Would highly recommend Samathas to every-/anyone!”
We would highly recommend Samathas. It is truly a gem on the island. Perfect location, not too close to everything and not too far. You can easily walk to the central village with the bars, restaurants, shops etc in a few minutes but if you want to go to bed early and go diving early the next morning you will not be disturbed at night and you can walk down to big blue (the best diving place on the island) in 2 minutes. Their breakfast is amazing and they server it all day long. If you long for proper coffee, they have it. They also have some really nice and well cooked local food and drinks (dont miss the thai ice lemon tea). Where ever we went people were talking about their pancakes and waffles and many go here just for the breakfast from other hotels. The rooms are very very nice. Great design, clean, minimalistic, easy to clean and we enjoyed staying there very much. This is Thailand but we honestly did not have one single bug for our entire stay! They are very eco-friendly, let them know if you want your room cleaned every day but you have the option of not if you feel it is not neccesary yet. Also they have take away boxes that are NOT made from plastic! wohoo! save koh tao! The staff is amazing. We had such a great time. Madison and the other staff were very friendly and took good care of us. Laundry service worked smoothly. Close to the B & B is an ATM and a place where you can book taxis for reasonable prices. There is a clinic close that we didnt try and a bike shop where you can rent a scooter for a good price just outside. We would recommend Samathas for anybody. You get so much value for your money and compared to other hotels our friends stayed in Samathas is so much better and cosier. We would defenately come back.

Great new accomodation on Koh Tao”
samatha bed & breakfast is a great new spot on koh tao. the rooms are nicely finished with concrete and exposed brick. only thing they are lacking are tv's and refrigerators.we had our infant daughter with us so no refrigerator made things a little tricky but the staff did everything to help us out (giving us free reign of their refrigerator and bringing us ice if necessary) they have only been open for 6 months and say that the tvs and fridges are on the way.the staff were excellent- i can't say enough about mo- she was wonderful. it is close to the beach and the breakfast was yummy(and rest of the menu).i would definitely recommend it.

I was so pleasantly surprised at how delightful the Samatha B & B was. As an American couple in our early 50's who spend 5-8 weeks in SE Asia, every summer, we've seen our share of hotels! We stay within a mid-range budget and always search from something centrally located but QUIET, CLEAN, AND COMFORTABLE. Bathroom cleanliness is especially important (having a shower that does NOT soak the rest of the bathroom) as is a comfortable clean bed and linens. Samatha met these standards and had a simple, yet classy, "loft" style. Great light in room (we had a corner room), wonderful balcony, and very nicely appointed. Very centrally located...just one block from beach and main center of town "party" noise did not penetrate the premisses at all. Only 4 rooms so clientele noise is minimal too. Staff was so kind and gracious. I can't recommend this place enough and will ONLY stay there from now on during my yearly week in Koh Tao.

Great and cosy B&B with lovely hosts!”
Stayed for 2 nights at Samatha. Would love to go back again. Located just a minute away from the buzz of Sairee beach yet able to enjoy the serenity of Koh Tao. It's also a minute from the beach and close to everything else. Cheapest Massage and some good authentic thai eateries within minutes. Hosts were lovely and breakfast was simple and healthy. For the price, it's hard to beat.

Samatha bed & breakfast is of quite a modern design as compared to a lot of other places in Koh Tao. It looks really good and feels new and fresh. The area in which it is located does not exactly have the same appeal but it is close to Sairee Beach (5 - 10 min walk) and is definitely a safe environ, the room was a good size with a large king size bed, good air conditioning and a nice balcony area. It is not by any means overly luxurious, but definitely felt like a nice place to return to at the end of the day. The services provided by Samatha were to a good standard and all of the staff and the owners were incredibly helpful and pleasant.

Tasty breakfast, friendly staff, convenient area”
We enjoyed our stay at Samatha. The location is very close to the restaurants and dive shops in Sairee Village, as well as the beach. The included breakfast was very tasty, especially the banana pancake, which we eventually ordered every morning. The wifi was fast and worked well in the room. The room was out of place for Ko Tao - it felt more like a loft in NYC than a beach hotel. It was very minimalist, and there was no storage for clothes or bags. But, it was clean and the shower water was hot and didn't flood the bathroom. Price was average for the area and room. The owner gas really nice and accommodating, and has an adorable daughter. We would stay there again.

Best room and breakfast I've had in Thailand”
I booked this hotel for one night and ended up staying for 8. For the price, I can't fault this hotel at all. The location is great: a two minute walk to Sairee beach and all of the restaurants and bars and shops in the town. The rooms are very minimal and look like New York lofts with exposed brick walls and concrete floors and a huge balcony. The showers are always hot and the cool air-conditioning is a welcome break from the heat of Koh Tao. The free breakfast is fantastic, with choices like pancakes, French toast and scrambled egg with a free tea, coffee or juice. The rooms are cleaned regularly and the Thai lady that runs the place is really friendly and willing to help. I've been travelling around SE Asia for over a month now and this is my favourite hotel so far.

lovely loft style hotel, superclean,great location”
samatha is on the more quiet end of sairee beach, 5 minutes walk to beach and than you find lots of lovely beach bars and restaurants to hang out all day long. hotel staff is very helpful and really want to make your stay a happy one, breakfast made to order and superdelicious. rooms are big, great bed, aircondition , bathroom, shower due to lack of pressure a little bit powerless.you also find a fridge in the room.there is even a small view from the big balcony to the sea. you can deposit valuables in hotel safe and relax. great value for money and you really feel very well taken care of.

