friendly staff, suitable for solo traveler who stay for a while in Tokyo
I stayed there for 2 weeks. The staff really helpful, friendly and able to speak English as well. The breakfast was really good and fresh, even though I only ate bread with jam , soup and tea. However, the location can be reached by Tokyo subway through Jimbocho station, since there is no JR station near the hotel. But the location near many convenience store and also the famous Yoshinoya beef bowl restaurant. Definitely this is one of the recommended places to stay for solo traveler!

Good prices but...
They don't have lockers The hotel was fine, for the prices, but the food is not too good and the staff is friendly but they don't know how to guide the guests if they have an emergency,( they just know about metro station, but google maps too, so it's the same to ask them or google it). One day I had to go to a clinic and they only told me to communicate through a green coin phone, which does not work as it is only for national calls (and they didn't tell me) and only They did me spend 1000 yen on unanswered calls (I found out later that the phone for international calls is a gray one, not the green that they have and say "international calls") . They should be more able to provide help, (for example: medical emergency or calls)because being nice and friendly anyone can, but when you have a problem, they just stand aside and one as a guest has to manage by self.

Affordable stay near Nippon Budokan
+ a walk from Nippon Budokan, super convenient if you're going to a live concert there + near Jimbocho and Kudanshita subway station + free breakfast + 24h reception and cafe + helpful n professional staffs + clean + elevator + space under the beds for suitcase + they sell the subway pass + sofa, table and chairs inside female dorm - some floor doesn't have bidet toilets - bed lamp is too bright - bed curtains a bit noisy - doesn't look new - there's a funny smell in the female dorm (doesn't really bothers me, but maybe bothers some people) - only one power socket for each bed, be sure to bring power strip so you can charge multiple devices at the same time (or buy cheap one at Ameyoko in Ueno or maybe in Don Quixote)

Stinky
We paid extra to book for a city-view room, but got a wall-facing stinky room instead. Another thing about this hotel is that they provide plain white bread so to add-in breakfast as one of their perks, very shady move. Something emergency happened along my trip and I've approached this Taiwanese front desk staff (stating his nationality is only for identification purpose) but he claimed that the hotel couldn't do anything about it and shoved everything to Agoda. That is why I'm here, expressing my utmost gratitude for agoda's staff Lewis that was patient, helpful and understanding. Thank you, will definitely choose Agoda again!

Value for money hotel in a convenient location
Jimbocho might not be the locale of choice for most travelers, but the room was value for money and had sufficient space to accommodate me and my belongings. The neighborhood also had wonderful eateries and conveniently located near two train stations.

Close to Nippon Budokan
Stayed here to be close to Nippon Budokan event (walk 10-15min). Jimbocho station exit A1 is 5min walk. If you have a big/heavy luggage, note that exit A1 has 1 section without escalator. My single room was basic - bed, desk, chair, wall mirror, small TV, hooks on the wall and 2 hangers. Single room comes with a yukata and small face towel that is changed daily. I rented a bath towel from reception. 100yen is per rental. Furnishings are dated but clean. Aircon was good strength. Wifi drops quite often. Toilets were alright. Showers are divided into wet and dry area (hooks and a railing). Basic quality of shower gel and rinse-shampoo (i.e. shampoo and conditioner in one). Didn't experience queuing for toilet, shower or wash basin. Building has only 1 elevator but I didn't experience long waits for it. Breakfast was bread, butter/jams, hot soup and choices of tea and coffee. Eggs cost extra. The breakfast time 4.30-11am was great as I had to leave before 6am once and I awoke late at 10+am another day. Reception staff spoke good English. Besides the various convenience stores and drug stores a few minutes walk away, staff showed these were also within 5-10min walk : Daiso 100yen shop, Don Quijote, a 24hour supermarket, various eateries and good massage (at street junction of Jimbocho A1 exit)
