We will definitely be back again”
the first warm welcome was received when we touched down at the siem reap int. airport. den, the tuk tuk driver from secrets pavilion picked us up from the airport. we were astonished by den’s perfect command of english. we undoubtedly confirm to have him as our driver for the rest of the days. when we arrived at secrets pavilion, the owner welcomed us with open arms. the warm and comfortable ambiance of secrets pavilion has inevitably assured us that we are going to have our pleasant stay for 3 nights. instantaneously, the owner checked with us on our plans in siem reap. unlike usual salesman talk, the young and charismatic owner proposed the plans to us in accordance with our budget and his two cents worth. we later found out that his proposal indeed cost 10 dollars cheaper than the rest. we further indulged ourselves in the “pavilion” when we were introduced to sath, the front desk executive cum chef of the villa. mind you that he is a real food ambassador of siem reap. the shy but generous young chap shared with us the daily lifestyles of the khmer. not to mention, sath taught us some khmer cooking recipes. sath also helped us with some basic khmer language too. the thoughtful young chap offered to get us a cheap bike (1 dollar/day) from a friend of his. rest assured that sath will be the right middleman for you whenever it comes to bargaining with local vendor. overall, our comments/rates for secret pavilion are as follows:- value: worth more than what you are paying service: no words other than excellent room: fitted with french khmer-style décor. recommended for couples cleanliness: hidden away from the main road, less dusty location: easy access to khmer food stalls by using short cuts (near the bridge along the short cut),night market (exactly next to secret pavilion but rest assured we can’t even hear footsteps sound from the room) , pub street (500m away) little improvement to be excellent: mosquitoes near the lobby but not the room
new hotel with very friendly staff”
it is my first time visiting siem reap and as soon as i arrived at the airport at 930pm, the hotels tuktuk driver greeted me. he was a good english speaking driver. he initiated small talk and he was very friendly. i arrived at the hotel at around 10pm, the staff were waiting for me and offered me a cold and delicious welcome drink. the rooms are so spacious and new. i loved their hot shower, free wifi internet, cable tv and airconditioning. the next day, the hotel owner gave me a free one on one briefing about siem reap. he is so knowledgeable because aside from being a local, he has worked in numerous hotels in siem reap a few years back. another plus is that this hotel would arrange all your tours for a very competitive price. you will be charged the local price instead of tourist price. i love this hotel. i will recommend this to all my family and friends.
A home away from home”
After having travelled around the world and having stayed at dozens of hotels and resorts, I have to say that Salasara is the friendliest place I have ever stayed. I felt like not just a valued guest, but also a cherished member of their family during my time in Siem Reap, which I appreciate very much as a solo traveller. I felt very safe and cosy staying here. The rooms are spotless, the pool refreshing, the atmosphere welcoming, and the people, warm. The location is fantastic, being just a minute or two from restaurants and bars, and the resort is located in a slightly quieter and far more peaceful area of town. This place is a winner! Thank you so much for making my stay such a pleasurable one.
The Salasara hotel is a peaceful oasis in Siem Reap. the staff is very helpful. The room clean and quiet. Breakfast was a selection from the restaurant menu. the hotel has a wonderful pool, and tranquil ambiance. The hotel is located less than a block from the night market. I highly recommend, and would love to stay here again.
Lovely hotel with excellent service!”
For what you are paying, you are getting a great deal of a service. Hotel Owner, Sothearith and his head steward, Sath has make my stay in Siem Reap perfect with their excellent hospitality! As I was travelling solo, Sothearith was kind enough to invite me to dinner together with a visiting friend from phnom penh. I had the pleasure of visiting a local Italian restaurant operated by a friend of Mr. Sothearith and had the privileged to sample their own-made salami, cheese and hams. Please feel free to enquiry about the restaurant from the service counter. The hotel was also able to organised for me a guided tour of the Angkor Wat, with my tuk tuk driver explaining the significance of most monument in the Angkor city. Hotel rooms are air-conditioned with most basic amenities made available, and delicious breakfast served at reasonable prices if you do not buy one with your booking. However, it is the hospitality of the staff that will make your trip most memorable. To top it off, Mr. Sothearith was kind enough to drop me off personally after i missed my tuk tuk transfer from the hotel to the travel agency for my bus trip to Poipet.
