Super welcoming hostel-style hotel”
We loved our stay here. The bunk beds of our room were firm and very comfortable. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. And the simple breakfasts of broth, toast and jam, were a great way to start the day! As 3 subway lines run through the Jimbocho station just around the corner, all major sites within Tokyo become within a 25 min. ride! So though the rooms and facilities are very simple, we’d recommend this hotel without hesitation to people liking hostel-style travel and actually intend to return there ourselves. (Only thing to note, if you are travelling with a child under 10, and pick a room for two adults and a child the hotel may assume that you and your child may be sharing your bed. Upon arrival we had to pay a very small upgrade fee to get ourselves a 3-bed room....still was a great deal and totally worth the stay). Oh and the hotel’s café serves yummy international dishes (and some nice beers and bubble tea) in a friendly and fun international atmosphere. :)
A very lively and colorful place to stay. Located within a very short walk to the Hanzomon, Shinjuku and Mita lines, so maybe keep that in mind depending on where you're planning on going in the city. The rooms we stayed in had shared bathrooms and restrooms which were fine (in room bathroom facilities are overrated anyway). There was a 100 yen charge to rent a towel, and the toilets didn't have bidets. Overall still exceeded expectations.
Value for money”
Hotel is relatively cheap compared to other tokyo hotels. A few minutes walk to the train station make this a very attractive hotel. Hotel is also in between key tokyo spots so very easy to plan your itinerary. Staff was very helpful.
nice hotel, near station”
Staff are really helpful. they gave me upgrade room from twin to triple bed room. it helped me alot since I brought 2 young children. breakfast just bread and soup but more than enough to me. near jimbocho station. maybe just 5-7 mins walk
The room I got was a reasonable size, not too small unlike some other hostels I have been to. The room is clean but the carpet is quite dusty. Toilets are and washing areas are clean. Happy with the washing machine but the clothes dryer machine isn't working well, my clothes didn't dry at all despite going for 2 runs in the dryer.
Private room for 3”
Booked a private room for 3 pax. Decent size room for Japan, but don't expect enough space for all luggage to be open on the floor. There's space under the bunk bed to keep luggage. Bathroom and toilet are clean. Only face towel and toothbrush are provided, bath towel available for rental. For private room yukata is provided. Location near Jimbocho metro subway line but 12min walk to the nearest JR line. So if you're travelling on JR pass you might wanna think twice booking here. Nice quiet neighbourhood. Staff are really friendly. Walls are quite thin so you can hear people at the corridor and in the room. Overall I would say it's a nice place to stay at.
Near the Subway with lots of restaurant around”
we stay at 5 beds room, the room little bit small, but its okay, with shower rooms and the toilet is just in front of the room. lots of good restaurants around, stores with nice neighborhood. 10 minutes walk to Suidobashi JR Station 3 minutes walk to Jimbocho subway sta Overall very nice stay, thank you
Great staff and nice hotel”
Affordable hotel to stay in Tokyo, the only downside is the little number of restaurants around the area if you want eat out or have beer at night, you have to walk or travel to other districts of Tokyo. Good thing, It’s near the Jimbocho Station where you can take trains going yo Asakusa/Shibuya in one ride. I love the breakfast set and the red bean chocolate spread.
A place where it feels like home”
I had a cozy stay at the hotel. The facilities were good even though it is a shared bathroom. The dining area gives you a relaxing feels and the food on their menu tastes good! I honestly enjoyed their free breakfast The staffs were very accomodating too. I'll surely return when there's a chance
Great for the budget traveller ”
The staff are great. They are always willing to help out! The rooms were also great, I read a load of reviews saying there'd be bedbugs so I came prepared with a sleeping bag incase, I'm happy to say these are inaccurate. Not a bug in sight, everything was very clean and fresh. The proximity to Jimbocho Station is a huge plus as two stops down you are in the heart of Akihabara (if you're going for the anime dive, this place is perfect). The morning free breakfast is a little weak but nothing beyond a holiday Inn back home. If you like toast, you're fine. The bathroom facilities are pretty good, you're supplied with shower amenities so that's good. I was parked in room 305 and during my stay I had no quarrels, the wardrobe door was a bit irritating but I can live with it for the miniscule cost. The 24/7 open door is a plus, I did find myself rolling in very late after spending time watching the sun set over in Tokyo without the worry of reprimanding for timing. I'll be back for sure.
welcoming staff ”
The staff really helped us to figure out how to plan our travel. It has very close proximity to the art museum and the castle. Overall a very nice place and atmosphere Definitely recommend it and will try the next time I come
very friendly staff”
the hotel is so near the jimbocho station no matter what exit. the staff are so friendly they love talking to our child :) they are very accommodating they even let us leave our bags for a day while we were at disneyland and for FREE! though this may not be your elegant type of room, the service is definitely 5 star! thanks Sakura Hotel! will definitely book again when we return to tokyo :)
5 star staff”
A 2 star hotel with a 5 star Staffs made Sakura hotel Jimbocho stood out! They offered not only good accommodation, but heart warming service to their guests. Thank you again guys! Will definitely come back !
Definitely worth it!”
Everything was perfect! The place is located near Jimbocho station and all staff are fluent in English :) I love the soup they serve every morning. It changes every day and is extremely tasty! I would love to stay here again for sure if I have a chance to visit Tokyo in the future!
Location is too far from main tourism spots.”
I booked here because it was near a subway station. However i did not know it would take at least one transfer to any major tourism spots. To get to Disney land it took us 3 transfer. If you have heavy carrier bags, if you don't have strong muscle forget about staying here. Having to transfer multiple times and going up and down of steps carry heavy carriers and most of time either I didn't see an elevator or hard to find, the journey to and from this hotel made us very exhausted. Don't be fooled by many favourable feedback as any person who leaves the feedback would get a free coffee. However the room was cleaned every day and the staff at the reception was very professional and speak good English. It provides a very basic free breakfast - toasts, coffee and soup but we never ate there. Overall we regret staying there simply due to having to travel via different lines of subways and walk up and down of steps. Nothing to do in Jimbocho. Restaurants there you can just pass. I would strongly recommend you to consider a place near to one of Central location of many spots you will visit and making sure the place is near to a subway station. I would have chosen near to one of transfer stations to be strageically wise. Don't underestimate the time you have to travel and number of steps you have to walk and also the cost of travelling. Although I was okay with the hotel, room, service and staff, I would not recommend this simply due to the location - my personal opinion. If you were going to visit Disney land you must choose somewhere better located or you will be exhausted after the day from Disney and having to transfer 3 times to get there and walk many steps. I would not go there again.
Clean, cosy, feels like home”
The service here really stood out! The reception staff are more than happy to help out and give out advice about sightseeing. Rooms are small but the shared facilities are kept very clean. Train station less than a 5 minute walk away, and convenience shops around the corner. Very pleasant stay :)
GOOD ACCOMMODATION AT GREAT PRICE”
they have a small restaurant lounge downstairs where you can drink and meet new friends. it will be better if they install washlet to the toilet.
Easy access to metro and surrounding with restaurants and convenient store. Room has been cleaned daily.
Value for money hotel in a convenient location”
Jimbocho might not be the locale of choice for most travelers, but the room was value for money and had sufficient space to accommodate me and my belongings. The neighborhood also had wonderful eateries and conveniently located near two train stations.
Cheap stay around Tokyo”
The location is very accessible. Its a 10-minute ealk from Jimbocho Station. There are tourist spots that are walking distance from the hotel. Food is also fine. Cheap place to stay in Tokyo but the place is clean.
