They also have free welcome drinks with good plum wine for every night you stay with them. The rooms are huge and are cleaned everyday. Very sincere and heart warming staff.

Great Hotel, Good Location”
Hotel is nice with a big room, clean and neat. The property is also still quite new and well manage. The location is just right next to a exit of Kujo Station (subway) from Kyoto Station. Breakfast is good and they serve welcome drinks every night for the guest room. It was my 3rd time come back to Sakura TerraceKyoto.

the shower curtain is super duper stinky! which makes the whole bathroom smells really unpleasant.

Good location, quiet and stylish-- nice adult hote”
I very much enjoyed staying in Sakura Terrace. You might have better location if you book hotels in front of Kyoto Station's main gate. Kujo, the street this hotel is located on, is 6-7 min walk away from the other side of the Kyoto station. And this side is rather quiet and there are not many shopping/ restaurent opportunities. However, I was using the Kujo station and bus stations around this hotel and it was perfect. There is no information on this, but they actually have bus passes one-day transportation passes at front desk. You can just buy these passes from there without having to deal with the crowded Kyoto station. I really hope the hotel keeps the current adult-centered atmosphere. All the guests were very quiet and well mannered-- mostly single or two people group; adult and senior citizens; Japanese and Foreigner. No crying babies and running around children (I am sorry to say this to families but I really needed some rest). Rooms and bathrooms are spacious for the price, and very clean. Nice water pressure in the shower. Internet speed is satisfying but there is no business center. One inconvenience: If you are using a laptop and coming from overseas, please have in mind that Japan uses 120 v, and there is no three-hole outlet in the guest room (in other words, there is no "ground" hole). I had some troubles, but the front desk staff was very helpful and let my laptop charged in their staff room. Breakfast is very expensive (1500yen) but definitely a quality meal. There are not that many varieties but every item is tasty and carefully prepared. I had two breakfasts there and do not regret. Again, it is very enjoyable to have yummy breakfast in the airy and quiet dining hall.

Comfortable hotel in a convenient location.”
We stayed at the Sakura Terrace Hotel in Kyoto during the busy last week of November 2013. We paid US$160 per night, without breakfast, but it should be about half that during off-peak periods. The hotel opened in October 2013. It is conveniently located one subway stop south of Kyoto station, with the Kujo station exit right in front of the hotel entrance. Alternatively, it is a six minute walk from the east exit of Kyoto station. The room is 18 sq metres, and has a decently sized attached bathroom/toilet. Comfortable bed and strong flow of hot water in the bathroom. Free wifi, fridge and hot water boiler in the room. Our room was just next to the lift, but there was no noise. Split unit aircon for cooling or heating, but, unfortunately, very limited English language TV. Free washing machine and dryer located on the 4th Floor. Bar and breakfast room on the ground floor. Pleasant English speaking staff at reception. Only smoking room was available at time of booking, but the reception staff managed to switch it to a non-smoking room. Overall, I would rate the hotel as a 4-star, even though it does not have any restaurant or room service within the hotel. (Visitors have lots of food options at the restaurants nearby the hotel or at Kyoto station.) We will definitely stay there again when we are next in Kyoto.

Amazing”
Sakura Terrace was really nice, I stayed there for 6 nights! I enjoyed the close proximity to Kyoto station (5 minutes walk) and other major shopping areas(Aeon mall about 8 minutes to the north west). Moreover, the hotel offers large hot bath with sauna. Based on my experience, not many people use the public bath, it could be that visitors are not comfortable with getting completely naked in order to use the bath. The hotel itself also offers one free drink per night. The setting in the bar is really cool and the outdoor patio looks even nicer in the evening. The staff was very helpful and the hotel looks very new and clean. You can check out using their ATM lookalike machine, just insert your card and off you go. Overall, it was probably the nicest hotel I stayed at, even though it was a rated a 3-star hotel (during the two weeks in Japan, I stayed in a lot of 4/5 star hotels, Sakura is much smaller and less grandeur/regal looking. But in terms of bang for your buck, it is the on par with the 4/5 star hotels and if not better). I would totally go there again if I visit Kyoto again!