Best hotel in SE Asia!! Amazing staff! ”
We had the most incredible stay at Salasara and they made our time at Siem Reap so memorable! The staff were so friendly helpful and always offering advice or assistance when needed. On arrivals our room got up graded and the rooms were all Great !! So spacious, with lovely little patios and all close to the great pool! Restaurant and bar at the hotel was also really good! Will with out doubt go back there again!
Service from the Heart”
I felt very safe and well taken care of on my day of solo arrival. My son joined me second day onwards. I was personally greeted by the humble owner, Mr Soetharan. I arrived early and he sat with me almost one hour explaining how to best fit my tour on my 4d3n visit. He even sent me on his motorcycle to a cultural site nearby. Sant, the assistant to the owner is also very helpful and kind. I did not have a multiplug to charge my handphone and I had one the very next day. The tuk tuk driver, Thong is a sweet young man. They are conversant in English. The room is clean and tidied daily. All of our needs were met, and I thank the great and hardworking staff for a wonderful stay in Siem Reap. I would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting Siem Reap. It is nearby to everything you need to visit in the city just by walking.
Awesome hotel, competent and friendly owner/staff”
I can rave on and on about Secrets Pavillion! It's a quaint little hotel that's very promising due to its excellent Customer Service, awesome owner (Sivatha) and staff (Nich, Ratha and the other 2 young men who took care of us at the hotel) ; great food; very affordable room rates and tuktuk service for tours; trusty tuktuk driver (Chi). Our experience was amazing from start to finish! Day 1: they had Chi (tuktuk driver) pick us up from the bus terminal as we took a bus from SAigon. After a very loooong tiring bus ride, we were welcomed by a genuinely smiling young man who drove us to the hotel. We were welcomed with nice lime juice and the staff including the owner took care of us as we settled in to our room. They even drove us back to the night market at 11pm, for free! The following day, breakfast was amazing that I bought plenty of the strawberry jam on our way home to Manila. Second day was fantastic- tuktuk driver toured us around the magnificent Angkor Archeological Park, and more. 3rd day was even better. The only thing we'd request to change is the bathroom sink but everything else is perfect! Free stable wifi, free drinking water and coffee/tea daily. MY HUSBAND AND I RECOMMEND SECRETS IN SIEM REAP! WE WILL COME BACK TO SECRETS for sure very soon! The staff and service are just lovely! Thank you Sivatha for building this hotel and taking care of your staff and your guests. More blessings and success to you!
Amazing value, location and hotel.”
By far the best value hotel we came across in 3 months travelling SE Asia it was amazing, and Siem Reap is such a nice city. Staff were so helpful and friendly, sorted us out some really good mountain bikes to tour Angkor Wat, helped us arrange pick up from our bus company and ended up sorting us a free tuk-tuk as the bus company couldn’t pick us up at the hotel. The hotel has a really good breakfast included part-buffet but can order one of a lot of options. Not much of you’re vegan/dairy-free on the menu though. Pool area where you can order food and drinks via a phone and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner too, the Amok curry was lovely and decent value. Location is so close to Pub Street and Sok San Road where all the bars and restaurants are plus the night market is on the doorstep. Still very quiet in the hotel at night though. The room was clean and had A/C and a good shower, only downside was during our visit none of the TVs worked. Loved our stay.
Great staff, good location, well maintained hotel”
We originally booked in to Secrets Pavillion for 2 nights but ending up staying 14 nights. The location of the hotel is great. Just off the Sok San Road where there are lots of good, cheap restaurants & bars and only 5 minute walk to the night market. The grounds are well maintained and kept immaculately clean. The pool area is nice. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed (hard mattress), tea, coffee and water replenished daily, a fridge and safety box. There was no window in the room but this was a benefit as we slept well!! The most amazing thing about this hotel is the staff and level of service they offer. Fabulous service, better then some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again when I visit Siem Reap in the future.
Salasara is a great place to stay in Siem Reap. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. The area is safe and quiet and is conveniently located near the night market. The facility is great especially the swimming pool. Overall place is great but cleanliness of bedsheets should be improved.
Nice hotel , Friendly staff, good location”
Very warm hospitality we received during our stay with Salasara hotel , from coffee house to receptionists . Most of them are very friendly and informative. Hotel served quite a moderate priced menu compare to those cafes in town and tasted great. Night markets justs steps away . Good location too to markets . Overall , we enjoyed our stay very much and will come again if we visit Siem Reap again.
Memorable stay in a rustic fashion hotel.”
