"I enjoyed the Vincci Soma Hotel’s proximity to good shopping, metro stops, the Retiro and the Prado Ideally located within the Barrio Salamanca. The hotel was clean and modern with efficient staff. I couldn’t ask for anything more other than a larger room perhaps, but being a single traveller it was adequate. Most of all the rates were very reasonable. I will surely return."

"Typical Novotel quality and service. Hotel is relatively new inside and quite spacious. Location is not right in the middle of Madrid, so there's a bit of a commute to get to the sights, but on the other hand it's quiet at night and literally 100m from the first stop of the export express bus. There are several subway stations nearby (try using Goya for quick access to the city center) and some supermarkets, restaurants, cafes etc. We arrived at 9am after a long flight and were given a room right away which was very much appreciated. Rooms are big enough with good bathroom, big TV, free bottles water and a fridge, but lacking natural light due to small windows. "

"This hotel is aesthetically beautiful, with its location in the heart of the Salamanca district. However don’t be fooled by its 4-star grading. The rooms are small with no English channels on TV, and the hotel itself is quite overpriced considering there are more international 3-star options with better amenities close by. The food was amazing, and the rooftop terrace has stunning views, but for the price I paid, I would not stay here again."

"At the north end of Salamanca so further away from the city than some but easy access to metro or by taxi about 5-8 Euro to centre, 30 min walk to the main park. Nice quiet area where the embassies are - good restaurant la mucca very nearby (2 mins walk) their tuna millefeuille is fantastic Spanish take on the salad. Staff excellent - can't do enough, very smiley and happy. I couldn't fault them! Reception, bell boys, taxi hailers, breakfast staff all very impressive. Very reasonable rates for the standard, great technology in room - lighting, sound system, bathroom fittings etc. Must have been refurbished relatively recently. Far better than some of the old school 5 star rooms where you pay 3 times the price and the tech feels 20 years old. Breakfast also very good. Thoroughly recommended. "

"In the middle of Salamanca and just five minutes walk from the main station of Avenida de America is this cinema themed hotel. You'll be greeted well with its fun interiors. The theme is about cinemas and movies, as the name implies. I got booked in a room themed Oz where there was an Oz caricature. The furnishings were really retro cool and the room lighting was also retro but relaxing. Most importantly, the room was cozy. The bed was soft and I have 3 soft pillows where most hotels will only provide one hard pillow. So for the value I paid, it was great! "