Value for money”
Sakura Terrace is the best hotel in this trip after comparing to other hotels we stayed in Tokyo, Osaka and Hiroshima. The hotel charged a reasonable room rate. The room is clean and spacious considering Japanese standard. Bathing facilities in the room are good. The hotel provides 3 washing machines and 3 dryers for free use!! Even the washing detergent is provided for free! The receptionists can speak English and are helpful. The hotel is about 12 minutes walk from Kyoto station but can choose to take 1 train stop to reach the hotel. The bus stop is just a short walk away that go to places of interest. What is most attractive about this hotel is the daily free night welcoming drink and the public bath facility. I strongly recommend Sakura Terrace.

cozy hotel”
I had a great stay at Sakura Terrace hotel. It's at the great location, there is a bus station right in front of the hotel and a subway station just across the street, most important is about 5 mins to walk to Kyoto station. Easily to get to the places want to go. They had the best breakfast when I'm traveled in Japan and the friendly service team to solve my traveling questions. If I travel again in Kyoto, Sakura Terrace will be my first option for sure.

Great location and lovely hotel”
Sakura terrace is well located right near Kyoto station. The hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are fairly big (especially for Japan standards). The staff were very helpful with everything regarding touring around Kyoto and the welcome drinks each evening and free coffee and tea during the day were great. Would recommend Sakura terrace for anyone staying in Kyoto.

Comfortable Spacious Room”
Located just outside subway exit. Pleasant stay at Sakura Terrace. Front desk staff was prompt during check in process and allow early check in although check in time officially is 3pm. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom amenities were provided and they use Shiseido hair care and body care range! Internet was good. There is a public bath downstair that you can go for a hot soak especially after a long day of walking in Kyoto. There is no mini mart or a convenient store nearby so if you are the type that gets hungry in the night I would advise you to buy some food or snacks from Kyoto main station before heading back to Sakura Terrace.

Delivered more than we expected!”
Used Sakura Terrace as our base for 5 days exploring in and around Kyoto, and couldn't have been more satisfied with our choice. Had a double "corner" room, which gave us more space than had been our experience elsewhere in Japan. Complimentary "welcome" drink every evening, access to the hotel's own Japanese baths, plus clear instructions (in English) on etiquette. Staff very helpful, tips on getting around (use the "loop" bus routes to get north of the station rather than travelling through the station area. Plus easy access to the station (especially the Shinkansen lines, which are on the south side of the station). From check-in to check-out (electronic), nothing could have been easier.

Great Hotel for a Decent Price”
I was very impressed with this hotel. It's near Kyoto Station being just a few minutes walk away. Most hotels in Kyoto are very expensive, but for the price this hotel was very high quality. I extended my stay here multiple times as there was so much to see in Kyoto and I was happy at Sakura Terrace.

Great Value for Money in Kyoto”
I was very impressed by Sakura Terrace and enjoyed Kyoto so much that I extended my stay. This is a 5 minute walk from Kyoto Station, right by a subway station, and is an excellent hotel. Some of the larger rooms I saw in Japan for this price range and very well designed.

Worth it!”
We've enjoyed our stay at Sakura. It's right at the bus stop (just across the street) going to different tourist attractions (it's one of bus stop - oishi bashi if I'm not mistaken). 15minute walk and 1 metro stop from kyoto station. The hotel is located right beside the metro exit (forgot the exit though). Convenience store and restaurants are 'round about the corner. Staffs were nice and friendly. Speaks good english and would even give you tips and a map how to go around Kyoto which was very helpful. Overall, we have enjoyed our stay at Sakura and would love to be back.

Great hotel in Kyoto”
On our recent family trip, we stayed here for 3 days. The train station was about a 5 min walk away. Far enough away from the noise and bother. Close enough for us to get going each day. The rooms were roomy by Japanese standards with a new bathroom set up. (Heated mirrors to stop fogging!) Finally, the staff was very helpful when answering all our questions. I would stay at Sakura Terrace again if business or tourism took me back to Kyoto.
