I chose this hotel because I wanted to try a sakura-style place in Tokyo. I got it on promo so lucky me! This hotel is near Nishi-Nippori Station JR Yamanote Line (NOT Nippori Station). Google maps and waze got me wrong, I alighted at Nippori Station, I ended up walking long with my luggages, super tiring. But thank God for the weather! So there, be guided accordingly. From Nishi-Nippori, turn left at the exit, walk straight and then when you see a lone tree in the stop light turn left. Continue walking, then wen you see a Lawson store, turn left after the store and you’ll Sakura Hotel. It’s a few minutes walk from the station, but if you don’t mind long walk it won’t be a problem. Just prepare your layerings especially in the cold season. Staff are friendly and english-speaking, check-in and check-out was easy breezy. I mean it when I said its a friendly-environment. People are nice, from staff to the guests. I really didn’t mind that it’s a shared bathroom because it’s well-maintained and clean. Just bring your own slipper and toiletries except for soap and shampoo because it’s already provided in the shower room. Blower is also provided, because in autumn and winter seasons, you don’t want to go outdoors with your wet hair on, its extra colder!

Simple but efficient”
We stayed 2 weeks in Japan, the last 5 nights we based ourselves out of Sakura Hotel Nippori. The location is great, quieter neighborhood, 10 minute walk from JR Nippori station & 5 minutes from Tokyo Metro Sendagi station (Chiyoda Line). Near a small shopping district that is lively during the day with a 24h Lawson right around the corner. The environment of the hotel is lively with common toilets and showers, and a 24h Cafe downstairs. The cafe offers a simple breakfast for 390JPY (coffee, tea, toast, soup), but I would recommend walking down to Matsuya (6 minute walk, open 24h) and grab breakfast there for 490JPY (fish, rice, small side, soup, nori, tea). During our stay there were some rowdier groups, so the hotel itself felt more like a hostel, but the accommodations were private (Japanese style room) and people were mostly respectful of quiet hours, so I can't complain for the price. Overall: safe, clean, good location, good value, would stay again :]
We appreciate your recent stay at Sakura Hotel Nippori and taking your time to write your comment for your experience here. Very glad to know that you had a enjoyable time during your stay with us. Look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in the near future.
Super Duper Helpful Staff”
Super convenient for traveller as the hotel is located near to both metro (Sendagi station, 5 mins walk) and JR train station (Nishi-Nippori, 10 mins walk). But the thing that impressed me the most is how helpful the staff is. On our last day, we asked the nice lady at the reception hotel to call us a taxi to the airport and unfortunately, my sister accidentally left her phone in the taxi. We were feeling very helpless as we do not know what to do and who to contact. So we contacted Sakura Hotel Nippori and they contacted the taxi company and track back the taxi that we were on. They even voluntarily searched our room even though we did not ask them to do that for us. And when the taxi driver found the phone and send it back to the hotel, they kept the phone safely for a while and send it to us all the way to Malaysia! From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much Sakura Hotel Nippori for the help. Would definitely recommend this and visit again in future <3
Dear Ms. Sofiah Thank you very much for your review. We all are glad that your phone finally could come back to your hand. Also, we are so happy if we could be helpful for you so that you could stay in Japan comfortably. We all are looking forward to seeing you again. Truly yours, Sakura Hotel Nippori
Very friendly staff. Great Location!”
The staff are super friendly and pretty good in English so communication is not a problem. Everything is pretty much set up efficiently so not much issues during our stay. Sakura Hotel Nippori is also very near Nippori Station where you can board JR Yamanote Line which passes thru major tourist destinations in Tokyo and the Kesei Skyliner which brings you to/from Narita. Best of all, it is super near Yanaka Ginza and Sunset Stairs so you have good food and great bargains every night!
we spent 2 nights here with 10 and 15 years old children. we have 1 room of 3 adults and 1 child. it is enough for 4 of us. room is very small, but worth for the price. room is not really smelly, but we smell something. the station is very close to the hotel. sendagi and nippori station. we always use sendagi station. nippori station is quite big and we use it when we need to go to Haneda. this nippori station can get acces from narita and haneda as well using tokyo monorail or yamanote line (to/from haneda) and skyliners (to/from narita). in the afternoon, you can just walk to yanaka ginza and buy some food. there is one big medicine store...but you need to translate it uaing google translate since every boxes use japanese hanzi. the staff is really helpful. after check out, we can drop our luggage until afternoon before we went to haneda and they allowed us to took bath (even give us 4 towels- free). they have laundry service outside of the hotel. washing for 40yen and drying 100yen). free towel and its replacement. 24 hours cafe.
Perfect accommodation, centrally located, quiet & friendly staff”
Sakura Hotel was fantastic. Close to Sendagi station & nishi-nippori station (both within about 5 mins walk), easy walking distance to Ueno. The accommodation was fantastic, modest & simple Japanese style rooms, bathrooms are clean & all staff are very courteous, friendly & helpful. The neighbourhood has a bunch of little bars/eateries/cafes & stores, but is very quiet. All round 10/10, would recommend to anyone & everyone.