Every thing was good. The staff (Nica and one other whose name I didn't get) are very friendly and helpful. They tried to help us on our request. The room was great, spacious, and clean. Internet is available at home and very stable connection too. The hotel have massage in the room service. I recommend the Khmer Massage. The breakfast was OK, I love the egg.. But they don't provide lunch or dinner, so you gotta get it some where at the Night Market... But honestly, everyone is at the Night Market/Pub Street at night since all the entertainments are there. The hotel also provide transport to go around Angkor Wat and excursion outside Siem Reap for a very reasonable price. The tuk tuk driver, Gi, who ferried us back and forth was very friendly too. Although a more explanation of the things while we are traveling would be better though.. I just hope the road going to the hotel is fixed and paved. I wonder whether it will be very muddy during rainy season. I'll be surely coming back to this Villa if I visit Siem Reap in the future..
Puvan from SIngapore”
I was travelling with my elderly parents and their comfort was important to me. The hotel was amazing. the location was close to all the centrally located attraction area in town. Its away from the crowd and give a quiet and serene feel..... also well maintained in a sense it is not as dusty compared to the surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful for every enquiry... i will recommend this hotel to all my friends travelling to Siem Reap in the future... :):)
great value for money”
The location of the hotel was great because it was located 5 minutes from the centre of siem reap but it is quiet and calm and not noisy at all. There is only a dirt road that leads to the hotel but do not let that fool you, because it has a great location. Staff was very helpful and they offer a free airport pick up which is very cool when your are travelling for a longer time. The breakfast was good too. The room was small but had all the necessary comfort and was very clean. They have a nice pool area too. Highly recommended for a stay in siem reap.
Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 weeks, and we loved it. The staff were so friendly, greeting us and playing with our children any time we walked past the lobby - they felt like true friends by the time we left. We had a deluxe (larger) room that was on the ground floor and very private with a small yard in front for the kids to sit and play. The pool was so great - you can order food to the pool, and they provide towels at the pool. The hotel was quiet at night for sleeping (even after 14 nights we had no disturbances), and we thought the rooms were very sound-proof. The hotel is right next to the night market and about 5 min walking from Pub Street/nightlife. We’ve stayed in about 4 different hotels in Siem Reap over the years, and we’ll always choose this one from now on!
It was a pleasant stay. The original room we booked was not up to our expectations, it was more a 2 star facility. After a conversation with the manager we were moved to an upgrade room, really 3 star. We dindt have to pay for this. More than adequate respons. The location to the town is perfect, a 10 minute walk or a short tuktuk drive away. The tuktuk service for nightime is an excellent idea. The dirtroad is dark and in this way you can get to the hotel safely Breakfast was good, some of the staff still needed some training but they will get there as well. The friendlyness and helpfulness was really great. The free towels near the pool were constantly changed, very nice. We would go back to this place if we ever were in Siem Reap again
The name says it all”
We've been here for 3 nights, we were pick from bus terminal by a young tuk tuk driver who were very polite and friendly. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were served with a refreshing calamansi drink. Our room is at the ground floor, very near to the reception and dining hall, and we received a strong signal of wifi. The room is tidy and clean, we don't have any mosquito problem although they do provided us with mosquito net, it never been used. The shower always hot, no problem to take a shower at dusk before going to Angkor Wat for sunrise sightseeing. Overall we are very happy with our stay and would like to stay again at SP when we come to Siem Reap.
My stay in Secrets Pavilion was really wonderful. I was welcomed by a very fresh welcome drink that really was refresh us from a tiring long trip. The smile and hospitality of the staffs and the owner, Sivatha, made us comfortable to stay there. Although firstly we were a little doubtful when i enter the road to the guesthouse, but no doubt anymore, it's really a cozy and nice place for resting, room is very clean... Sivatha also arranged a good tour for us too. Thank you Sivatha, Sad and your family for being my host while visiting Siem Reap. I will stay there again when I come back to visit Cambodia and will recommend Secrets Pavilion to our friends.
Great location, brilliant service and nice rooms”
It was a little tricky to find the hotel, but once there it was well worth it. Was welcomed with a delicious lime drink and an extremely friendly smile. Staff were brilliant, travelling alone can be scary sometimes but they made me feel right at home engaging me in conversation. Room was really nice, comfortable bed, A/C and hot shower. Breakfast was really tasty. Overall it was great value for money and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Siem Reap.