I stayed at Samatha B&B for 2 nights, and wish I could've stayed longer! The room was spacious and very clean, industrial features with an awesome balcony! Direct view wasn't great (other hotels/hostels) but you could see the beach if you look off the right side. Staff was very thoughtful, I was quite sick from an earlier stay, and they brought water to my room, and accommodated a slightly late check out time. The food was also very tasty, and the bed quite comfy, with a plush comforter and cozy pillows. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a private, quiet spot off of Sairee :)

Lovely boutique hotel w warehouse conversion feel”
Had a great stay at Samatha with boutique warehouse conversion feel rooms and great lounge area downstairs to hang out for breakfast. Super friendly staff and cute kittens to play with if that takes your fancy. Only downside is location as Sairee beach isn't the best beach the island has to offer but perfect if you have a scooter to travel around on.

The staff at Samatha were fabulous - Miw and Madison were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant was a great place to eat and relax. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Samatha to anyone heading to Sairee Beach.

design hotel with great location ”
its a new hotel, with an art deco/ design decor and environment. the rooms are very good, simple decor, nice balcony, nice shower and bed. the staff are very gentile,however don't expect too much english speaking and so, advises about the island. the breackfast is good, with toastes, panckakes, etc. the kept our begs ater check-out time. is the perfect hotel for a stay in koh tao, if you decide to rent a moto and just need a good hotel with a good ambiente to stay, and during the day are entertained visiting the island beaches.

Cool hotel, modern New York loft style rooms”
Only stayed one night as she was fully booked. Really nice new hotel, they have done really great things with the space that the have. The location is just a two minute walk from the main Sairee strip, so quiet enough to sleep away from the traffic noise! Very helpful staff and wifi worked in the room. You can see the ocean from your balcony if you look left, unfortunately the view in front of the hotel is not great. Sightly expensive for what it is, but prices are in line with Sairee beach area in high season. Would stay here again.

I stayed for 5 nights. The accommodation is simple but stylish and just as presented in the photos. The staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast every day was delicious, with a good selection of options to choose from. Samatha is located less than 5mins stroll from bars, shops and restaurants but far enough away not to be disturbed by noise. As a single female I always felt safe. The only negative was that my room didn't get cleaned during my stay-although it was spotless when I arrived!

Quiet but central location”
My husband and I stayed here in June and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and clean with very friendly staff. There is a good range of breakfast choices and Samathas is only a 2 minute walk from Sairee beach with all the main bars and restaurants. It is quiet at night which, having visited several times before, can be hard to find on Sairee so worth the short walk off the main stretch.

Modern boutique, just off the main strip”
For Thailand, let alone koh tao, this place has a very modern western feel. With only 5 rooms, it's a great little boutique hotel. Each room is spacious, with a nice open design bathroom and a veranda. I would mention that they need better sealing for mozzies (bring coils for the sensitive) and the view isn't anything to brag about - but these elements don't do much to damage the overall experience. The young couple that were running the place were friendly and sociable, and tried their best to improve our stay. We enjoyed the included breakfast.

Nice hotel!”
I stayed here for 2 nights while traveling alone. Big room, big balcony, fresh and newly renovated! Has a very contemporary feel to it. AC, big bathroom, very clean. Really friendly staff and great breakfast (a lot of egg options ofc but also yougurt) and lovely coffee. Just be aware that they start serving breakfast at 08.30. I had a ferry at 09.30 but i made that without a problem. Also be aware reception is closed between 08 pm and 08 am. About 150 m from the beach, maybe 10 min by taxi to pier. On my first night there was a party going on in a bar close by, the other night there was not i wasnt disturbed by noise from bars on the beach or from sairee town. The biggest downside about the location is that the view is not great, you see not so renovated hotels and a bike shop. That kinda view from a nice hotel in Thailand is not too uncommon however. I would recommend this hotel!

Good, but could be better”
The rooms are bright and airy, decorated in an industrial style that we quite liked, the bathroom was large and modern with large containers of nice smelling soap, shampoo and conditioner. The balcony was big with 2 nice chairs and a small table although the view wasn't particularly good, you could see the sea in the distance and it was a nice place to cool off with a cold drink. The bed was comfortable with nice bedding and felt clean. The walk to the best part of Sairee beach was 5 minutes, town same with lots of bar's and restaurants to cater for most tastes and pockets. What lets the place down is the meagre breakfast, 2 eggs done any way and a couple of slices of poor quality bread toasted and either one hot drink or a juice - no offer of an Asian style breakfast and no complimentary tea or coffee for guests staying at the SAMATHA. Cleaning is not done regularly, I had to specifically request what our requirements were. Overall a nice place but could be so much better.

Great stay perfect for diving and couples.”
Wonderful stay over a week in koh tao. Great location for us as we were diving at big blue and could walk across the road. Loved having the big balcony to dry our things in the afternoon. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Nice and quiet at night for early nights but close to everything for when you head out. Would definitely reconmend and would stay again for our next trip to koh tao!

Friendly hotel with great open air cafe below”
The family that owns and runs Samatha was extremely friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere they've created at the cafe downstairs from the hotel makes it easy to meet people as everyone enjoys hanging out on their little platforms with cushions in the open air. They gave me some great local referrals and even after I moved out, to see another part of the island, they spotted me in the dark at a crowded, local festival, wandering around looking for a spot to sit and called me over to join them. That's truly friendly!
