Good, but left after 1 night (terrible curtain system, no lockers)
It's a popular chain hotel, so it's crowded in the rooms. *The only real problem I have (which i think is a huge one though it's not something people think about) is that the bed curtains are on metal hooks which are on a non-smooth metal track...even if you open/close them slowly, they're still kind of loud. the real problem is that most people don't think about it and open them quickly, and I couldn't sleep because people were doing this even at 2:00 am and 6:00am. I don't expect silence in a dormitory, but it's a major flaw that is a huge oversight/problem. Unless you're passed out or a heavy sleeper, there's no way not to have these screeching curtains wake you. Also, the personal lights in the room are super-charged bright florescent, so even the curtains, which are a light fabric, can't really do much to block the light, not nearly as bad as the curtain system, but in a dormitory (with no lockers) little things like sound/light are huge

Worth staying for budget travel!
The price is reasonable in tokyo for a single room. The location is very near train station and there are many bookstores nearby. It is a good place to stay if you want a quiet place. The staff are friendly. I enjoy my stay there.

A promising place let down by the tiny room.
Sometimes a room is just TOO small. If you are staying in Tokyo for more than a couple of nights, I would recommend spending a little extra and getting a bit more space. We literally had to climb over each other to move around the double room. Not enough space for two people with any luggage at all. Over a week it became a real issue, and we did not look forward to going back there after a day of walking around the city, which was a real shame. The bed was not big enough for two of us to sleep in without disturbing each other, and we even took turns sleeping on the floor, as we got more sleep that way! (The helpful staff gave us extra blankets to sleep on the floor). The shared facilities were acceptable, but not great. Also, unfortunately the carpet smelled really bad, and needed to be shampooed. The walk to the nearest big station is about 15 mins, and a bit far with big luggage. I bet there are better options for a similar price...

Good location
I stayed 6 nights in the girl's dormitory at the basement. Enough privacy even for a bunk bed room (but I do suggest the light sleepers bring a pair of ear plugs). I lot of good cafes and restaurants around. Just 15-20 minutes walk to the palace.
