Nice hotel with good service”
Samed Grand View Resort is situated on SaiKaew beach, the largest of the beaches on Koh Samet. Here the water is clean and very nice for swimming. As the largest beach on Koh Samet there is plenty of choice when it comes to dining and other attractions. The hotel is nice, bungalows and hotel blocks in a nice garden setting, just off the beach. The hotel restaurant is beautiful with a lovely view of the beach.
Excellent”
Best location in the island. Really 10m from the beach as advertised. Stayed in the ground floor of the main building and found the rooms to be modern and well appointed. Ground floor rooms have massive front porches like mini patios with lounge chairs and a coffee table. Friendly staff do their best to keep the facilities clean and as sand free as possible considering a beach resort. This facility is quiet and ideal for families with children or couples looking for solitude. Beach facing open bar offers great view, refreshing drinks and tasty food. You can sit at the very secure beach front all night and watch the sun rise. Those looking for a vibrant nightlife, Koh Samet is not the island for that. There are some bars a short walk down the beach, again atmosphere is anything but staid. Small family run dining options in town is a 5 minute walk. My only complaint and the reason Facilities was marked down was due to the quality of Breakfast buffet. Unlike food offered A la carte, the breakfast buffet choices were limited and plain unappetizing. And practically the same offerings everyday. Points of note & interest : No pool at this facility - no biggie, but would have been nice for families with toddlers. Must carry mosquito repellent if you plan to spend anytime outdoors at night. Must visit the Funky Monkey restaurant run by a Brit down the alley for succulent home style burgers and pizza. I highly recommend this resort !
Good location with modern hotel room”
Good location at sai kaew beach & with super good live band at night at the beach front. The fire show at 9pm daily is interesting too. The hotel room is modern & good. The food at resort is great. Breakfast facing the beach front is relaxing. Recommend to take speedboat from ban phe pier and alight at the beach front. Highly recommend this resort for Koh samed.
Hidden Treasure not far from Bangkok”
Koh Samed is [still] largely undeveloped. Formerly the Island was the place Thais from Bangkok would spend a short inexpensive weekend. Now, mostly foreigners travel there. The only way to reach the island is by boat (fast-1,500B or slow-100B). The trip is pleasant and many speed boats will land you on the beach near your Hotel. Be prepared to pay a "Rural Road Fee" when arriving ranging from 20-40B for Thais and 100-200B for foreigners. You can still find a quiet stretch of beach or rock cliffs to watch the sun rise or set. The Hotel is situated on a beautiful white (clean) sandy beach. Sun chairs are limited due to gov't regulations to keep the beach uncluttered. Prices for tourists will be high, so be sure to not accept the first price offered. There are several large restaurants along the beach serving a large selection of dishes. Room rates vary, so be sure to check for specials. The only downside is when your room is surrounded by a loud tour group; yelling from room to room and slamming doors until 1:00 am! I recommend the smaller Thai cottages for a little quiet and solitude. Breakfast is about 4-star and offers many dishes to sample. The Hotel's beachside bar is fun and beanbag seating is under a large blue-illuminated tree with live music most evenings. Try the sunset boat tour (400B for 2.5 hours) for a wonderful view of the Island. If you are lucky, you can see the sun set without clouds. Snorkling near the Island is a little disappointing, but we were told there are tours that travel to better locations. We will definitely be back.
Island Paradise”
I stayed in the Thai House which was steps from the sand and ocean. Bathrooms are large and well appointed and the room itself is small but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful and I also enjoyed he beachside bar for a cooling beverage while on the beach. I will choose this resort the next time I come to Koh Samet.
Superior Garden Room”
First night on Koh Samet. The hotel location was top notch, with a short back alley way to the Tuk Tuk waiting area, so it was easy to reach other parts of the island as well as Sai Kaew Beach. We booked superior garden room for one night. Simple room, a bit far from the beach. probably paying a premium for staying over Christmas period, so it was OK but not great. Shouldn't be a problem if you want to spend most of your time on the beach. Very helpful staffs.
Closeness to the beach, Fresh air with good environment.”
I didn't go there but I booked the hotel for my brother and he said that Samed Grandview is nice beachfront resort on Samed island. Closeness to the beach that you can enjoy your meals and feel relaxed.
Deluxe Grand Executive unit”
We stayed at the Deluxe Grand Executive unit for 2 nights during Song Khrang season. It was very expensive for a 3.5 star hotel (Although it did have 60m2 of space) The bath tub on the balcony was relaxing, but one side did not have curtains, so someone probably saw me on one of the nights. I hope management installs some curtains to give more privacy. I did check out the other units, which looked old and worn down. The breakfast was fair, and coffee was horrible. Tasted very "thick" even though we went first thing in the morning. The negative reviews about the loud music did not bother us at all as the windows seemed to be some what sound proof. But I assume that it will not be the same for the Thai Cottage style units. The beach was also good as it was not jammed pack with tourists, but the sea water was not that transparent(Sai Kaew Beach) Koh Lan, near Pattaya is probably more "bluer". Anyways, we did end up paying alot of money but the overall balance was good.