Dear Mr. Tim, Thank you for staying with us at Sakura Hotel Nippori and writing us a detailed review! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at our hotel and our staff treated you nicely! Please come back and visit us again soon. Best regards, Sakura Hotel Nippori Grant
Slept in a Tatami Room”
First time staying at this hotel and this style of room. Tatami is a special type of Japanese flooring, and I stayed in one of this rooms with Japanese blankets on the floor. As I was using a JR Pass for tourists, the closest station to the hotel was Nippori station of the Yamanote Line. The hotel itself is around 10 mins walk away from the west exit of the station, and I would suggest travelers to navigate using Google Maps the first time they are walking there. The room itself has a pretty spacious tatami area, but the baggage space available was quite crammed as I had quite a big luggage. 2 small pillows and a foldable table are available inside the room for those who wish to sit and chat in their own rooms or do some writing. Wifi is available, but there is no television in the room. No complains about the air-conditioning, and sleeping in the blankets on the comfortable flooring was actually not bad at all - I had a good night's rest. It was my first time living with shared bathrooms, and Sakura Hotel offered a great experience. The toilets are located separately from the sinks and the bathrooms, and both areas are very clean. The bathrooms, in particular, were larger than I previously imagined, and most travelers who are less fussy should be very satisfied with it. Hotel staff are very helpful and able to speak english. Breakfast is available at the cafeteria located at the first floor, but the selection is pretty poor. Coffee and miso soup are available, and toasted bread with jam is the only non-liquid item that is available for free. There are other better items on the menu, but they would cost you some yen. There is a high chance that other hotels within this price range might offer a better quality buffet breakfast. That being said, one good thing is that there are affordable restaurants in the vicinity (10-50m walk) nearby should you choose to have your breakfast outside of the hotel. This hotel would be among my considerations th
Thank you for choosing Sakura Hotel Nippori on your previous stay. Very glad to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are making improvements with our Breakfast and we appreciate your feedback on this areas. We look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in the near future.
UNO Team APS Japan Getaway!”
we were satisfied with sakura hotel nippori, all their staff are very accommodating and nice to chat with.. especially Lim, the singaporean guy that always smiling.. he is very approachable and fun to chat with.. especially about the places in japan.. the room is clean, the shower rooms and the toilets.. the only disadvantage that we encounter is it is far from the airport..
Dear Argine Thank you so much for staying with us. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and we definitely miss all your laughter. We are looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo again. Happy new year!
One of the best hotels I've ever visited (for non-business trip). I was impressed by friendly and helpful staff. The location is great, 5-minute walk to JR Nippori station. The area is supper convenient yet peaceful. I'll definitely stay at Sakura hotel again in my next trip to Tokyo.
Comfortable stay during the winter season”
Traveled with 2 senior citizens We stayed in Sakura after spending the weekend at Fujikawaguchiko. The staff including the supervisor were very nice to all the guests. The hotel is situated within 13mins walk from NishiNippori Sta and 15mins from Nippori Sta. The location is best if you want to be near the line that connects you directly to Narita Airport. Simple breakfast was served- bread and butter/ jam plus tea/coffee and soup. The futon beds were really comfortable. More power, Sakura!
Dear Nicole, Thank you very much for staying with us and your review! We are very happy that you seem to have enjoyed staying in Nippori area. As you said, Nippori is interesting place for both living and discovering. There are many shops and cafes being built now, so quite hard to catch up all. Please let us introduce those new comers if you have next chance to Japan. Until then we wish you much fortune and well being. And thank you again for finding our futon beds comfortable! Best regards, Daisuke Sakura Hotel Nippori
Very nice and helping staff. We booked Japanese room for two people. They have common bathrooms and washrooms. which are very clean. The hotel is located near Nippori station. You can get to Nippori station directly from Narita airport by Keisei main line or Skyline. Take West exit and turn left. Walk for 5 minutes and you will find steps to go downside. Take these steps and then walk straight through the market. At the other end of the market, take right, walk for 100 m and then first left and you will see Nippori hotel on your right. Very comfortable stay. For more detailed review, you can watch video on my YouTube channel "Explore with DD".
Thank you for your commentary and stayed with us. We are next to Nippori as you said with the famous market street Yanaka Ginza. Thank you for the details how to reach our hotel. Hope see you again in Japan. Didier
Could be more choose on breakfast. ”
We stay 9 nights with sakura hotel nippori. It’s quite a fresh thing to us to sleep on tatami and sharing bathroom with other guest. Sound insulation not really well( I can heard someone downstrair/ out of our room voice clearly. ) Thanks a lot for great service provide by sakuta hotel nippori’s staff.
