that our room had never been vacuumed during our stay, although the bed sheets and towels were replaced every day. Specks of dust had accumulated on the floor at the end of our stay. The management should also check the hotel's electric kettles. The first one we borrowed was not working, so I had to ask for a replacement. The staff member I talked to about the broken electric kettle was kind of rude. I asked him to check first if it was working. He seemed to be annoyed. He plugged it and showed me the replacement was working. I was still talking when he said good night, bye, as if he was asking me to leave immediately. The breakfast that was included was just bread, coffee, soup, butter, and jam. You can pay an extra 100 yen for 1 boiled egg. Maybe the hotel can consider adding bacon and eggs for breakfast. Overall, our stay was pleasant.
