They were nice with me”
I was there for 4 nights during the golden week. I'm quite claustrophobic so I couldn't stay in the room more than 1 night. The room is a rectangle where the bed is the size of the lenght. You can hardly drop your luggages in the entry. Despite that the staff was really helpfull with me to find another hotel, they have a good breakfast too. Don't go here if you like space....
Good option for budget travel”
Comparing to dorm, this hotel is more prefferable for couple. The room is small but clean. Good for onsen experience. The location is also good, 7mins walk from station
Very nice & comfortable medium price hostel”
Though the room is very small, they have a spectacular public bath I must say ! They provide bathsuit and bag to carrry your stuff when going to the public bath which are all very nice items. They even have free water in front of the public bath area for guests. The lobby & pantry look very nice. It will take you around 10 - 15mins to walk to Kyoto station but it's ok.
Fantastic fancy lounge!”
We loved staying there! The breakfast was tasty, and they have unlimited free tea and coffee stations with many delicious flavors. The staff was nice and helpful. The only thing - after we fully paid Agoda booking they asked us to pay additional tourist fees, around 200 Yen per person per night, which is quite a lot and was unexpected. I would suggest the hotel to include this fee to the total price, otherwise, we felt a bit fooled.
Perfect Location ”
The hotel is located right next to the underground train station and only 5 mins walk to the JR Kyoto station. It’s perfect for travelling around Kyoto.
Exceptional service quality as one would expect in Japan ”
Great choice for budget conscious travelers. Less than 10 minutes walk from Kyoto station. Facilities are spotless, quiet and comfortable. Staff are extremely courteous. Nice lounge in the lobby makes up for the lack of space in guest rooms. Complimentary coffee and tea provide refreshing experience after a long day visit to Kyoto City.
Lost and not found ”
I left my JR train pass in the room.. back to pick up but missing. One of the receptionist was quite helpful to check even went up to my room. But it’s gone. Want to Report to police but was rushing .. in the end give up..
Excellent location, only 6-7 minutes from Kyoto Station. Very clean and cozy room with a sink. The common area was also cool. The downside is that there were only 4 shared shower room, which can be crowded in the morning, but it was compensated by the indoor onsen! The room was a bit small but you can't complain much since it's Japan. We loved this place so much that we're writing reviews for our facebook page and instagram. Highly recommended!
A Hidden Gem!”
Very neat place to stay! It has a well-themed coffee & eatery inside where people staying can socialise and enjoy complimentary coffee. Although guests don’t have individual bathrooms to themselves, the stylish shared bathroom certainly makes up for it! The place is well equipped with facilities, including free usage of washing machines and dryers.
Cozy and clean hotel”
It was very comfortable when staying at the hotel. It was clean and neat and had sufficient facilities which met our need. You can also use the washing machine for free of charge. The hotel is just less than 10 minutes walk from the Kyoto station.
Tiny Hotel with Great Facilities”
The hotel room is really tiny but clean and functional. The hotel is also conveniently located abt 10 mins walk from Kyoto station, which is a major transportation hub. Best part of the hotel is the shared bathroom, which includes an onsen that provides a great respite after a tiring day of travel. Will recommend to friends and family
though it is a lower class of Sakura Terrace Company, it does everything above the average! first, price is reasonable, we only paid hkd 4xx per night. second, new property with modern design and clean interior. plus, room and bed is spacious when you compare with other similar hotels or capsules. fianlly, public bath and toilet was so clean that make you feel like at home. must reserve again next time in Kyoto! PS. breakfast was yummy too!
Loved everything about this hostel, it's so chic, clean and wonderful, I'm usually quite a light sleeper but I had 3 great night sleeps here :) It's totally free if you want to do your laundry, both washer and dryer are free of charge. Breakfast cost 800 yen every morning if you wish to eat in, it's in a semi-buffet style where you could choose 1 main and enjoy salad, yogurt, and few side dishes from the mini buffet. The public bath is great, the only smallest flaw I would say about this hostel is there are only 2 toilets on each floor (for girls, not sure if it's the same in male toilet), you might have to wait a little in the morning especially during weekend stay (weekday seems to be more quiet, I never ran into other guests in the morning) but if you really can't stand the wait, going down to the first floor is not a biggie anyway :) Overall super satisfied with my stay and would definitely recommend this hostel to budget travelers.
Small, impolite yet experienceable”
The way the staff to tell us "not to" is not polite. Were sorry were just a tourist. The room is so small, not much space to walk about. The plus one, i enjoyed the public bathroom because its not common..
Great Location, Great Accomodation ”
Really enjoyed our stay at the Sakura Terrace The Atelier. The place was super clean from the lobby once you walk in, to the rooms we stayed in. Though the rooms were small for 2 people and the bathrooms/Showers were shared between everyone this wasn't a problem. However only one towel was provided for the entire stay with additional towels costing extra. The feel of the place is a mix between a hostel and a hotel with a common lobby they expect you to spend most of your time with others and your cozy room for you to rest. Location was super convenient - Only a three minute walk from Kyoto Station and a 7/11 and Lawson within walking distance. Staff were super friendly and willing to help no matter the circumstances. They even offered us umbrellas when it was raining outside. Highly Recommend Sakura Terrace The Atelier and would definitely come back if coming to Kyoto.
Staff was not Friendly”
Stayed there for 3 nights and the staff only gave 1 towel to use for 3 nights - asked to pay for extra towel. Pricing in Agoda stated as inclusive of tax but asked for additional tax during the stay (reason: local Kyoto tax). Staffs are not friendly at all. The floor inside the room is sticky. Not satisfied at all.
Full convenience and clean
Modern and clean”
Great location as it is near Kyoto station. The room was clean as well. The public bath took me by surprise, that goes to say that you have to undress in public before entering your shower booth. Apart from that, it is a good hotel.
Fantastic find! ”
Great if you can get a deal on this place! Super location, welcoming staff, fantastic lounge space with complimentary luxury teas and ground coffee and laundry. Highly recommend. We booked three nights and extended to six. We would have stayed longer!
Super stay! This is a great find. ”
Stay here! We were looking for somewhere to stay for quite some time and then happened upon this place, thank goodness. It is just south of Kyoto station and situated in a quiet backstreet. Very convenient even when you have bulky luggage as we did and about a ten minute walk from the train station. Feels a very safe area too. The accommodation itself is welcoming, comfortable and relaxed. Free luxury teas and coffee (which you can grind yourself). Free laundry. There is also a hot 'onsen' type bath and robes which you can use which proved a welcome treat at the end of a day's walking. The lounge space is really fantastic with a relaxing ambience throughout the whole day and a music hour in the evening. You can bring your own food/drink into the hotel. There is a microwave you can use and plates/cutlery etc. This was a perfect stay for us, so much so, we extended our stay from 3 to 6 nights and tried to extend it even further, but alas there was no availability. Highly recommended.