Pleasant hotel with excellent location”
Stayed at Samed Grand View for a night. Hotel i situated at the "middle" of Sai Kaew Beach, with breakfast restaurant overlooking the beach in front of the hotel. We stayed at a cottage that was clean and fresh. Breakfast kind of standard but satisfactory. No problems during our stay. The hotel is from a 15 min walking distance from the main pier. Close to the restaurants at the beach by night.
Thai cottage almost right on the beach!”
The Thai cottage was so lovely - you get a real feeling of privacy but you are still close to all the amenities. Also, just 30 seconds walk to the beach with all the fun nightlife Sai Kaew has to offer! The restaurant is also very good - wide selection on the breakfast buffet, and the steamed lemongrass sea-bass was delicious. The beach bar area with the beanbag chairs at night is really relaxing and you can smoke a shisha and watch the locals twirling fire-sticks! A great place.
Great hotel, great beach, good food and amazing Rui”
The best hotel on sai kaew beach - good location, clean rooms and beach. Beautiful sea view from restaurant and beach bar. Very nice fire show in the evenings. Special thanks to very kind and helpful Rui. You are the best!!!
Great Resort! Great Times!”
Everything was great. The rooms, beach, location, staff..... was all as good as it gets. As for the construction that other reviewers mentioned.... it was in the backround as im assuming most major construction is over with. We barley heard any noise all trip. The bar on the beach is pumpin at night and there is night life all around on the beach. The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice and clean... Samed Grand View Resort.... We will Be Back!
Nice Cottage, Perfect Location, and Romantic”
Second day on Koh Samet, moved into their Thai Cottage for one night. Having stayed in the superior garden room on the previous night, this was a HUGE upgrade and finally started to feel like a holiday resort. Nice sitting benches on the cottage deck facing the beach, comfy bed with Thai style drapings, wooden style toilet and seperate shower room. As we were very near the beach, the only downside was the loud music playing outside during the day - really loud! (Although we liked what they played.) After checking out, we walked back to the pier instead of waiting for a Tuk Tuk - not as far as we thought, took us about 15 minutes only with a leisure pace. Sadly, we also loved the two 7-11s nearby because they were just so conveniently there!
Great location with good price”
Resort is excellently located in the middle along Sai Kaew beach. Very easy to get to this resort, won't have trouble finding. The beach right in front of the resort is very clean and less crowded. The resort provides guests with beach towels and beach chairs are available too. Price of the resort is very reasonable comapared to other similiar resorts nearby. Only negative thing is rooms are a little small and different from the photos. The shower was also not working very well. Resort is undergoing some construction, I think it will get even better next time.
Group travel”
I'd recommend this Samed Grandview Rewort, the room and place was exactly as photos, convenient to walk around... nice beach with smooth sands
Pleasent and comforting stay”
We statyed at Grand View for 1 night, but it was a very pleasent experience. It has a great location and you walk less 20 steps to reach your room (yes I mean it) after you descend from the speed boat leaving your at Sai Kaew Beach (The best in vicinity)
Marvellous location, now relax and enjoy”
this was possibly the best hotel location i have seen on my limited travels, situated next to the beach to look out of your window and see the gentle clear blue sea washing up less that 10 metres away sums it all up. service from check-in to check-out was fantastic and the resturant very pleasant for a romantic evening meal. this hotel is situated a short 10 minute walk from the main beach resturants and the famous fire show which is a must see. the thai cottage while being a little on the small size had the benefit of said view of the beach which more than made up for the size. i would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a quite romantic stay on samet island.
beyond expectation”
Honestly I didn't expect anything from the hotel after reading the reviews, but it was surprisingly good, especially the bar, the breakfast and hotel style. Although the standard room we stayed was old but very clean, reasonable for the price. Mosquito is a problem, but I suppose it's the same in other hotels. I need to highlight here that the boy who look after the beach was very honest, he came all the way to return the money he charged for beach chair/towel and apologized after he got to know we were in-house guests, although we didn't know about the policy at all.
Beachfront resort on Samed island”
Samed Grandview is nice beachfront resort on Samed island not far from the peer. Pros: good location, cozy room with big terrace, good beach. Cons: beach can be overcrowded because of Russian and Chinese tourists that are delivered from Pattaya for one day trip. There were high waves in time we stayed there

Excellent short stay beach break.”
Excellent hotel for a 4 day break at the beach. Fantastic location on one of the best beaches on Koh Samet. On one of the more livelier beaches with good nightlife. Mosquito repellent needed for nighttime. Not a quiet location. Worth booking the Thai style Cottages if prepared to counteract mosquito's? Would recommend to combine with a quieter location if extended stay?
