Good for chill, romantic getaway”
Went with my girlfriend for a long weekend and enjoyed it. The view is great, the staff are very nice and accommodating, and the room was nice. If you have a car the location is fine - secluded, which is nice, but not too far from the main restaurants (~20 minutes) and the national park (~25 minutes to the entrance).
Stunning views. Private pool.”
What’s not to like. We had a private villa with pool. Absolutely stunning. Amazing sun rise from the roof of the villa. Stunning sunset in the opposite direction. There is nothing near to the resort, however, we were there just to relax so this didn’t matter to us. Breakfast was lovely as was the Thai food at dinner. We felt really lucky to be able to stay here.
Very nice private villas”
The private villas are very nice and great sunset. 40 steps to walk up to get to the lobby, staff took our bags in a car to the lobby but not us. Breakfast looks nice but not good taste. Room service food was the same. I would still come again but will take a smaller bag and my own food.
Great location on a hill”
Friendly staff and great 360° views from altitude. Room was a bit like a Bond villain lair with concrete, but I quite liked the quirky modern look. Great bath and shower. Eating was a bit tricky for me as they did not really understand my dietary requirements, despite the Thai language guide I had provided. Dinner seemed quite soy sauce heavy and breakfast proved challenging too. It did not seem like the chef was really following the English descriptions of each item. After such difficulties at dinner I was very surprised to see “gluten free pancakes” on the menu at breakfast, and even more surprised to hear they contained wheat flour. Having eaten plenty of other things, navigating the obviously not gluten-free parts, I was simply confused when said pancakes appeared afterwards at our room! Were they gluten free or not? Only time will tell.…
Absolutely very nice”
Looking for any negative here maybe the bit walk up or bit far away from everything but that does not matter at all as this resort is absolutely a top location staff, room, food all very nice will go back for sure take the room with pool and you will not want to leave.
Stunning view on the hill top. Great design. I little disappoint in cleanliness of the toilet and bath tub. The DVD player doesn't work but the staff brought a new one after trying to open different movies for 30 minutes. Check in is very late while check out on time.
Nice quiet hotel with stunning view”
The hotel is bit far off from other hotels in the area but it's worth driving as the view is spectacular. There are only 7 rooms so the place is not crowded. Staff are polite and attentive. Room is clean and has enough facilities. Though coffee machine doesn't work in our room but you can ask for coffee during breakfast. All in all, a very nice and peaceful place suitable for couples.
It was an awesome stay at Sala Khaoyai, the hotel was quite expensive but the view and room of the hotel make it worthwhile. The room was superbly well-designed and clean which make the whole trip so perfect and with all the staff friendly attitude make our trip even more perfect. The only thing is that it is quite difficult for us to get there, as there are no much road sign leading. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience. Great jobs guys well done.
Romantic and nice rooms”
The resort is very nice and small. The rooms are excellent. The staff performance could have bene better. The room keeping walked in to the room without knocking while we were showering. Shocked us. Never apologised until we complained. Needs retraining!
Great relaxing holiday”
Stayed her with the wife and loved it, the hotel only has a few rooms and is on top of a small hill overlooking Kao Yai national park. Very nice quiet relaxing atmosphere and staff were very pleasant. Kao Yai only a 10 minute drive away and the whole area was very clean and free from litter rubbish which is so common in Thailand. The only negative point was that the breakfast was rather poor. I think some better quality food such as imported bacon etc should be available to match the quality of the hotel. Other than this I would highly recommend Sala and would definitely stay again.
superb view with best food!!”
It was a bit tricky to find the place first but worth it!! Nothing blocked the view so we could enjoy the best 360 degree view ever! And the food was so great, we didn't have to go out to find anything better that here. Also, the staffs were caring, friendly and very polite, we felt very special there. I really enjoyed this trip and wish I have a chance to go back there again.
Wondeful holiday at the top”
The resort is on the top of the mountain which is wonderful. The weather is perfect with the view. The deluxe room is not as big as i expect compare to the money i have paid for. The bathroom is worst. When you take a bath, all the floor is wet which is considered bad for me. The facilities in the resort is nothing really. Just restaraunt and pool. For me this is not worth the money. At lease the resort should provide some more facilities. And the staff and everything is close at 23.00. For me the 5 star resort must do best on their services. But seem they save the money for for themselves but charging as they provide high service which is not.
Amazing room with an unforgettable view”
despite a relatively remote location compared to other hotels within the area, it is very well worth the drive. the hotel offers expansive view, simply gorgeous at sunset and sunrise. the pool villa is exquisite, offering luxury and comfort along with exclusive privacy and an amazing view. the private salt pool with jacuzzi is very enticing and is perfect for a cool dip at sunset. one of the most romantic hotels ever. the staffs are friendly and attentive. all in all, a place to keep in mind for a romantic getaway.
Overall good not great”
It's a place where you will have high expectation for the price you are paying. With high expectation you are set for disappointment. Can't really complain about anything specific here but then again can't really call out anything exceptional either. The best thing here is the room and view(at common area). I think it was a good choice for this trip but I probably won't come here again at the current asking price.
The best stay I ever had! If you're looking for a zen and quaint stay in Khaoyai, this is it. Compliments to all the staff who ensured the stay was memorable and also for making the birthday surprise a success. An awesome resort for couples!
Private suite w/beautiful sunset panorama”
Very private suite in the mountain Abit far from the city but they prepared all stuff you need there There are beautiful panorama sky view for sunset and night time.
very enjoyable stay”
the resort is pretty quiet and serene... lobby was idea to catch sunset and dinner was slightly expensive but we enjoyed the food.
Very nice place
Best Location, worst resort!”
Let me warn you, dont stay here! You will regret it and walk away feeling cheated. The only good thing this place has is the view and a small pool. The food is terrible for dinner, overpriced and then ++ added on op just to insult you more. The free breakfast is terrible. Very cheap ingredient! The room although tries to be fashionable and cool is very cheaply put together and things just break or have stains on them, like the bed head. The toilet had sewerage leak that stunk out the room from side toilet pipe, mosquitos leak into room but bed has a net, the bath is concrete and unusable. No tiles or details and lots of poorly painted black paint in bathroom makes you feel bad. Dirty! Disgusting!!! Restaurant music can be heard in room. I warned you!
Amazing on all levels! (and can't beat the views!)”
Upon our first steps out of the car, we were greeted warmly and treated like valued guests. (I recommend renting a car at an airport and driving here and around the area, it is breathtaking). The Facilities were super clean and our room was beyond expectations. Great open layout. The food was top notch! We opted to eat at the restaurant and there are plenty of dishes to choose from (both traditional and more western). Breakfast was a moment we won't forget! We were lucky enough to be there when the town's monks were coming through for blessings and food. Don't be afraid to ask the staff what to do. The bed was super comfortable. The large windows allowed us to wake to the rising sun and see a spectacular sunrise. Don't hesitate booking a room! Next time we come back, we will take advantage of the private rooftop barbecue dinner as the sun sets. So incredible.
