Great resort
Enjoyed my stay, the staff was very accommodating and attentive. Rooms were clean but the bed was like cement!! Need to update mattresses and bedding for a more comfortable sleep. Did not rest well but love the island.

Pretty Good Value for the Money
Samaya Bura is located in Lamai Beach area, however, the ocean there is subsiding and a bit rocky this time of the year (mid-late April). Though no fault of the Resort, a good swimmable area of ocean is important to us. The pool is very nice but a bit small. The resort itself is beautiful and the staff even more so. Ask for a view room if you can get one. Daniel C.

Not so good
Nice'n'friendly staff. No other particular positives. Location is not great and because the hotel is in the outskirts of Lamai and because of the exorbitant Samui-taxi mafia it costs a lot to go anywhere. What annoyed me was that on the first night I dropped one of drinking glasses in my room. Next morning I reported it to the cleaner so that she would not cut her feet. Nothing else was said. Then, when I checked, out I was charged THB 200 for the glass which you can likely buy just down the road in Tesco for THB 10.

Rather disappointing
The hotel and related infrastructure are quite dated and not always functioning properly e.g. Air con or lights or flooded bathroom. The staff tried to help but it was pointless. No fresh fruit juices available at the bar only industrial ones. Breakfast was average. Luckily there was the Radiance restaurant at the Spa resort next door, both of which saved our trip. We don't recommend Samaya Bura and will probably not come back.

Tired Hotel
Position, view and pool when working !
Not good room by busy road , very noisy and hotel is in need of renovation. We moved room because of the noise and was asked to pay for this which you would have thought they would have offered for free due to our disatisfaction.