The place is very near to the jr stations and the direct rail going to the airport, the staff are very kind and helpful specially Ms. Imee, all in all we realy ahd a great stay, but it was suddenly shorten we panic because of the typhoon (Hagibis) but all in all out of 10 i give them 11, Thank you Agod And all the staffs of Sakura Hotel Nippori
The hotel was relatively near to 3 stations; Sendagi Station (subway) approx. 300m ; Nishi-nippori Station, (JR station) approx. 700 m, and Nippori Station(JR station) 700 m, 10 mins by foot, which is also passed by a Skyliner train to Narita Airport. We often get off at Nippori Station because it is more convenient to ride the train from there as it has Yamanote Line which is a train that covers the main areas of tokyo. The hotel is also very very close to Lawson, which is only 1 - 2 mins by foot. The staff were very friendly. They have infused water, hot water, and microwave in the lobby. We can keep our luggage in the hotel after and before check out/check in. The room we booked was a japanese-styled, with tatami and futon. The futon was very thin and hard, though they have some spare blankets we can use, but it doesnt really make a difference. The bathroom was shared, but it was very clean and very convenient to use. Overall it was a very pleasant stay!
Dear Haura, Thank you for staying with us and your review! We are very happy that you have enjoyed both our hotel and Tokyo. In the coming years, Tokyo especially our Nippori area will be growing and a lot is expected to change drastically as we have the Olympic game in 2020. If you have a chance to visit Japan in future, please allow us to serve you again. We would like to share practical tips for everything about Japan (culture, cuisine, etc) Until then we wish you much happiness and your well being. Best wishes, Daisuke Sakura Hotel Nippori
Budget, Tatami, Friendly staff”
Location: It's about 10 minutes from Nippori or Nishi-Nippori stations. The view is more scenic from Nippori station though as you will be passing Yanaka Ginza. If you mind the walk, what we did was to take the bus in front of Lawson to Matsuzakaya in Ueno, and take the JR there in Okachimachi, and vice versa when returning. It's a bit more expensive and maybe slightly consumes a bit more time, but it's not as tiring. Sendagi is the closest station, but isn't very convenient when you need to use the JR. Wifi: Wifi is decent. They have multiple connections on each floor, so if one is slow you can just look for the next one. Signal is better in the cafe downstairs though. Wasn't bothered too much by it as we had rented a pocket router for the trip, but the wifi was very helpful when one of us had to go out and another had to stay in.
Great hospitality and convenient location”
Wonderful stay at Hotel Sakura Nippori. The staff were great and friendly and provided lots of advice and help. Would definitely go back if I return to Tokyo in the future. Highly recommended. Great value for money.
Dear Chow Thank you very much for leaving us such a wonderful feedback! Did you enjoy your stay in Tokyo? and return home without mishaps? If so, we would be happy. As you might have noticed, Nippori is quite good place to stay, striking the center of Tokyo, but peaceful and in a friendly atmosphere with locals. If you have another chance, please choose this town again. We would willingly tell you a bit more genuine feature of the town. Thanks again, please take care of your self. Yours, Daisuke
The Good: Quiet neighborhood with a playground across the street which children can enjoy. Hotel is clean. Shared toilet and shower rooms are always clean. Really nice Japanese style room experience. Staff are nice and willing to help with all my questions. Near Nippori Station and Sendagi Station Near convenience stores and grocery stores. Very near Yanaka Ginza, where you can buy affordable food choices and souvenirs. Breakfast offered is just toast, coffee and soup. Very simple but filling. Wheelchair accessible. The Bad: Not very near the train stations. Around 10-15 mins walk. But if you are fond of walking like me, it would be fine. But the long walk is not fun when you have heavy luggages with you as you will encounter stairs and/or uphill road to the Nippori Station. Japanese style futons are not very handicapped elderly friendly. Shower rooms are not wheelchair friendly. Should have wider space. Had a hard time with bath time for my aunt who is elderly and handicapped.
Great Hotel Near Train to Narita Airport”
Its easy to find the hotel, you just have to go out at west or north exit at Nippori Station turn left and walk straight you will pass by at yakiniku ginza where you have to had small shopping and food. Staff are great especially ayumi and daisuke,,you can leave your luggage prior or after check in and thats a plus to us. Its a self service hotel even your breakfast with coffee, soup and slice of bread with different jams. Its easy to go to different place from this hotel since its within the yamanote line in nippori station and metro in sendagi station. They have common shower and toilet but its very clean. You got to shower at the same time with different shower room so you wont have the hassle of waiting for others to finish so you wont be late in strolling around and no need to wake up early than the other To catch up in the shower. Stay here its great
It's just a bit of a walk from the JR Nippori station, but you have the option to take the bus opposite of Ueno-Matsuzakaya, or a short walk from Sendagi subway station. I like that the place is clean and the communal showers and toilets are enough for the people who stay there. Will consider this again for our next trips to Tokyo.
Great value hostel in nippori/Japan”
I forgot to book hotel in 22 feb but I found Sakura Hotel Nippori in best value filter in agoda and I read reviewed from many customer are good so I booked :) very good staff more Japan information I get from them and little trick to use wash machine. 5 minute from Nishin nippori station (JR) and 3 minute from Tokyo subway breakfast 390 yen they have unlimit coffee / bread / daily soup yes just 390 yen don't think about breakfast everyday just order and go to travel. see you soon.
