It is most convenient to take the Skyliner from Narita Airport to Nippori Station! It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Nippori Station and 5-10 minutes to Senzaki Station. There is a small market and a mart nearby, and there are also many shops. There are also Lawson, Seven Eleven, and Family Mart within a 10-minute walk. The hotel staff are fluent in English and very friendly! You can drink water from the water purifier on the 1st floor restaurant, and you can also have a simple breakfast. You can also bring your own food to the restaurant. There are vending machines and a laundry room right next to the hotel. Disposable slippers and toothbrushes are provided, and towels are provided one per person at check-in. If you need more, you can take them from the counter or ask the staff. I stayed in a 3-person room on the 1st floor (bunk bed + single bed). There is a shared washroom + shower room with a separate toilet. The shower booths are individual (total of 3), so it was convenient and I didn't feel much inconvenience because I didn't meet other guests. The room has extra blankets and a place to hang clothes, a sitting desk, a high desk, and a trash can. The trash can is emptied every morning. There is also enough space to unfold the suitcase. There is no separate shoe rack and the entrance is not separated, so you have to store your shoes in a corner of the space. I was worried that the noise from the 2nd floor bed might be annoying, but there was almost no noise, and the bed had a makeshift light and USB port, which was convenient. However, the only downside is that it is really really dry... Even when I hung wet towels, they dried quickly, and personally, it was so dry that my skin felt itchy...ㅜㅜ I recommend bringing a portable humidifier. Apart from this downside, the hotel was clean and nice, and even though I am sensitive to smells, it was okay. If I come to Tokyo again, I would like to stay at this hotel again!

However, if you have a large suitcase and need to walk to JR, it can be a bit tiring. You can store your luggage when you go to Tokyo. I like the atmosphere of the accommodation and the people here. There is a restaurant downstairs and there are several convenient stores nearby. It's not too crowded.

A 3-minute walk to Sendagi Station, and about 10 mins to Nippori Station. Near bike and Luup rentals too. You don't have to take the train to enjoy Tokyo when you stay at Sakura Hotel Nippori--it's surrounded by lots of shops and places to explore--museums, hand puppet shows, exhibits, etc. Yet, it never feels crowded or noisy. In July when it's supposed to be hot and humid, the weather was pleasantly cool and we did not mind the occasional rainy days at all--it just made it all the more enjoyable to sit outside the Sakura Cafe and enjoy their coffee and food. (there are many options). We spent 2 days just contentedly walking and biking around the area. I also love that the hotel gets you ready to set out with a light but satisfying breakfast buffet of coffee, tea, butter and marmalade on toast, and soup--more than enough to tide you over through a morning of walking and exploring until lunchtime. The rooms are spartan--we stayed in a double room that was spacious enough for a 3rd futon. There is no table to place your stuff on, so I guess that's that the extra floor space is for. Trash bins get cleaned out every day. On the 3rd morning, they cleaned our room and replaced the towels without being asked. Love those towels, by the way--they are light yet satisfyingly absorbent. The staff members are very helpful, as expected, except for the older guy who was rough and disrespectful to my husband when he borrowed a weighing scale. My husband is always very polite to staff, and the said staff member was very nice to the Caucasian person he was assisting before my husband. But when it was my husband's turn, he was rough, and even called out to my husband who was already walking away with the weighing scale "MAKE SURE TO RETURN!" When my husband looked back at him with an inquiring look (he wanted to make sure he heard right), the older guy impatiently said and motioned to him, "Make sure to return that here!" We don't get the attitude--we did not give them a single problem nor compalined about anything in all of our 7-night stay. I guess he likes white people more than Asians/Filipinos. All in all, would still recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Great value, just don't have high expectations”
The double bunk bed is VERY comfortable and fits a 6ft 1in person perfectly. However, we stayed in a triple room and the third sofa-bed was lumpy and not very comfortable. We took turns sleeping on it for 7 nights and survived without injury, so it's not the worst in the world. Certainly fine if you're younger. Breakfast was nothing great, bread was not tasty (surprisingly for Japan) and the coffee was eh. But it was free and open till 11AM so no complaints whatsoever. Bathrooms would get a bit worn every night but were cleaned thoroughly every morning. You can also use any shower/toilet across five floors, which means you'll always find a good one. Hotel location is great too, only a couple stops away from Akihabara and buses to other tourist places like Asakusa are right outside. But do be warned that getting to the Nippori station for the Narita skyliner requires a LOT of uphill walking. Only doable with luggage if you're fit.
