Breakfast sucked, room was nothing special paying only for the view pretty much wouldn’t go back
Superb! I want to stay there again.”
This hotel is wonderful! The room was beautifully decorated and spotless. The staff members are all friendly and helpful. The view is INCREDIBLE. Truly without comparison; you will be blown away, especially at night. The location is great if you want to see all the famous temples and tourist spots. There are many cute cafes nearby, for example, Elefin coffee. The flower market nearby is very fun to explore. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Breakfast is also delicious. You can order from a hot foods menu and there is also a continental buffet. Can't wait to stay here again!
A nice place with a great view. ”
It's right in front of the famous Wat Pho. Has a nice bar at the top with a great view, where you should come for a drink at the night. It's a shame that they don't have a swimming pool. The food was good (though it's not very Thai)
The View is perfect”
Our room has such an exquisite view of Wat Arun. No hotel car park. You have to park at Wat Pho with charge. The surrounding area is wholesaler business area. Not quite nice to walk into the hotel. However, that is acceptable as this is among a few place you can get this view. The bathroom is smelly but after the maid brought us fragrance oil. It is bearable. The smell is the issue here.
A room with a view”
If you are going to this hotel make sure you book a room facing the river. The view of Wat Arun made the night. The hotel is quite difficult to find so if taking a taxi from the airport it's worth ringing up and getting them to explain to the driver. Certain not a 5 star hotel but it's a small hotel with beautiful rooms and as mention before the view of Wat Arun made it. The service in the restaurant is not great and maybe this is something the hotel should look at. However, we were made to feel welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful. Certainly would stay again and would recommend for couples. Probably not best suited to young teens or people who need a lift to go upstairs.
Stunning views and great central location ”
Views from river rooms across to Wat Arun can’t be beat. Lovely falling asleep with the temple peaking through the windows. Location is perfect for quick access to Wat Phra temple and walking to nearby Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Busdha (Wat Pha Kaew). Don’t miss the serene Wat Ratchapradit temple (tiled temple) behind the Grand Palace!
Great location short walk to Grand Palace, Wat Pho (Reclining Budha), and Tha Tien pier for boat across to Wat Arun. Our room was at the back of the hotel with a very comfortable bed and good aircon and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. We had a fabulous morning view of Wat Arun at breakfast dining outdoor area, and at nightime from the roof bar terrace. Lots of little cafes and places to eat nearby too. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Beautiful view if Wat Arun trumps everything ”
A beautifully decorated intimate room with a balcony and views of the Temple of Dawnade waking up and going to sleep really wonderful. The restaurant had a fantastic range of food for breakfast and I opted for the Thai. breakfast which was more like a brunch. The staff were lovely and turned over rooms every day. The walls are a little thin and there is some footfall to the Eagle Nest bar at the top of the building at night. However the location was brilliant and we were able to take a ferry to Wat Arun for 4 Bt, walk to Wat Phi and get a massage for 580 Bt plus 200 Bt entrance fee. This was the best massage of the trip, so much so we squeezed in another one before our flight home!
Friendly service, fantastic view of Arun temple from bedroom and roof bar”
Great food, nice service, love everything
So nice to use the river as a means of transportation and avoid the chaos of driving. Super convenient location. Super helpful staff, Nu was more than happy to make recommendations and help with planning. Any of their properties would be lovely to stay at and all have the same artsy vibe. Dinner in the downstairs restaurant was fantastic.
Incredible location and view”
We had a great stay at Sala Arun in the deluxe river view room. The location cannot be beaten right next to Grand Palace and many temples and the view from the room was unbelievable. The food is also excellent: we had a delicious lunch on the deck. The hotel and rooms could definitely be updated as they are a bit outdated - for instance there is a huge curtain over the big window covering most of the view unless you're in the balcony! We were also told that staff would be manning the desk until midnight but when we got back around 10pm the only person there did not speak a word of english and was not able to book a cab for us the next day which was frustrating. Finally it would be good to have some parts of the roof deck reserved for people staying at the hotel as we weren't able to get a seat in the evening - and the roof deck was part of the reason I booked! Otherwise a great stay and would go back.
We stay 3 days and 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel front desk was very helpful and the hotel room is huge and very relaxing.... Location is near wat pho, wat arun and the great palace... I will definitely come back this October ....
I was beyond thrilled with the view of Wat Arun directly opposite my balcony, and as the evening came on, and it became lit, I almost couldn’t take my eyes off of it! I have never in my life had such a stunning view. The room was beautiful, the staff kindly, and the breakfast was delicious.
Highly recommended for thise who keen on temples, grand palace and all Rattanakosin island high-light. The location is superb. The price is very reasonalbe. Good size of accommodation room. You get the best view from your room. Roof-top cafe is a must for dinner and drink for or after sunset.
Character and atmosphere”
Brilliant rooftop bar with sunset views of the river and temple. Quite noisy until about 1 am on a Thursday (we were just below the bar - the stairs were noticeable). Stunning view from the lovely room but one of two very loud boat engines go by. Shower was a bit hot and cold. Great view for breakfast too. Staff were really nice. Didn’t stay for long but it seems like there’s plenty to do and see nearby.
We stayed in sala arun for 3 days 2 nights and there's the 3 of us. My brother has to take the long couch, the couch was actually spacious and comfy so it didnt bother him at all. The room was big as well as the bed. It's definitely clean, and the bathroom was likewise big and neat. We got the deluxe room with river view and it was worth every penny. To be honest it is actually cheap for how the room and the view looks like. My only comehow negative comment is that, their 2 restaurants are very expensive. Maybe they should work on that a bit. But all in all we had a great stay here. Will definitely comeback 😊
You come here for the view of the river, which was amazing, looking across to the temple of the sun, with all the boisterous river traffic. Staff at front desk were fine, food was OK, room was pleasant. Nice experience.
Great Location, Great View”
The Sala Arun is a decent small hotel near the royal palace and right on the Chao Phraya River. It has some river facing rooms and some that don't see the river. There is only one suite and the view from the suite is featured in advertising but the deluxe riverview rooms have smaller decks than that. If you can, ask for a room without an AC unit on the deck as the unit is not likely to be for your suite and it is noisy and pumping heat onto the deck. You cannot turn the unit off so sitting on the deck is not too pleasant. Its not noisy in the room so that's a good thing. Comfortable bed and great views from the riverview rooms.
Breath taking views of Wat Arun”
Stay here was great. The view at night from the rooftop bar is priceless. The girls at the front desk are so sweet and the view from breakfast across the river is amazing as well. This place is unique and located in the heart of the old city.We would stay again.
Only had one night but will stay again. Very courteous staff, comfortable room, great restaurant with lovely view of Temple of Dawn. Also, the Eagle Nest bar has wonderful views of Wot Pho and the King's Palace.
